EVGA's death is one of the saddest deaths I've seen. Like, I can appreciate that the owner wants out of the and he doesn't want to see the company he built fall apart in someone else's hands but at the same time, losing EVGA is a true loss and honestly, it feels worse to lose them like this than to see someone else destroy them with greed and incompetence.

Do you recall in Beauty and the Beast when the Beast caged those birds because he loved their singing, but their depression made them not sing anymore?
That bird is EVGA. The singing was never ours to begin with and we could only enjoy it for as long as EVGA was a happy bird. There was no option to keep them. 😭

Yeah it honestly seems a bit selfish in some ways. I get why they don't want to work in the GPU space anymore but also they just tanked the entire company and destroyed many jobs to make a point which is falling on deaf ears anyway. A real shame.

    • @Archer957

@@SpartanArmy117 they projected the company would fail anyways if they continued under Nvidia just a little while longer down the road. Nvidia is screwing all these smaller companies over hard to the point where there isnt really a point for a lot of these companies to continue

evga isnt dead though. Its been less than a year since they departed. EVGA was being restrained and robbed so they left. They will most likely drop a graphics card next spring. They made the 4090 better than nvidia did so why would they just give up? if anything nvidia is suffering the most and it will only get worse. EVGA will be back on top

@@yeahcxnt not so much when you are talking large scale manufacturing orders of hundreds of thousands or millions of them at a time. A single voltage and fared rated cap could potentially be in the design of the power circuitry for every single product they make so switching suppliers on that scale could have weeks of lead time if the manufacturer wasn't running a huge surplus.

That wouldn't really fix anything. On the one hand, EVGA has experience making boards, not processing cores. ARC's shortcoming isn't even there though, its in software/firmware optimization. That's their crippling issue ATM. Horsepower wise, they're okay. Not crown tier, but acceptable. It's just that there aren't many things optimized to actually use that performance properly.
The owner of EVGA/CEO has also stated quite explicitly that he has no intention of letting EVGA go, whether public or to a buyout. Finally, that exact thing is half the reason EVGA has such an outstanding track record- they don't have the bean counters that intel bows to meddling in things they do not understand. If intel acquired EVGA, it would take exceedingly little time for them to ruin their good name in the pursuit myopic greed.
It WOULD be nice for ARC to become a serious competitor and duke it out with NVIDIA, but acquiring EVGA is not the way to do it, even if they were willing to work with intel, which reportedly, they are not.

evga just made coolers and pcbs. intel doesn't need that. They need to improve the gpu and the drivers.

Imma miss EVGA but good thing I have another back up PSU I don’t think my warranty will be any good in 5 years much less 10 I don’t feel they will be around In 10 years the ceo needs to either sell the company or make video cards for AMD/Intel or it will be a slow and sad death of the best company we have seen in this industry

Evga is a small company globally in comparison to Gigabyte, MSI & Asrock & Asus all range from around 100x's to around 1000x's Evga's market cap. Asus could easily buy Evga with their cash on hand. Even Zotac is around 3x's the market cap of Evga. It's a darn shame that such a company with great customer service is going away.

I miss EVGA they were my go-to for quality / high performance/overclocking builds & it's always better to pair a VId card with the Mbd vendor when possible- you always get little performance boosts etc. If they die for good I'm boycotting Nvidia- Permanently. (Ill give my $$ to AMD instead) They were the reason for EVGA getting out of the GPU market in the first place.

EVGA is dead. Everything is out-of-stock. Current "new" products are under-warrantied (PSU) and nothing at all from new Motherboards beyond only Intel (again). Every industry contact small shops have had in the past lost all direct contact @ c-suite level with EVGA, even suppliers are dgaf. EVGA is doing it's best to cash-out and crash it IMO. The perfect FU, I got mine of Capitalism.

Hopefully there will be a new kingpin gpu. Maybe a gpu that combines both the titan and kingpin gpu into one gpu. If I was using nv link, I would have a titan gpu and kingpin gpu in the same pc build if there was a noctua gpu cooling like the nh-d15 fan for both the kingpin and titan gpu, even a noctua power supply for complete silence.

I suspect that evga has an agreement in place with NVIDIA not to make competitors products for a year or so. My guess is that evga is going to release amd cards soon as the agreement runs out.
