For the first time in my life I wore a dress everyday in a month. It allowed me to actually identify my style as an adult woman. I recognized my preferred silhouette and level of modesty/reservation. @djb1164 I did it with 10 dresses and only wore 8 of them more than once. I wore a couple 3x. These were the ones that had my favorite style and comfort. 8 is plenty.

When I was postpartum with my third baby. A medical mess and in the WOSRT place I’ve ever been. A friend of mine started a clothing MLM and she gifted me several beautiful dresses!!!! And encouraged me to wear them everyday. And because I could breastfeed in them they were amazing and helped me get through. My boys really loved seeing me in petty dresses! So inspired !!!!

Nikki I just wanted to share my recent move forward in wearing a dress each day! I always wear dresses every single day in my daily life at home….but my husband and I are lucky enough to be able to travel from Australia to Europe and the UK every couple of years, and I’ve always dragged out jeans and pants because I couldn’t see how I was going to do it in dresses. Well this trip I have!! I packed nothing but dresses, and layering undergarments in case of cold weather (which we’ve had) and it has all worked out beautifully!! More importantly, I have felt like ME….and way more “put together” and my usual feminine self! To any ladies facing the same dilemma…..it IS doable!! ❤️

Your wardrobe is one of the few I've seen that has more color, quality and a feminine flair which is what I strive for. I just happen to be leaning minimalistic with mine because of the quality issue with women's clothing. The cost per use. There's not an abundance of things I would be willing to pay for when they would only last me a few months as well as needing to be sorted in the laundry so they don't mess up something else. That's one way of approaching the cluttered feeling.

Oh I so agree about the "play dress-up" comment for weddings. I always feel a little embarrassed that everyone looks like they're wearing a costume instead of their actual clothing. It would be wonderful to raise the bar, and I personally have a lot of improvement to make in this area!
Dearest Nikki, a wonderful video as always but there's something I'd like to bring up. By all means, please know this is **NOT** a complaint! At all. Just something that I'd like to make aware in a way, that if I were making videos, I'd want to know myself. During this video, the time thst you stood in front of the camera, because almost all your visual background was the same color and tone, it was very very hard to watch. One of the reasons I enjoy your videos is because of the softness you bring in your technique of filming. But the one resonating color is actually very harsh. I found myself having to look away and just listen. When you tossed in snippets of your color theory of your baskets and wardrobe, it was a relief. Please dont think this is a complaint, please. I'm just a viewer who thinks that adding some....well....maybe dimension or depth sometimes when you are in one position for an extended period of time, would help make viewing easier. I got to going thru and watching several and it seems to ge when you are staning in front of the dresser by the window. Maybe its the light from the window? I just wanted you to know. Not asking you to change all your videos! Just know this comes from an older lady who is not judging but simply wanting to share a thought with love behind it.❤❤❤

