The best part about isshin is that he tests every skill the player should have learnt: deflection, sword fights, spear fights, gun fights, unblockable attacks, lighting reversal, aggression, wind attacks similar to those of divine dragon, everything. Together with story relevance, being actually fun to fight and cool factor that makes it a perfect final fight for me.

Gael, Gehrman, SwordSaint are my favorites. All amazing characters, lord, and fights. Currently doing cosplay builds of my boys on ER just cuz I love them so much.
I always loved how the fight with Gael actually felt like what it was: two guys, fighting at the end of the world, for something they won’t even matter in the end, who both have been through hell and back for the sake of their mission, and in the end, whether Gael or you wins, the outcome is the same: giving the Dark Soul to the painter so she can lay a new world. The fight itself, the second and third phase did everything to truly encapsulate that “end of the line” feeling, what with Gael throwing everything he has at you, in a desolate giant dirt-covered ruined city, with lightning falling all around both of you, the OST is top tier… I can’t even put it into words, Gael’s fight is the absolute peak ending.
personally, Mergo's wet nurse is actually one of my favorite bosses in blood borne, and soul of cinder is my favorite boss fight ever (better than Gael personally) but I do generally see those 2 places lower
Honestly, i still prefer gael as the greatest soulsborne final boss ever. But man...Isshin was literally Madara of Sekiroverse. Dude was teased since the intro of the game. And we saw old Isshin being a good guy to the main mc. And then in the climax, he enters from Genichiro's body like some horror movie type sh*t. And we see prime Isshin holy sh*t. The very same man who was being touted as a god lvl samurai and was unbeatable until Sekiro showed up. This intro was like as if Radahn somehow resurrected from dead and arrived as Prime Radahn as the final boss🔥
Personally, Elden Beast is one of my favorite final bosses in any game that I’ve played. His move set is vast, keeping you on your toes through the entire fight. His moves are punishing, meaning that you have to have actual skill to beat the game. The arena was spectacular, solid 10/10 final boss arena. His moves were beautiful. I got everything that I wanted from a final boss in the Elden Beast. The most annoying part was fighting Radagon again and again after I died to the Elden beast. Something else that I found slightly annoying and yet also thoroughly enjoyed was the way that the Elden Beasts moves stacked up. He would shoot Elden stars, and then Rain of Arrows, followed by Sacred Sword or Golden Wave. And immediately after he would go into the Elden ring attack, or breath fire that I have to run across the whole arena to escape. It was annoying to deal with, but it gave me a sense of realism, because that’s similar to what would actually happen in real life. A barrage of attack after attack, taking any opening that you can get to deal some damage. All in all, loved the fight. 9/10
I had an awesome time against the elden beast using a secret method most souls players going to elden ring don't know : it's called ranged attacks. Radagon was the big skill check melee fight Elden Beast was the big high fantasy fight between a genius mage and a cosmic entity trading powerful magic rays between each others. Also Elden Beast dodges is more about figuring out the flaws in it's attacks than dumb reflex check, which I know based on the fact the community keeps praising Bloodborne and Sekiro, that you guys prefer dumb reflex based gameplay over slower build and strategy based one, but it's not my case.
My first time fighting Gehrman will always be something I remember. Bloodborne boss AI is strange as it can be so random and it was a highlight for the fight. For some reason, Gehrman only started doing certain moves after I did. He didn't fire his gun until I fired it, he didn't transform at a percentage but rather after I did, he didn't Visceral me until I first did it to him. It was so strange, but a highlight for sure.
Mergo's wet nurse is also the final boss for speed runners and no hit any% runs in Bloodborne just to note (If you don't want to fight Gehrman or Moon Presence)
You ever noticed the similarities between gehrman and isshin. I feel like isshin is the gehrman fight perfected(ironic cus I prefer gehrman) but they are both older mentors. They both fight with a short blade, long blade and a gun. They have the wind attacks. They even fight in very similar arenas with the whitefield as the home base goes down in flames behind you. I think graphically isshin has the upper hand but gehrmans arena under the moonlight is too beautiful for me
I’ll defend elden beast till my dying breath. I get why people don’t like it but I think it’s one of the best large beast type bosses in the series and an Incredible finale that honestly just elevates the final fight. Radabeast is easy S tier for me. my jaw hit the floor for both fights. Don’t think I’ve done that for any of the other bosses except Gael.
