I nearly RMA'd my GPU for this same issue until I saw this video and I realized I can definitely do this myself. Excellent video, thank you for this. Saved me a ton of time.
thanks man! i have the same card same issue but it was the fan closest to the video ports. i originally bought it 2nd hand and the warranty expired over a year ago and just like you said, they sent a replacement fan 100% free. no hassle. i hate that evga got out the gpu game because they were dominating competitors imo
Really helpful video mythic thank you mate. I've got an RTX Plait 3080 that doesn't appear to have any screws for fans on the front. So I think I'm gonna have to do something similar to you.. I'll see how I get on asking for a replacement fan. I hope they're just as kind. But I'm in UK
Currently have my official EVGA 3080 opened in front of me as I am watching your video. Mine came directly brand new from EVGA, not even through a retailer. So all of my parts are first hand, legitimate parts from EVGA My official fans ARE Everflow - the ones you were saying were Amazon fans. So your theory of Everflow being the dodgy replacement is incorrect, if anything, the other fans you put in are the non original replacement knockoffs
Then my assumption was incorrect but my replacement fans also came directly from EVGA so they must be using more than one supplier for the fans. Thanks for sharing that.
@@MythicSRwell it’s worth mentioning, the reason mine is apart in front of me is because the fans are making a lot of noise Sounds like popcorn popping or bacon sizzling in a pan But no loose cables, nothing it could be catching on Seems the bearings inside have not been lubricated correctly and over time require re lubrication But these fans (at least, the Everflow ones) you cannot access the bearing inside Meaning I cannot lubricate them, but need actual replacements which is unfortunate
Email their support they should hook you up. I wonder if there is any difference in quality between the 2? Idk I'll have to see how long these last for I guess.
Everything I've messaged them about they just asked for my address and said if they still had parts they would mail them. Usually got a email day or two later with a tracking number. They sent me replacement screws for the fan shroud a few weeks before I hit them up for the fans.
I have the same issue with one of my fans and found your video. What method did you use to contact EVGA the quickest? Did you use the ''support ticket'' section or the ''RMA/Warranty'' section?
@@MythicSR Also out of curiosity, you said you got your card from amazon? I did too, and now I'm wondering what type of fan I'll find on my own card after hopefully getting a free replacement from EVGA like you did. I had no idea a new-in-box card like this could ever have an off brand fan installed inside. Also one more question, the noise that my bad fan is making is driving me absolutely crazy. Do you think its reasonably safe to have that fan off while and use the card while I wait for a replacement, as long as the temperature of the card remains stable?

Glad it helped!

Hell yea dude! Glad they helped you out! Yea I'm still bummed about them being out of the GPU game to.

I hope they treat you well and can get you fixed up! Let me know how it works out for you.
If they don't help you I do see you can buy replacement online for roughly $50 USD not sure how that converts.
I got mine like 30 minutes ago from Ali express for 4euros for the black pin fan

did they ask for any proof of your broken fan or did they just send them for free anyway?

Email them at support@evga.com tell them what card you have and the issue your having. Had a response within a few hours.
@@MythicSR Perfect. Thanks for the help. Gonna send the email right now.

I purchased my card used from eBay. At some point someone swapped one of the fans with a replacement from Amazon.@@jdizzle921
