I was driving my disabled dad around recently, using his placard. Someone next to me started bitching cause I got out of the car just fine. I completely ignored him. My dad was coming around from the back seat passenger side. His legs don't work well, but his ears and mouth are fine. He laid into the stranger so bad, he couldn't get a word in, turned red, and just walked away.

Wedding story: my female pal had no interest in marriage. She went into the business track instead. She was very successful. In her mid 30’s she met a man who was much like her. Much to her surprise they started dating. They truly hit off. They decided to get married. His family was shocked at the news. It took time to convince them that it was not a prank. Then they were over the moon in happiness. Then they went to her parents. Her father was fighting back tears of joy. Her Mom stood up, left the room & returned with a thick wedding planning binder. Mom then told the just engaged couple what the marriage & the reception would be like. The Couple looked at each other & said “No”. Mom was very displeased & told her daughter & fiancé not to expect any money for the Wedding. My friends had a combined was near 7 figure income. The engaged couple then said “Ok”. Mom then played her trump card…that neither she or her husband could come to such a wedding. My friend turned to her father & asked who would take her down the aisle? Would there be no Father-Daughter dance? Father said he was coming even if it was stag. Mom left the room.
The Couple ran corporations. They put the wedding together in record time. After everything was password protected & locked in stone my friend reached out to her Mother for assistance in small things. Mom helped & at the reception she tried to claim that everything was done under her supervision. The newly married couple & most their friends/family just rolled their eyes & let it go.

One of my dear friends was kicked out of her house when she was 12 or 13, and my parents took her in when they saw her shivering outside the (closed for the night) bus depot. With one thing and another they got her to a distant relative’s house, who sued for custody. That took years to settle, and two days after it was settled (and she was something like 16 and a half) the winner of the custody battle was run down and killed. It would have been ruled as a traffic accident, except that, apparently on the way home, there was a voice message on her cell phone saying that “now that your new mother is dead, you have to come home now.” That and the damage to their car from the now dead new mother and the other forensic details got her to be an emancipated child status, her birth dad in jail. 30 years later, they got in touch and were demanding bone marrow to save their other child. Not asking, demanding. So, yes, I understand the “no, you all are not related to me, my family all died when I was 16 and a half, I will not be sacrificing anything for any of you.”

@@llyallowyn8127 yeah, she got out of an abusive family mostly in one piece, but it was touch and go for a while. Her father was a big man, excused in high school, because, as a football player “boys will be boys”, and then later as a salesman, “well, it doesn’t really matter, he closes the deals, right?” Type of person. Until he did go to jail. I was able to get her a job in my company, that suited her time for school, and still earned her enough that she could manage a room-share with some other single folks at my company. I lost track of her when she went off to university, but she got back in touch after graduation, to ask for a work recommendation for her new job, and we stayed in touch since. I kind-of feel older sibling toward her, although my late wife was more mother than sister-in-law toward her, at times. She ate with my family or at my parents house about once a week (more or less) as an emancipated teen, mostly because we treated her like the adult she wanted to be seen as, rather than some child, pretending. Sometimes she even spent holidays with us, but mostly, actually, enjoyed the quiet in the shared house where she lived, during holidays, because everyone else was gone. Young lady had it rough, but the woman she is now is a wonderful person.

He was FIVE when he had his stroke!
Another case (different Children's Miracle Network telethon) a woman was being interviewed after she saw her daughter who was dying. Turns out that the daughter had Tay-Sachs, but neither parent had a family history of that disease as far as they knew. Flour, eggs, sugar (powered and granulated), milk and heavy cream (assuming it's a whipped cream icing) in addition to whatever flavor and add-on ingredients you want add up. Don't believe me, look up a recipe for JUST a basic vanilla cake and the prices for the ingredients. I had just turned 18 so i guess they thought i was a virgin, needing counseling?! Who knows! There was no weðding night as we had to pack for honeymoon at 6 am. Almost missed flight and then stay tuned for honeymoon from hell! Lol. Looking back, we should have eloped and avoided everyones opinions and grandure. I was making $2.25 an hour and i paid for my bridesmaids dresses and shoes. They picked the dresses from a new seamstress wanting to start a new business. The dresses were stunning! I dont understand the destination weddings, destination bridal parties, paying for hair and makeup etc! Thats insane! We told her it was none of her business, and we just walked inside. Not long after, the overhead speaker said something like, "Could the owner of the make and model of my dad's car and license plate please report to your car immediately" So we stop everything we are doing and go check it out.
When we get there, we find the woman standing there smorking, with two people standing there looking at the car like they were trying to find something. One of them spoke to us, saying they received a report that someone was using a fake disabled placard/sticker, and they had to come look at it, but it was real and up-to-date. When the attendant turned on the "Now Boarding" sign, they crowded the entryway. BUT, the attendant reached between them and pulled me to the front so I could preboard. When they started loudly complaining, he told them that after preboarding ended they would have to still wait as the airline boarded numerically by seat number and they were WAY at the back. Then, he grinned at me and walked me to the gate where he had a stewardess help me walk to my seat.

