    I'm loving the DJI Lavalier Mic too! And once I turned off the low-cut, I totally felt DJI's sound quality step up.

    Great video! Quality and production is simple and clean.
    You’re correct about the audio sounding better when you record internally, IF you pump audio into your camera it’s at a 16bit rate vs the higher 24bit of DJI MIC 1 or DJI MIC 2 at 32bit.

      Thank you! Also I actually didn’t know that makes a lot of sense. I’ve been watching your content on the DJI Mics plus all the headphone videos. Thought it was awesome that you had the shure SM7B going into the DJI Mic 2

    I’m glad I’m not the only one who isn’t impressed with the DJI Mic 2’s internal mic. Got mine yesterday and was a little disappointed, I did tweak the EQ on it and it made it a lot better but I also ordered the DJI Lav mic and from your video it sounds way better.

      For the money once you buy lavaliers it's just better to go with RODE Pro more memory, better Lavalier mics & internal mics, plus the extremely robust option in app for what the Pro can do in sound & time code

    • @Tanner_Teves
      @Tanner_Teves 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dcameron7736 I still spent less than the RODE system because I only got the 1 TX 1 RX DJI kit and 1 Lav mic. If the RODE was able to connect to the DJI Action 4 wirelessly with no RX then I would have gone that route. But it can’t and I need nothing on the DJI Action 4 because I do driving POV videos and the camera sits on my face and I can’t have extra stuff hanging off of it.

    I can see the green light on your transmitters meaning you have have noise reduction on. I did the same and was not impressed with the DJI Mic 2. I saw a video that said never turn noise reduction on and I found when I did have it turned off, the mic is brilliant. Please give it a try and see what you think. I believe noise reduction is on by default.

    transmitter 2, stand alone sounds better.
    Is the djii lav mic the way to go? There seems to be other graet options to like sennheiser or rode 2, etc. Which would be best with a dji mic2 transmittere?

    • @RyanWitherspoon
      @RyanWitherspoon  หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion I like the original DJI mic better than the new one. I can’t really give you a fair opinion on all the competitors due to not having any experience with them Besides DJI and Rode if I had to choose between Rode or DJI I would choose Rode Wireless Pro because of sound quality and bang for your buck with everything that’s included, But if you only care about the sound quality and not 32bit float I would save money and buy the original DJI Mic because they sound amazing just as good as the Wireless Pro just no 32bit float. Side note the new lavs from DJI work on the original DJI Mics I’ve tested them and they sound pretty good

  • @TwoTimesRmedia

    So listening to the OGs vs the 2s you hear some hiss on the OGs . I don't think it sounds muffled I just feel there is more hiss in the OGs and the sound on the 2s are more flat with no hiss . Also I notice the wireless pros built in mics pick up more environmental noise and the mic 2s picture up less environmental noise and hone in more to your voice. You can eq them to add some clarity. Taking out some bass and a little highs.

    • @RyanWitherspoon
      @RyanWitherspoon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I agree with you the Mic 2 self noise is extremely low I was amazed by that. I also agree with you the mic 2 are flat not muffled. I feel a little crazy for saying that now. I had another person remind me that the mic 2 are similar to the shure Sm7B they are just flat sounding mics.

    • @RyanWitherspoon
      @RyanWitherspoon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No i double checked because for some reason it’s preset to be automatically on which is odd but I made sure it was off on both. I also double check noise cancellation to make sure it was off. For some reason to me it sounds like noise cancellation is still active even when you have it off I notice in some of my clips the background gets quiet but who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Good stuff although I was really hoping you would set the dji lav mic on both the dgi mic 1 and 2. I have the dji mic 1 and I been debating on getting their lav mic over the saramonic that everyone seems to use. Have yet to see a review vs the two.

  • @definingslawek4731
    @definingslawek4731 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    7:27 you say the dji is more muffled, is that down to the lav mic itself or is there some kind of problem with either the audio interface inside the recorder/ or the transmission system?
    I guess the way to test this is to test the rode lav on the dji mic and see if it sounds the same.

    • @RyanWitherspoon
      @RyanWitherspoon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I had to guess it appears to be with the mic built into the transmitters but when I plug the lavs in the audio sounds completely different it gets significantly better with lavs compared to just the built in mic on the transmitters

    • @definingslawek4731
      @definingslawek4731 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RyanWitherspoon Then I suppose while it's nice to have a better built in mic like with the rode, it kind of does not matter cause for most people there is no professional use case where the transmitter itself is visible on camera, and it has to be to be relatively close to the mouth.

    • @RyanWitherspoon
      @RyanWitherspoon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @definingslawek4731 exactly this is the reason rode puts a set of lavs in their kit it simply the best way to use the system

  • @greggh

    Thanks for the comparisons. Do you know if the original DJI mic transmitter works with the mic 2 receiver and the receiver built-in to the Pocket 3? Because if it does, that would be a great and cheap fix for this problem, since you can buy the original DJI mic transmitters new for $80.

    • @RyanWitherspoon
      @RyanWitherspoon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know for sure the original mic do not work with the pocket 3 because it does not have Bluetooth capabilities. As far as connecting the original to the new mic 2 transmitter I don’t think it’s possible being two different hardware and software

    • @greggh
      @greggh 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RyanWitherspoon The mic 2 transmitter does not connect to the Pocket 3 using Bluetooth. The Pocket 3 has a built-in 2.4 GHz wireless receiver that it uses to connect to the mic 2.

    • @RyanWitherspoon
      @RyanWitherspoon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I’m not mistaken it does connect via Bluetooth I was just looking at a video that explained that your DJI Mic 2 have to be in Bluetooth pairing mode to connect to the pocket 3 but you could be right. I currently do not own the pocket 3 so I’m definitely going off of other people’s experiences
