In preparation for the 2024 Summer Olympics, France has assembled 35 breathtaking venues across the country, including “Eiffel Tower Stadium”, the “Stade de France” and “Marseille Marina”. 13 of these venues are located in central Paris, 12 are located across Ile de France and 10 are spread across France. In central Paris, the stadiums are mostly temporary structures that capitalize on the city’s iconic landmarks to provide an exceptional atmosphere for the Olympic and Paralympic games. In Ile de France, mostly already-existing structures, such as Château de Versailles the Stade de France, are utilized for a wider variety of competitions. Lastly, across the country and in Tahiti, massive stadiums and coastal locations are used for football competitions and the Olympic marine competitions.

It's nice to have olympic games focused on sustainable urban development throughout the city.
Cause lord knows we don’t need to have what happened to Athens and Rio
@@brandongordon2392What happened to Rio and Athens
@@BLACKSTA361 a lot of abandoned stadiums and buildings which was a huge cause for Greece’s financial collapse… the lack of sustainability was a huge reason the Olympics is at times considered financial suicide
@@brandongordon2392greetings from morocco...i think the olympics this year will be fabulous...the ideas of the stadiums are out of this world..great ideas
This might be one of the greatest Olympic Games of all time
Great Video
Not for athletics. 3 different areas omg.
@@PAINNN666 There's only Stade de France for track&field.
@@ogamiitto8627 That's good news.
The others which were mentioned are probably only used because the race walk and marathon runs through them
Tokyo had 10 more events than in Paris (339 vs 229) and had 3 more exclusive sports at the program (Baseball, Softball & Karate) vs 1 exclusive sport in Paris (Breakdance, a very controversial choice).
If it hadn't been for the covid-19 and the lockdowns, Tokyo would have been the greatest of all times.
this is how it should be. Use the landscape to host and put everything back the way it was, and use existing venues when possible. Inexpensive, sustainable, and practical.

Worth noting that infamous and famous are not the same!
Yeah I kept thinking that.
Haha, yeah my bad. Will make sure not to mix them up in the future!
Thanks for including the para events.
Wow looks like all systems go for Paris 2024..cant wait for the opening rites since it will be the 1st time to happen outside a stadium..
Paris truely has it all... And for the few things it doesn't have, France has it covered: both in it's vast "domestic" territory AND in it's overseas territory.
More than anything these Olympics highlight the vast reach of France, which to this day remain as one of the most influential nation on earth, while other European former colonial nations have "shrinked" in economy and influence
Another interesting and well-made video. I'm happy to see the host in front of the camera. I always liked his voice, and as I imagined, he is adorable as I imagined. So cute 🫠😉
A complete overview of the Olympic sites. Welcome to France to visitors from all over the world . And if you can visit the other regions. It’s nice and much cheaper than Paris !
This is almost like the world Fair exposition of Paris in 1889 and 1900
Amazing. Paris will be a lovely olympic games.
The Tokyo Olympics were held using Korea's cutting-edge technology (5G communication, advanced security system, card payment system, advanced doping system, etc.), but since France is an advanced country, it can be held using its own technology.
Thank you! 🙏🏾Awesome video.🥇
Alhough there is merit in developing whole new arenas and purpose built spaces for the Olympics (case example: London Olympic Park) that can facilitate regeneration, i do believe the Paris Olympic games have led a new trend here.
I think it's brilliant that they can sustainably host all the events, whilst celebrating the historic architecture and repurposing the most adaptable spaces
The amazing thing is that Paris Olympic aims to do both, in Seine Saint Denis, just outside of Paris, the poorest region of France, there was a lack of public swimming pools and the facilities build for the Olympics will solve the problem, same for transportation. So far so good in terms of Urban renewal
Thank you for this in-depth and very well-made documentary. Just one thing, perhaps you should also have mentioned the titanic project to clean up the Seine and make it swimmable for the Olympic Games. For me, improving the quality of the Seine is one of the most impressive projects - if not the most impressive - of all. Anyway, all my congratulations and keep it up!!! 😊
Great informative Video. Thank You. I have never been to France, but all the stadiums/venues and the history of the city, makes me want to visit France as my next destination. I may not be able to go Olympics, especially everything will be very expensive, i rather watch it on TV and then visit all the places, especially all the historic places and museums in a bit quiet, so I can immersive myself into its rich glory and architecture. I am DEF watch the Paris olymypics, i think the Opening Ceremony on Seine is going to be Epic. ... Keep making videos... keep us posted...maybe do an Update right around the end of JUNE to show us what the progress is and what is completed and what is still missing, since I already know that not all projects..in terms of Infra for the city, like cleaning the Seine and the Underground Metro projects are most likely not going to be complete.
Thank You. Fun watch.
Great job!

