The 416 sounds better in my opinion because it adds that brightness in your voice to make it sound better. Perhaps the 50 is more neutral, but it’s just not flattering to the voice.
I’m not into vlogging but I love the MKH416 and 50 combo. I made a video about them as well and love using the 50. Also, I heard what you said about the Theos and same here, I bought the kit and thought it was bad. Deity actually sent me a replacement and I still got quite a bit of self noise. I did multiple gain-staging tests and wanted it to work out but returned them both. Will wait until it’s been addressed.
I watched your videos on the deity. I am hoping they can fix the problem it seems to be a transmission issues when you use the recording function the noise is reduced a lot 🤷🏽♂️
Nice video. Two questions..Is mkh 50 good for tracking instruments in a home studio and what camera do you use when you speak with the hat the quality it's very nice ..
From my understanding the Mkh 50 & Mkh 40 are really good all around microphone. I would play around with the bass roll off if I used it with instruments because the MKH 50 can sound a little deep which may work well with some instruments but not others. Lucky there’s a switch for bass roll off on the mic. For my camera I’m using the Fx3 with a black pro mist filter 1/8 strength. Setting I’m just using S cinetone. So if you had an A7iv or A7slll you could get the same image
@@RyanWitherspoon Thanks for the answer! It passed through my mind that it's a Sony..( They have a slight yellowish tint ..) but I wasn't sure because of the filter..Thanks again !
Great video! Thank you. Do you mind me asking what camera you are using? Do you have a review on that?
I’m using the fx3. I do not have a review of it at the moment