Right now you're not yet a customer because I haven't taken on the contract nor would I be able to accomplish this without losing money so I am declining if you come back with something approaching the $800.00 we can talk, assuming I'll still have the time as vacancies fill up quickly. However you will quite likely hear a very similar number to the $800 I quoted you from any other custom bakery in the area. I have a disability parking permit, for when I drive my mother. I use it only when she is in the car. She has mobility issues. What I do is when the disability parking spots are all full, I check to see if the cars parked there have the permits. Every now and then one doesn't. Which really makes me mad, because then I have to park really far away from the door and push my mother in a wheelchair through the entire damned car park. And Yes I report the entitled scat to the centre management of the car park.
Once you have to look after a mobility impaired person, you find out really fast how bad those people really have it in terms of being able to get around. And get really mad when regular people without permits just park wherever they want "oh its only for a few minutes" I don't care. No permit, no parking in a disabled spot!

I had a situation similar to the plane story where the couple were complaining about the passenger being a bigger person. I'm a bigger person, but not so big that I spill into the other seat. That being said bc of how uncomfortable plane seats are & how many ridiculous ppl there are who like to complain just for the sake of complaining or bc they think it will get them an upgrade, I almost always purchase 2 seats. So this 1 flight I had the window, middle seat & this guy gets on who has the aisle seat. He immediately starts complaining that he won't have any room bc I'm so large yada yada & he should be upgraded. The FA told him in no uncertain terms was that happening, but that the plane wasn't full so he was free to find another seat so long as it didn't belong to someone else. So that's what he did, in the mean time there were a few late ppl getting on the plane 2 of which was a young woman & a toddler & u could tell the woman had been crying. Well since all airlines care about are selling seats there were no other 2 seats together, so the woman & FA asked if her toddler could sit in my middle seat to which I said yes. Idk what was going on yet, but clearly this woman was dealing with something, she even broke down in more tears when I said yes, bc apparently they asked a few other passengers if they minded switching seats, but of course they refused. Turns out she booked a last minute emergency flight bc her mother had been in a terrible accident & the Dr. didn't believe she'd make it thru the night & she was trying to get there in time to say goodbye. Anyway turns out the seat the AH picked did infact belong to someone & he ended up in between 2 ppl larger than me. The minute he went to open his mouth to complain about going back to his original seat everyone within earshot of what had happened shamed him so bad that he closed his mouth & didn't open it again for the rest of the flight. As for me I'm glad I was able to be there for her during such a stressful time & help with the baby. I ended up making a friend on that flight & we're still friends 10yrs later. Also mama Deb, her mom made what the drs called a miraculous recovery & she's still alive & well. The icing on the cake, when we landed we were told that the guy in the window seat next to the jerk kept getting up constantly thru the entire flight to go to the bathroom. Idk if the guy had a weak bladder or if he was doing it just to mess with the jerk, but I thought that was hilarious. As for the cake story, when my sister got married 15yrs ago she paid $1200 for a 3 tiered cake big enough to feed 75 ppl. Which was nowhere near as elaborate as that woman wanted. It was pearly white, with some silver & red buttercream hearts that were made to look kind of 3-D. The cake was based off of a topper my sister bought on a whim a cpl yrs before. She wanted something understated, but beautiful & the baker definitely understood the assignment & that cake was worth every penny.