I’m so excited for the Paris Olympics, sustainability and rejuvenation hopefully benefiting all French people and its visitors love Australia
This Olympics is ground breaking, how did we go from Paris olympics to Tahiti🤯
Kudos to France! This looks like most sustainable olympics in almost 2-3 decades. IOC still has a lot more it can do to make olympics viable in the next few decades.
I think they should seriously consider co-hosting between multiple cities or even countries (2-3 main clusters). No city needs 2 dozen stadiums!
At 15:30: why is the Ryder’s Cup “infamous”? Please explain.
It was ironic I think, the main stand on the hole 1 was sick, One of the best ryder in recent years, ambiance wise.

Bonne chance !
For those wondering about where Goalball will be played, during the Paralympics, it will be at South Paris Arena. I think the people doing this video might have forgotten it.
At 9:55: what makes the stadium “infamous”? Kindly, inform.
Olympic stadiums often end up being disused white elephants, so maybe that's what he was referring to?
"Infamous" was also used when talking about a golf competition. Maybe it was wrongly used as a synonym of "famous", like flammable and inflammable.
I’m going!
Very brilliant ideas in promoting tourism by hosting Olympics!
Loved your video and this is the first adult summer Olympics that will have break dancing, so which venue is it in?
At the Concorde Plazza
to be fair, Paris La Defense Arena is not the biggest indoor Arena in Europe. That's the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid now.
Some Venues look like they are opened up to the city.
Think Napoleon can open the venue at the Invalides?
great video I learned a lot. I hope india can host olympics one day.
Мост Александра 3, как иронично...
Brisbane needs to take note of this
Compared to this, we're stuffed. We just don't have the level of permanent venues that France has. It's going to cost us a LOT!
5:20 wasn't the parc des princes opened in 1897?
It has been a playing field, then a stadium. But the former stadium has been completely destructed to make the new one in early 70's, and the Paris outer ring road that goes beneath it. So unlike others stadium in the video, it has not been a renovation.
@@thomasb.8808 also why not lyon stadium name after the club like parc olympique lyonnais?

Enjoyable video. A little creative but hopefully positive criticism. know that you sound like you’re reading off of a script and you always end with your inflection going up. Think about how you talk to regular people and try to bring that into your reading on the video.😊
I’m not sure you understand what the word infamous means.
Looks like the official Olympics PR team nott wrote most of these comments. Sad.
Normal that he wants it to be spectacular...they created the Olympic games.

