Alexander Vargas I have a question, I’m in the early stages of planing an Sti engine swap on a 2 door gc8 Subaru 2.5 rs, do you think that with all the parts that you listed can fit into that car or would it be better to stick with a wrx swap instead? What do or would you recommend? Also if anyone wants to help me out on it too, feel free to drop some help
Welcome to the world of upgrades. I got sticker shock a few times on my 800 plus awhp 2005 STI build. It didn't take long to be 70k deep in it including the car. Follow your dreams and MUCH RESPECT to you for all the research and hard work you put into it and your channel. Keep the videos coming 👍👍👍👍👍
@@BxrTerror working on them right now. I will have them by or before January. Changing some things also for next year. I have pictures and videos through the whole build start to finish. Thanks for asking. It's been a 3 year project and a bunch of money. Worth every penny 👍👍
@@BxrTerror it will be on this channel and after the first of the year on APATUNED.COM website. We totally went through the car and it will be completely finished by January and have a totally different look. Setting it up for Streetcar Takeover sport compact stick shift class.
You are making all the right decisions , prices are good . People will say " why dont you just buy an sti " ? you will know when you get behind the wheel , there is nothing more rewarding or will connect you to your car than doing it yourself ! looking forwad to the install !
he is gonna have get into it for awhile, because the factory build spec sheet says a lot lot lot more then a motor and transmission. According to Subaru its just about 60% different over all. they say everything from all braking components except hard lines and almost all the suspension save for a couple bushings. then to obviously the complete drive train including all three differentials and shafts and, then to even removal of sound deadening plus some other stuff to even out the weight from the heavier Sti stuff. Way to much stuff to make it even close to economical to do, he should have just bought a used STI of the same year. you can swap the transmission and motor but its still not a Sti on the data plate, he would have been so much better off to just upgrade the wrx stuff and have something better then fake. Its not a jdm 1989 Honda crx SIR swap over, which make sense because we never got them in the USA. But why a STi swap? The cost of the motor alone could get you much farther if spent on a good after market turbo kit and fuel set up. I must be missing something, as I dont see the reason to do a fake, the wrx is a good starting platform already to tune.
I've owned 3 wrx sti's 02/04/06 all 6speeds . Now drive a 06 xt forester 5speed I'd never ever go back to a 6speed I actually prefer the forester over the sti's all day everyday!!! ppg gears on a five speed and brembos.. 👍
Can I ask what an 04 sti was like vs an 06 sti ? In terms of power, reliability, fun factor, quality ? Also why do you prefer a 5 speed over 6 speed ? I'm just getting into cars and I feel like I need a sixth gear cause cruising 70mph on the highway my revs stay at 3-4k revs. Seems inefficient ? Does a 6 speed solve this issue ?? I own an 04 subie wagon 😎😎
Currently building up my 04 Forester XT. Motor is all done and almost ready to start up. I was thinking maybe in the next year to switch over to the 6 speed. How is the 5 speed with the ppg gears in it?
Adrian Billadeau .. You have to love the sound of ppg gears or forget it lol besides that it's tight ,beautiful ratios and good for 450whp from memory!!!
@@danielson7086 That sound is pretty awesome! I have not personally build a trans yet but have known people with them. I am expecting my build to be somewhere between 350 to 400 WHP. I know these 5 speeds tend to be not the best under loads so a 6 speed or a built 5 speed is in my future.
Alex, Do you think it's ok to transfer 2004 STI internals into a regular 2004 impreza body shell? Are there differences between body shells or body panels? good luck on your project. I'm eager to see the final results.
I spent $65k on my 08 WRX hatch. It doesn't show though because some of the parts you get, get replaced. I had 4 turbos. Well your only going to see the current turbo. I had two engines etc.
Will be most likely selling my 1995 WRX GC8 when I get back to the states. Bringing it with me when I leave japan. EJ20G 5 speed stock with a cat back exhaust, blitz boost gauge and turbo timer
Awesome bro i gotta do my build soon as well. And trust me your not the only one. My subie is auto 2.2 NA impreza 4 door and it drives awesome. It so fun to drive its nimble and super light weight. I wana do a swap too but saving up moneys right now.
10k including labor. Parts, and shipping?? Maybe? Guessin b4 video... Also will have an externally wadtegated sti cuz of u so.... thanks for the inspiration!

I have an Impreza L identical to yours I can't wait to see what you do with it as I am contemplating what to do with mine as far as upgrades but my 06 LGT has been my main priority with a stage one engine with a V 52 which has managed to take all my money
I have a 98 Impreza L that I was going to sti swap but some 16 year old girl on her cellphone rear-ended me and bent the frame totaling it out. I just have it as a daily now.
All about Bleu a wrecked sti would still cost at least 2500 because of the drivetrain but then you run the risk of having to replace parts that may have been damaged in the wreck
Maybe things are more expensive on the west costs . Folks by me we selling full Sti swaps minus the motor for 3500 . 1,800 for labor and still have money left for other things .
yo i watch all the ads til the end so you can have more money for the build , if that not support idk what it is
I fuckin love u
Mine didnt have ads.
u dnt actually need to watch it until the end, just 10 seconds is enough lol

I also wanna know this lmao I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to swap all STI parts into a 07 subaru impreza
Hope 4th to 5th don't crunch on the second hand 6 speed they are prone to do it .. interested to see if anyone else hates the ratios on the 6spd
Daniel Son not really a fan of the 6spd ratio but overall it is a far better gbox then the 5
What do you mean by ratios ? Wouldn't a six speed just have "shorter" gears and therefore rev faster ?
You should do a forester build🤟🔥
I’ve built my forester over the years it’s almost the exact same as building a wrx

How about doing an H6 swap next?
2.5k for Sti drivetrain!! that's cheap asf!!
