    It essentially cured my ADHD, which was severe. Saved my life. No side effects - except maybe a little blunting of enthusiasm but I will take that any day. 200mg once a day, plus some Tyrosine.

    I really like these kinds of videos because the honest people are the ones who take the supplements themselves and see the results firsthand, rather than just advising others or promoting a supplement without personally testing it.

    I didn't know about the benefits for gut inflammation - that's helpful. I add it to coffee occasionally, and I like the effect from decaf green tea. I must be sensitive to it though, because I only need 30 - 50mg to feel benefits. More than that and I sometimes feel like it makes me a little slow.

    Thank you for this video, it's very informative!
    If you take other supplements with the L-theanine, does it dilute the effects? In other words, is it best to take it by itself with the coffee to feel more potency? I recently added magnesium glycinate & St. John's Wort to my morning routine & noticed that the effects weren't as good when I was just taking L-theanine.

    • @iaminkaland
      @iaminkaland  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, some supplements may always interact with each other. Magnesium glycinate is also GABAergic. You may feel too sedated due to that.

    I was watching one of your previous videos... How does L-Theanine compare with Saffron? Also, what are your thoughts on Ginkgo Biloba?

    • @iaminkaland
      @iaminkaland  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Saffron may also help stimulate neurotransmitters. It possesses anti-depressant and anti-anxiety properties. If you're looking for focus and cognitive benefits, go with L-theanine. If you want mood support for depression or anxiety, try saffron. Ginkgo Biloba is known as "nootropic," but I'm not convinced about the effect/risk ratio. There seem to be some concerns about toxicity. I almost included it in a book chapter on nootropics I was writing, but after looking at the data, I decided to exclude it because I wasn't convinced enough. Personally, I don't use or generally recommend it.

      There's a lot of research on nutrients and supplements. Some are more preliminary and experimental, and others are more researched and well-established. Doing background research and understanding them thoroughly before trying is always good. Before trying a new supplement, You must know your own body and other conditions, medications, and contraindications

      @@iaminkaland I feel great just with one coffee a day , until I quit It.
      A little ciclotimic I guess, but on fires . Cofee has the super power to turn an absolutely meaningless life into pure passion, just like sugar does .
      Without popcorn , coca cola , coffee and nicotine your favorite movie is really boring , and you can't stand your best friend, wife or hobby .
      Maybe nicotine is mandatory to live in society and don't kill the cat going to the job but I also think that it's about the mold that makes the cup of coffee more dangerous.
      In general I didn't feel any inconveniences, but a few months ago , even on a high fat ketogenic diet , I did a pretty long intense fasting , then I started to react pretty intensely and emotionally to coffee on cups, any kind of coffee, also I had pain in my ankles , hands , and legs . I quitted coffee for a few days doing cold exposure and sprint and even then I used to have dreams about coffee. I thought ok... That's due to parasites , they are falling apart . It was the same on a carnivore modified diet . Now my health had improved a lot , and the body and mind performance. If I want a surplus of energy I can take a pill of caffeine sometimes and I don't feel a little bit bipolar type 2 during the day , just an asshole, as always .
      I guess sometimes parasites are covered in fat and water and you don't feel them but they are affecting you anyway .
      I think that parasites , (overall dysbiosis) are the cause of almost all illnesses ).
      400.000 years ago there were almost no carbs, just cold , fasting , animal to hunt and the necessity to move or die .
      When we started agriculture we introduce microorganisms that depend on sugar , but we thrive on ketones, there is a warfare , they want sugar , that causes us diabetes , cancer, mental issues .... All the modern illnesses .
      I don't know why but coffee also contribute by mold maybe , and depleting minerals your boy need to fight overall infection.
      Isotonic sea water could help with that , a real source of mineral , comercial salt long-term act like heavy metal and metabolic disruptors I guess .

    Theanine can treat depression and allow the brain to release as much dopamine as possible, but if you consume too much theanine, it will have a psychedelic effect, which is very useful for treating patients with depression or neurological diseases. For weakened patients, it will bring serious harm by continuing to rely on theanine, which not only aggravates the state of depression, but also leads to addictive side effects.

    • @iaminkaland
      @iaminkaland  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
      Based on current evidence, theanine may help with anxiety and depression through increasing levels of GABA. serotonin, and dopamine. It's currently not established as a treatment for depression, and the evidence does not suggest it can produce psychedelic effects, even at high doses. Studied how it can have an anti-psychotic effect
      pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21861094/
      pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33268546/
      Theanine is generally considered non-addictive without withdrawal symptoms.
      As with any supplement, staying within the scientifically established doses is the key.
      If you have any sources or studies that suggest otherwise, I'd be interested in learning more. Understanding the basis of your perspective would be really helpful. Thanks!