This is how its supposed to be done. Nort like other countries wasting money. And abandoning big stadiums right after the Olympics. Very smart move by Paris, France.
They clearly have the most specatular venues in Olympic history. But the distances even within Paris are substantial. It's nice to not have closed Olympics in a separate park, but it comes with a lot of organisational challenges. They are taking a risk here and I hope it pays off.
For the future, using existing infrastructure is better. But yes, it will not be close in a park (so a little bit more difficult to access for the spectators).
And in the Paris region, there was no room to create a park reuniting a majority of venues. it would have been far away from Paris, and destroying farmers lands.
The venues sure look great but all prices in Paris are going crazy and are making life for residents unbearable. Most French and Parisians are already planning on going away to flee the crowd. The transport system is not ready at all to handle that many tourists and most promises, like a safe and clean river Seine, will not be delivered.
We also need to talk about homeless people and migrants who are forcefully taken away to hide poverty from the world. Also, many students were excluded from their apartments to host tourists or athletes. I know it could not sound as scandalous as other Olympic games but it needs to be noticed.
Its less than 3 months away from the summer Olympic and theres obly rendering?????
Where's the actual building??
I'm not an Olympic fan nor someone who watches them but u am excited
You want to see construction sites?
@@innosam123 Yes. Construction sites are real.
most of them are easy and quick to build. You can't build them too early because it will close the traffic. But For example, at la Concorde or Eiffel Tower , it already started this month (I don't know for the others)
@@amaury784
So Paris plan to build them fast and quick overnight like refugees camp? Thats not very impressive.

With such distances, some athletes are hardly going to be able to visit any other town except where their own events will be happening.

Great video, but let’s be honest: The people of Teahupo’o were not asked if they want to host the surfing competitions. On top of that, the organizers had to build a new judging tower in the middle of a reef destroying corals in the process - even though they already had an existing wooden judging tower. The locals called it another “symbol of colonial impression”. So let’s not act like all is fun and sunshine at these Games.
Let's be honest: only those who really care for surfing will go there, as the Olympics takes too short & many events happen at the same time.
@@jgr7487 Exactly, then why not hold the event in France (multiple French coastal cities offered to host the events)
There is democracy in French Polynesia and the rights of the population are the same as in mainland France. If a majority of the population wants independence, they can move towards a referendum on self-determination/independence.
Like the rest of the French overseas territories, and as some have already done in the past.
Calling it a "symbol of colonial oppression" is completely hypocritical: they have chosen to remain dependent on France. These territories are no longer colonies since they were given the choice of staying or becoming independent.
It's simply the government that imposes on such and such a city/region to do such and such a thing, as in mainland France. And some people agree and others don't, so they complain about it, which is perfectly legitimate.
Teahupo'o is already known for surf events though ? Obviously they were asked for it, as there are many sites in France yearning to host it too

13:30 Treaty of Versailles (1919) didn't end WW1. WW1 ended in 1923 with Treaty of Lausanne.
Just get a life man. WWI lasted from 1914 to 1918. Most people don't care about a peace treaty between the big boys and Turkey
It would have been funny if he had listed "where were signed the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, ..., 7th, & 8th Treaty of Versailles".
Just because most of the countries that were a part of WWI were also signees of the Treaty of Lausanne, doesn't mean it had anything to do with the WWI. The Treaty of Versailles ended the WWI. The Treaty of Lausanne was about the dissolution of the Ottoman empire after the Greco-Turkish wars, the creation of the modern Turkish state, new borders between Turkey and Greece, Bulgaria and Romania and the future of the Ottoman territories that would later become the independent Arab countries (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria....). It also governed the use of the Bosporus strait (before the Montreal convention) and gave the immunity to the Turks for their genocide of the their Greek and Armenian population.
Si les épreuves de surf se maintiennent aux jeux olympiques pour les décennies à venir, cela va devenir discriminant pour les nations qui n'ont pas d'accès à la mer. Pour les villes de Vienne, Budapest, Prague,...
C'est pas faux..

I dont think people actually realise how horrific Paris is during summer.
The compact city layout of the stone buildings retains the day heat only to radiate it out at night, and no one uses ac units except for expensive hotels.
Everyone lets their dog 💩 on the pavement which gets brushed into the gutter and later flushed with water every now and then so the smells are vomit-inducing.
And the influx of tourists and pickpockets make moving around the city terribly unpleasant.
Notwithstanding the professional gangs of fake beggars are hardcore pushy and i doubt the police will give a sh if you're being harassed because they'll be busy with basic Olympic security.
The Olympics will exacerbate all this x10. Yuck.
I wish they had given the games to another french city. The rest of France is so so much better than Paris.