Sister Friede I feel gets some extra points by being the first ever boss, at least in a soulsborne game, to have legitimately three phases. We have all experienced that relief of defeating phase 2, getting a prize, the enemy defeated thing on our screen... and then the abject horror when she got back up when we had no more healing items. That boss gave me the same horrifying thrill I had when I found my first mimic, and that is a memory I will cherish greatly.
Sword Saint Isshin and Gael were both amazing and I always would have had them at the top but I think Gael will always be my number 1 simply because of the chills I got the first time I watched his cutscene when you figure out that the pigment for the painting is the dark soul.
I would put Gwyn in A tier, not for the bossfight but for why he is pretty easy to beat and parryable all things considered. He’s worn out and lost his flame, nothing but cinder. You get hyped for him all throughout the game and when you finally get to him there’s no epic boss music or cutscene, just pling pling plong and a hollow dude with a flaming sword running to you. I just love how they set him up, it was a very unique experience first time around.
So I absolutely love SS Isshin. I honestly never get mad when I die to him because he's so cool to fight every time. Literally a perfect way to end a game.
I keep saying it, they should've given Radagon another health bar and a phase 2 where Marika tries to stop him from inside and his combos just get a lot more wild and he starts shining more. Maybe also have the arena crumbling and the fire from the erdtree starting to reach inside as the main menu music intensifies. Would've been a great finale knowing Marika helped you become elden lord. My first reaction when I saw Radagon was pure joy. There's this character everybody talks about, second elden lord and shit, great ending. He also had that intimidating presence like Isshin, Malenia and Radahn. When I first saw the elden beast, my honest reaction what wtf is that?
Isn't the final boss of the old iron king dlc really more fume knight? Sir Alonne is just one of those optional bosses meanwhile fume knight is the boss that actually gives you the crown. Idk, I could be wrong about this.
I think Mergo's Wet Nurse is there because you technically don't _have_ to fight Gehrman, so if you submit your life, that would make Wet Nurse the final boss you fight in that playthrough.
Tbh I feel like even though the actual fight isn't the best the actual spectacle of the fight the music the crazy huge moves and it makes sense as it's the physical embodiment of the elden ring.
As I thought about it more, I think Moon Presence was a better handled version of what Elden Beast in Elden Ring went for. For starters, you have the option for Gherman to be the last boss you fight (since you need to go out of your way to meet access the Moon Presence boss) which doesn't undermine Gherman as your last fight as it does with Radagon. Secondly, with the last act of the game delving more into cosmic horror, it clues you in that there's more going on behind the scene regarding Moon Presence's existence. When I first saw Elden Beast, it felt like it came out of nowhere with no buildup, and I made sure to read most item descriptions before that moment.
Honestly, the only 2 changes you could make with the elden beast to make it better is to lower its hp and make most of its attacks much slower. I like elden beast, but even I'll admit that it moves around too fast.
I think Radagon and Elden Beast should have been made separate bosses with both being improved. Radagon is already good and could probably just be given more health if he was by himself. Elden Beast could have a larger moveset (specifically more melee attacks) and should run away less.
Elden Beast only has 20K, which isn't a lot since it has pretty big openings (especially at the start of the fight when it shots fire, you can easily do at least 3500 damage with a decent weapon).
After the patch where they made elden beast run away way less, the fight became much better, i no longer had truble hitting the elden beast ever since, so i'd give radagon + elden beast an S rank.
Honestly I'd might put Soul of Cinder in B solely because of the curve sword auto parries. Yes while Soul of Cinder has the curved sword out he can auto parry the player forcing you to either accept the 1000+ damage parries from attacking him during it or just being forced to wait until he swaps weapons. He's a great boss 90% of the time and 10% of the time he's effectively forces an Aldia fight waiting game.