Regarding the sixth (handicapped placard) story, since 2020, I've had an emergency total hip replacement (luckily squeezed in during the worst of the pandemic), three heart attacks 6 & 1/2 wks later, due to stubborn blood clot resulting from the surgery and just recently, 2 back surgeries (1st a spinal stenosis surgery and koflex clips for 2 ruptured discs and 1 & 1/2 yrs later, total lumbar reconstruction, including another spinal stenosis procedure and a 6 vertebrae spinal fusion (donor bone grafts, steel rods and more screws than I care to count). For the past 4 and a 1/2 years, I've used a walker and then graduated to a cane and mobility scooters when I go to the store. I've improved greatly but I will always need the cane due to partial paralysis in my right leg from spinal cord damage and the mobility scooters for the same reason. I was in my late 50s for the hip replacement and 62 for my last spinal surgery and have been harassed twice for using the scooters at the store. Inconvenient Karens but nothing I can't deal with. The handicapped placards are a different story. Where I live, if you drive, you can get the handicapped placard for free. My hip and back were the result of severe arthritis from an accident I had back in 1999. Unfortunately I also lost vision in my right eye from the same accident. Because I can't drive or own a car, I, because I'm MORE disabled, have to pay $75 a year for the placard. It doesn't make sense and doesn't seem fair. Not a huge deal. My kids and ex wife volunteer to take me to the store, drop me off and pick me up in front of the store while they go park. It just doesn't seem fair that I get penalized because I'm more disabled than the people that can drive.

Story 6: Everyone knows that Karens are judgMENTAL about appearances and prone to jumping to wildly unfounded conclusions. They're almost definitionally 3 beers short of a 6-pack.
I saw a vid earlier today where a woman describes how her dad gets parking tickets twice a month for using handicap spaces. But once the line at the courthouse saw him, he got waved to the front by everyone there. Then the clerk saw him and immediately summoned the judge. And the judge saw him and immediately cancelled the tickets. Then OP reveals a pic of her dad, who just so happens to have a prosthetic arm and leg.

On this side of the world, although the judge may be sympathetic, you'll still get a fine unless you actually have an "accessable parking permit" regardless of how disabled you actually happen to be at the time.
That said, I'm presuming the dad in your story does have the appropriate permit and the parking officer wasn't paying attention.

It does require firm boundaries, though.

My mother was handicapped and stopped her car behind a car parked illegally in the last handicap spot and called the police. She waited there until the police arrived and wrote a ticket.

Fluff, "lolled" is a perfectly fine verb. It means "laying back, lying idly, chilling".
It does NOT mean "Laughing Out Loud", nor should it be spelled out when speaking...😮

15:54 this is the exact moment this story lost me. I’m a former bank employee, all names on an account have to sign off on the account being closed. He couldn’t just close it without his wife signing an agreement to close it. What he COULD do and what the bank should have done was put a stop payment in place for all the rest of the checks in that checkbook and freeze the account into a restricted status so only deposits, not withdraws can come through. Then if the wife agrees, the account could be closed at any point in the future

Story 3: Sounds like a case of heterophobia. It's clear OP was looking for a fight given how she's calling people "ignorant" and her feigning her own ignorance. I would say everyone is the ahol here. Kate was just being selfish. The parents should have kept their promise regardless of what happened to OP's fiance before as this is still OP's first wedding. OP should have tried harder to talk things out and addressed the real reason why she was getting push back. Clearly this was never about who OP married or why but OP wanted it to be so she could be offended in response.

I have a ryobi 40v mower .. whenever i stop to take a break or whatever i always take the batteries out and the safety key thing so if someone tried to steal it they would have to buy both in order to make it work; otherwise it would just be a lawn decoration LOL

People never seem to understand how much cakes cost. I just bought a one tier 10 inch cake with the most basic decorations and it was over $50. Good luck to her lol. Also the fact that she started with “I need to know you’re serious” means she was turned down by all the other bakeries. Whenever a client says “I got ghosted by my previous baker” we all know what that means

just a note on the airline seat... "lolled" is a word that means "sit, lie, or stand in a lazy, relaxed way", which is how OP napped.
OP did NOT "ell-oh-ell ed" around napping!

I had a handicapped placard (bad back), and had a really nice older man kindly say that he had a friend that needed one too, but he was a Korean war vet. We smiled at each other, wished each other a good day, and I’m still not sure if he was implying I was too young for a disability or what but I think he was just trying to be nice.

I'm disabled as well, at 24 y/o. I qualify for a disabled placard. Born with all of them. My doctor has actually commented that I am more disabled than my 50 y/o mother who has cancer.
Unfortunately for me, NONE of my disabilities are visible. Not a single one. My mother and I want to get me a mobility scooter or motorised wheelchair or something similar as it would give me so much more independence as I can walk maybe a max of 5 meters unaided (yeah, really short) but I constantly worry I'll be seen as a fake or a fraud and yelled at by some Karen because I'm "too young" and "just fat" (I AM fat, to be fair, but it's also hard to exercise when disabled) and don't have any prosthetics or anything.