I hate wearing dresses or skirts. I don’t wear panty hose and at 67 my legs have some broke spider veins so I definitely don’t wear short dresses. I may wear a maxi skirt with flip flops in the summer. I just don’t feel comfortable in a dress. Your dresses are lovely!
I know the feeling. I can't stand my legs but I love dresses and skirts. I avoided anything that wasn't maxi length until a few years ago when I dared to show a bit of ankle and even calf at "tea length." Now I'm brave enough to go knee length or even (on RARE occasions) above my knees. I'm still super self-conscious but I'm too old to care that much anymore. Life it too short. And really, no one who sees you gives a crap. Most probably don't think anything of our legs. I know when I see other women's legs I don't think twice unless they have really nice ones and then I get a twinge of The Green Envy Monster lol
I love your videos and have been taking notes on them. One thing that I have always struggled with is cleaning the home, like I want to b e more poised when I do it and maybe it isn't possible but I want to know how you tackle it please.
Every day is a gift from God to find the beauty and joy (contentment) that He has for us to enjoy. Joy and beauty are found in the details of a flower, a leaf, a brook, the ever changing sky ,the sound of a child’s laughter, playful animals and so much more. Why wouldn’t we dress up and respectively to honor our God?
Loved this series Nikki! I am inspired to wear dresses. I do have a question for you and any other ladies that would like to chime in. How do wear dresses and feel comfortable when you have very pale skin with spider veins and other leg blemishes imperfections? imperfections
I have the same situation. Even though I do not feel the pale color is a problem, that was how God created us, so no need to change that 😊 But I can relate to the feeling not wanting the spider veins to be visible for everyone... I live in Sweden so most of the year it is so cold that it is not a problem since I wear thicker stockings with wool or cashmere that are not see through ( Is stockings the correct word? Like tights but with the sock part as well, all the way from your toes to your waist). In summer I wear very thin, sheer, nylon ones and it helps so that my skincolor looks more even. Or longer dresses if it is so hot that nylons feel uncomfortable. At home I feel ok to wear knee-long dresses without nylons, but when leaving the house I often like to wear them. I hope this can help. Of course everyones situation is unique and it depends on what kind of climate you have and what you feel comfortable to wear. I hope you will find a way to wear dresses that works for you😊❤
Work out your colours! I am a Light Spring and maybe you are too. There are colours that are going to make you look like a lovely porcelain doll 🥰 I used the Colour Me Beautiful system. There are lots of videos about it on TH-cam.
I love wearing only dresses & skirts. The amount of respect that I receive out in public is shocking compared to the times that I didn’t dress beautifully. There was actually a clip of a lady on Instagram walking in public in an elegant gown & accessories. The lady is intentionally being filmed to show everyone’s reactions... I’m sure having someone film you draws attention, too. However, I see the same responses when I’m out often. (And it’s also so eye opening to see how most others are dressed so sloppy in the clip) Men often look, but not in a lustful way. ( I know what that’s like because I dressed immodest when I was young) I’ve even had elderly men stop me to compliment my dress & say “it’s something you don’t see anymore & I respect you.” Most go out of their way to open doors or carry things. It’s mostly elderly women that compliment & most other women give me puzzled looks. I just want to say to most women “you have no idea how much better life could be when you take time to dress beautifully.”
I have never EVER had anyone compliment me wearing dresses and skirts, nor have I ever heard in person anyone else being complimented for wearing dresses and skirts. I've not noticed any looks, either. No one looks twice. No one says anything. I've lived in big cities, suburbs, semi-rural, and rural. I've lived in the Upper Midwest and I've lived in the South. I've visited many places in the US. Nothing. Not a peep. How odd that I've not experienced this yet so many others have. Perhaps someday, though attention is not my goal in dressing the way I do.
Can someone please direct us to shoes that look nice with dresses but are also comfortable and supportive, and I mean seriously comfortable and supportive. So many shoes look dumpy with dresses. Anyone have ideas?
Hi 🤗 I have a super high arch and after decades of dancing, need some serious support for my feet. Here are a couple brands I love that make some really beautiful shoes... Vionic has tons of flats options as well as very comfortable heels. I also love LifeStride and Naturalizer- they have tons of beautiful flats options. I also enjoy dressy boots as I live in a cold climate. I will take out the boot sole and put in a cheap orthotic sole from Dr Scholls! I hope that helps ❤
@@simplycorinne Thanks. I've been wearing Vionic flip flop sandals for years! They are wonderful. I'll check out their flats with paring them with dresses in mind. I also can't stand putting a bare foot inside a shoe, so there's the issue of what type of sock or "footie" to wear. Maybe other people aren't as OCD about their feet??? 😆
Nikki, your posts and especially dress a day series are so inspiring. Participating this year along side others has truly empowered me to embrace my femininity. I appreciate your advice to base my practice by wearing beautiful night gowns to bed which allows me a feminine reset to which I love waking every morning. Oh I so agree about the "play dress-up" comment for weddings. I always feel a little embarrassed that everyone looks like they're wearing a costume instead of their actual clothing. It would be wonderful to raise the bar, and I personally have a lot of improvement to make in this area!
Dearest Nikki, a wonderful video as always but there's something I'd like to bring up. By all means, please know this is **NOT** a complaint! At all. Just something that I'd like to make aware in a way, that if I were making videos, I'd want to know myself.
During this video, the time thst you stood in front of the camera, because almost all your visual background was the same color and tone, it was very very hard to watch. One of the reasons I enjoy your videos is because of the softness you bring in your technique of filming. But the one resonating color is actually very harsh. I found myself having to look away and just listen. When you tossed in snippets of your color theory of your baskets and wardrobe, it was a relief. Please dont think this is a complaint, please. I'm just a viewer who thinks that adding some....well....maybe dimension or depth sometimes when you are in one position for an extended period of time, would help make viewing easier. I got to going thru and watching several and it seems to ge when you are staning in front of the dresser by the window. Maybe its the light from the window?
I just wanted you to know. Not asking you to change all your videos! Just know this comes from an older lady who is not judging but simply wanting to share a thought with love behind it.❤❤❤