@@Celatra he can do it while getting hit if your using a slower weapon. Even then its still is a waiting game for him to stop. Which conflicts with an otherwise fast paced fight by forcing you to slow down only when he has a curved sword out.
Mergo's wet nurse is here because it's technically the last boss you have to kill before finishing the game, if you chose the ending where gehrman spares you by killing you
Very good video man! I haven’t played any soulsborne yet but you got me hyoed for them so I will play them:D My question is that what are your pc specs? What machine runs these games and can edit videos like this one?
a potato can run these games lol. so as long as you have a low end gpu and cpu or even a intergrated gpu like on the newer ryzen chips, 1080p 60 fps is no issue,
Why is Alonne considered the final boss of Crown of the Old Iron King? You get the crown after you kill Fume Knight, meaning he is the the actual final boss
I always thought of the parry for gwyn as a window to heal yourself, more than a cheese strat, that way you can create an opening to breathe in the middle of the battle, the time is just enough to use the estus and go back to fighting
SL1 runners have said that Soul of Cinder is one of the hardest bosses because of the sheer amount of things he can do at once and all the previous "whatever" aspects of his kit can kill you.
Tbh EB isn't that horrible imo. It annoyed me a lot due to the amount of undodgeable bs it threw at me and the fact I couldn't use torrent was annoying. But imo Radagon boosts it up so much, he's almost perfect. He tests your dodges, reaction time and also makes sure you cannot bleed him so you cannot win easy. Though for me they were both easy because I like summoning, it's fun ganking with mimic or watching Tiche melt bosses
Orphan was the only boss in Bloodborne I needed help for. I never got consistent with his first phase and the second would just rinse me. Great fight though. I wish Gherman was more difficult though, maybe a few moves that couldn't be parried or something.
I beat Orphan by myself after like a million tries it felt like. So satisfying, felt like it made me pretty much perfect at the game by the time I did beat him. Laurence was the only boss I couldn’t kill by myself, but that big flaming turd felt so cheap lol so much health and AOE spam
First things first. Nice list and a lot of agreement from my side. For me Sir Alonne ist one of best bosses overall. His moves, the arena, background story and this "secret" seppuku death animation, if you manage to flawlessly kill him. But actually the Fume Knight is the final boss of the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC and could also fit in this list, i guess.
Gael is by far my favourite. When I heard about him I thought the hype would be too high, it wasn't. Only boss in the series I've felt so sure of how fair it is. He hasn't got any bs that you can't beat with proper and fair timing. His Moveset is fluid and the flow of the fight is amazing. I really hope we get something similar in Shadow of the Erdtree.
My list isn't too different than yours but it would go like this : S tier - Slave Knight Gael - best From Soft boss to this day still , Sword Saint Isshin / Inner Isshin ( slight upgrade ) best Sekiro boss do doubt , Orphan of Kos - best BB boss imo and certainly the hardest . Sister Friede obviously the best boss in her dlc , that third phase is awesome . A tier - Manus - an excellent fight but not quite S tier , Soul of Cinder - one of the best DS3 base game has to offer , Gehrman the first hunter - great boss fight but overshadowed by the dlc bosses , Radagon/Elden Beast - Radagon is definitely the better half of the fight but EB isn't bad by any means but can be boring to fight him sometimes , still one of the better remembrance ER bosses , Sir Alonne - one of the best DS2 bosses and one of the rare ones that get as high as A . B tier - Isshin/Ema - good boss fight but the first phase is almost the same as Sword Saint and the second phase is good but not great , Burnt Ivory King is a good boss fight , really like his second phase but the first phase is boring and on high ng+ is awful to do , can't rank him higher , Sinh is easily the best DS2 dragon boss fight and a good boss fight in his own right , Gwyn - a bit easy to parry , he doesn't have a lot of moves but he is fast and a good ending to the base DS1 game , could have been better tho , Old King Allant - definitely the best boss in Demon's Soul and has a decent moveset especially for that time , not gonna count the slug version that would be super F . C tier - Moon presence - has an epic cutscene but the fight is just mediocre and a disappointment , not bad just average , Mergo's Wet Nurse has a cool design but the boss is just too slow and boring to fight , he has some nice moves especially the ,, dark phase ,, but is just an OK boss fight , a bit disappointing it can actually be the final boss . D tier - Nashandra - barely has any moves , slow and just boring , she isn't terrible but definitely bellow average and a poor final boss . Aldia - even worse than Nashandra , he has more moves but is so boring to fight and it takes a while until you get a chance to properly damage him , I didn't like it but it isn't garbage just another disappointing DS2 boss .
