Hi Laura, I had taken a long break of 11yrs..I want to get back to work. I’m confused at times, at times lack motivation and confidence. How do I go about Iv previous experience in Training/HR…last experience in Supply chain (by fluke) didn’t continue after that. Please suggest what I should be doing
Hi, I am restarting my career after being a stay at home mom. I am back in the HR-role that l left more then 10 years ago. But I feel my educational background makes me more qualified then the role I am currently in. I feel lucky to be hired back, but I feel I have more qualifications with my project management master and MBA then my current role is utilizing. I guess I am looking for a role I can use my educational experience in. Does BA fit in HR ?
Thank you dear. I took a short break around 3 months break to just focus on my self ( my fitness goals) but my program manager did ask me this question What have you been up to the last couple of months? FYI I am still in my break and I don’t know how to answer professionally 🤷🏽♂️ your help will be highly appreciated 👏🏼
The best solution is to be honest and be clear about why you are now ready to get back to work. A few months is not a long time, but if you have a longer break then brushing up on your skills can also be an important aspect of your readiness to communicate.
Bridging the Gap alright noted with so much thanks. But I have a got one more question Is it best to respond their question while I am in the middle of the break or when I am ready to get back to work !
Yes I went into early retirement from 2 cancers that consumed 15 years, and now recovered. I guess I can blame being over qualified for Goodwill, and have an engineering degree, and 15 years of retail sales. Seeking part time, minimum wage job because I'm limited on what I can earn.
I'm currently on my 9th month unemployed looking to transition into a business analyst role and have undertaken 3 courses to upskill, but no interviews and constant rejections even for junior BA roles. My credit card is almost full and not sure what to do any more.
HI there! BA transitions can be difficult - identifying and positioning your transferable experience is really important. Sometimes it does make sense to start in a different role that can lead to business analysis. Here are some ideas: www.bridging-the-gap.com/13-jobs-that-lead-to-a-business-analyst-job/
Im glad that I encountered this. Im in a career break for 1 yr and 5 mos for taking care of my mother. I ready to get back into the workforce. In my resume do I list the career break on top like its the latest job experience I have or should I list that at the bottom? Thanks for ur feedback.
Please suggest me a job oriented course. I have done my B.E in CS and have worked in IT industry for 7 yrs. My last working month was January 2014. I don't want to persue any full time job as I have a small child. I am looking for some course that can help me get a suitable part time/home based job which I can do during my child's school hours.
Awesome 👌

Hi Fareeha, Yes there are BAs in the HR domain. They often work on implementations of HR systems.
Thanks for the info. So where would I start in order to transition? I am not an IT person. But I do have the project management skills.
Thanks a lot.
Recovery from addiction is a different reason, but still need to get back in there.
You are so welcome! Best of luck with your transition back into the workforce.
i realize it's pretty randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to watch newly released series online ?