I hate wearing dresses or skirts. I don’t wear panty hose and at 67 my legs have some broke spider veins so I definitely don’t wear short dresses. I may wear a maxi skirt with flip flops in the summer. I just don’t feel comfortable in a dress. Your dresses are lovely!
I know the feeling. I can't stand my legs but I love dresses and skirts. I avoided anything that wasn't maxi length until a few years ago when I dared to show a bit of ankle and even calf at "tea length." Now I'm brave enough to go knee length or even (on RARE occasions) above my knees. I'm still super self-conscious but I'm too old to care that much anymore. Life it too short. And really, no one who sees you gives a crap. Most probably don't think anything of our legs. I know when I see other women's legs I don't think twice unless they have really nice ones and then I get a twinge of The Green Envy Monster lol
I love your videos and have been taking notes on them. One thing that I have always struggled with is cleaning the home, like I want to b e more poised when I do it and maybe it isn't possible but I want to know how you tackle it please.

Loved this series Nikki! I am inspired to wear dresses. I do have a question for you and any other ladies that would like to chime in. How do wear dresses and feel comfortable when you have very pale skin with spider veins and other leg blemishes imperfections? imperfections
I have the same situation. Even though I do not feel the pale color is a problem, that was how God created us, so no need to change that 😊 But I can relate to the feeling not wanting the spider veins to be visible for everyone... I live in Sweden so most of the year it is so cold that it is not a problem since I wear thicker stockings with wool or cashmere that are not see through ( Is stockings the correct word? Like tights but with the sock part as well, all the way from your toes to your waist). In summer I wear very thin, sheer, nylon ones and it helps so that my skincolor looks more even. Or longer dresses if it is so hot that nylons feel uncomfortable. At home I feel ok to wear knee-long dresses without nylons, but when leaving the house I often like to wear them. I hope this can help. Of course everyones situation is unique and it depends on what kind of climate you have and what you feel comfortable to wear. I hope you will find a way to wear dresses that works for you😊❤
Work out your colours! I am a Light Spring and maybe you are too. There are colours that are going to make you look like a lovely porcelain doll 🥰 I used the Colour Me Beautiful system. There are lots of videos about it on TH-cam.
PS cute legwarmers and pop socks can help cover veins! I wear a lot of cute socks with heels and flats.

I love wearing only dresses & skirts. The amount of respect that I receive out in public is shocking compared to the times that I didn’t dress beautifully. There was actually a clip of a lady on Instagram walking in public in an elegant gown & accessories. The lady is intentionally being filmed to show everyone’s reactions... I’m sure having someone film you draws attention, too. However, I see the same responses when I’m out often. (And it’s also so eye opening to see how most others are dressed so sloppy in the clip) Men often look, but not in a lustful way. ( I know what that’s like because I dressed immodest when I was young) I’ve even had elderly men stop me to compliment my dress & say “it’s something you don’t see anymore & I respect you.” Most go out of their way to open doors or carry things. It’s mostly elderly women that compliment & most other women give me puzzled looks. I just want to say to most women “you have no idea how much better life could be when you take time to dress beautifully.”
I have never EVER had anyone compliment me wearing dresses and skirts, nor have I ever heard in person anyone else being complimented for wearing dresses and skirts. I've not noticed any looks, either. No one looks twice. No one says anything. I've lived in big cities, suburbs, semi-rural, and rural. I've lived in the Upper Midwest and I've lived in the South. I've visited many places in the US. Nothing. Not a peep.
How odd that I've not experienced this yet so many others have. Perhaps someday, though attention is not my goal in dressing the way I do.
Can someone please direct us to shoes that look nice with dresses but are also comfortable and supportive, and I mean seriously comfortable and supportive. So many shoes look dumpy with dresses. Anyone have ideas?

Vionic has tons of flats options as well as very comfortable heels. I also love LifeStride and Naturalizer- they have tons of beautiful flats options. I also enjoy dressy boots as I live in a cold climate. I will take out the boot sole and put in a cheap orthotic sole from Dr Scholls! I hope that helps ❤

@@simplycorinne Thanks. I've been wearing Vionic flip flop sandals for years! They are wonderful. I'll check out their flats with paring them with dresses in mind. I also can't stand putting a bare foot inside a shoe, so there's the issue of what type of sock or "footie" to wear. Maybe other people aren't as OCD about their feet??? 😆

Nikki, your posts and especially dress a day series are so inspiring. Participating this year along side others has truly empowered me to embrace my femininity. I appreciate your advice to base my practice by wearing beautiful night gowns to bed which allows me a feminine reset to which I love waking every morning. I can't help but replay the music you use throughout your videos in my mind throughout the day.
