    BA Core skills
1 Communication - including using pictures
2 Problem Solving: what the problem actually is? the benefit of the business?
3 Critical Thinking: are actually solving the problem. look broadly to see all the likely solutions

First thing I like about this video is you gave me two useful informations in the first 3 mins. which allowed me to keep watching. Second you kept me at understanding soft skills. As far as this skill I don't know what I don't know, but I do know who I can learn from. Literally the 4th or 5th channel I've watched from some top 10 list of channels on BA I saw. You get to the point and you are clear. Cheers!

I have an interview tomorrow for a BA position (after passing the screening with the recruiter), and I was looking at videos on BA. (I do have a verbal offer already with another company for a more technical role. But until I have the official offer, I continue to interview, at the same time enhancing my communication skills with the interviewers.) I saw your interview with Toni Martin. When I was just starting on Salesforce studying on Trailhead, I was supplementing my studies with webinars and events that give me ideas on what types of jobs I can get as a Salesforce professional. I loved Toni Martin’s BA Summit last year, even though I barely understood how it was to be a BA having come from a healthcare background as a bedside RN for more than 15 years. I did realize that I have a lot of the soft skills already, and just needed a formal introduction to the BA role as it relates to Salesforce/tech. I am so glad I found your channel. I am going to check out your website to supplement what I will be learning OTJ. Thank you so much!

This was super helpful, thank you! I’m earning my master’s in Data Science and generally loving what I’m learning, but been having the realization that I’m not the biggest fan of the general environment of it for working purposes. I think I’m better fit for the “typical” BA position for sure, so going to switch my self-study to more of a focus on that

Hi. I am a technical writer and instructional designer. I am interested in becoming a business analyst. When I see those available roles, a business degree is usually mentioned. I spoke with a representative from Simplilearn about a Masters Certificate which seems to have good, current industry courses. I would like to hear more about your training program. Thank you.

I'm currently in a volunteer position and was given some direction but not told how to accomplish any of the work with a format or style. So I feel as if the work and steps to get the work done needs a protocol of action. How do you create without feeling like you might be stepping on anyone's toes. Because I never want anyone to feel as if they have to do it my way.

Juan, Congrats on this opportunity! This would be a good video to walk you through the BA process: th-cam.com/video/cHJkPdBuF4E/w-d-xo.html&t
If your organization isn't giving you direction, they probably are expecting you to be bringing an approach. Just make sure you spend time in steps 1 and 2, so you understand their expectations of you and the project.

    Good day,
Now a days most of the companies post jobs based on industry based experience...this is really painful if someone doesn't specific background of the industry. Pleas advice how to overcome this.
Also interview is scripted based of industry experience company is into.
    Thanks!!

    • @BridgingtheGapBA

While a lot of BA jobs do require industry experience, some do not. For someone just getting started I recommend staying in your current industry so you can leverage that experience into a BA role.

@@diwaker8616 When you look at BA job postings, you'll see jobs where industry experience is not listed as a requirement or where it's preferred rather than required. Focus more attention on those, and on any industries where you do have experience.
As part of my COVID-response series for Business Analysts, I just added a video on how to transfer your BA experience across industries: th-cam.com/video/Zjcsy7ZeBKI/w-d-xo.html

I suggest you should also look for a professional CV writing service. Not just some dodgy "career coach", because you already know what you are looking for, but somebody who will write a CV for specific jobs, same for your Linkedin profile, so you'll pop up in searches. A professional CV writer will know how to measure your transferrable skillset and adapt it.