I would disagree on the Elden Beast. As a mage, it was a cool fight. Not super-crazy, but still fun. Radagon was actually more of a pain in the ass and his arena was not that impressing
For me it would of been radagon if not for elden beast lol. Best final boss is tie between Gherman or Soul of cinder. Reason why I still consider Gherman a great final boss despite moon presence being boring is because moon presence tho its not great doesn't ruin the experience where elden beast does its the 2nd worst boss in the game.

Yeah pretty much
Sir Alonne shouldn't have been in this tier list since he's an optional boss that youre able to fight before the actual final boss being Fume Knight.

9/10
1:29 The epic conclusion of Dark Souls? What!? You didn't even mention the music!?!?!? I'm so confused by your reasoning for Gwyn's placement.
I had an awesome time against the elden beast using a secret method most souls players going to elden ring don't know : it's called ranged attacks.
Radagon was the big skill check melee fight
Elden Beast was the big high fantasy fight between a genius mage and a cosmic entity trading powerful magic rays between each others.
A day when Ember uploads a video is a good day
My first time fighting Gehrman will always be something I remember.
He did it, the Mad Lad did an outro
The way they tied the story with slave knight gale is perhaps my favorite boss fights of all time. Plus the music is amazing.
Mergo is there because in case you choose the ending where gehrman frees you she technically becomes the last boss battle of bloodborne
Tbh, Radagon complimented by that epic music that started when Radagon held his hammer up in the cutscene made that boss my all time favorite
So I absolutely love SS Isshin. I honestly never get mad when I die to him because he's so cool to fight every time. Literally a perfect way to end a game.
Man that Radagon/Beast fight is terrible wtf were they thinking. Sword Saint Isshin is unbelievably good.
Radagon would've been an easy top S, because when that theme kicked in, I knew I was truly at the end. But then Elden Beast...
I played Bloodborne recently and I accidentally had Gherman kill me, and missed out on him. Now I'm going back in ng plus to beat him.
Best part about these videos… are those absolutely lit outros
I love that you have no outro. Not even saying "outro" would make it even better imo
Just gonna point out that Sir Alonne is an optional side boss. Fume Knight is the final boss of the Iron King dlc.
Came here to say that too!
Except orphan not being in S this list is perfect.
Elden beast is still a lot better in my opinion
The actual fight with Moon Presence is piss easy and feels unfinished tho. At least Elden Beast makes an impact
Amazing video!
As someone who despises this games, but loves Sekiro, seeing Glock Saint at the top warms my heart.
My boy Gehrman in S tier. All is right with the world
Nah that’s too harsh. Gehrman is S++ tier
After the patch where they made elden beast run away way less, the fight became much better, i no longer had truble hitting the elden beast ever since, so i'd give radagon + elden beast an S rank.
cinder is "S" for me, it has many movesets, excellent ost, 2 phases, references Gwyn, it's symbolic, it's very hard,
soc is easy as hell wdym
@@Celatra what
Honestly I'd might put Soul of Cinder in B solely because of the curve sword auto parries.
@@Warcrafter4 bro the parry is from a very specific animation
Just watch out for it and you'll be good lmao
@@Celatra he can do it while getting hit if your using a slower weapon. Even then its still is a waiting game for him to stop.
Which conflicts with an otherwise fast paced fight by forcing you to slow down only when he has a curved sword out.
when I beat isshin he said "well done sekiro" I felt like he was proud of me
Wait a sec. Isn’t Fume knight the actual final boss of the dlc? Sir Alonne is optional.
Mergo's wet nurse is here because it's technically the last boss you have to kill before finishing the game, if you chose the ending where gehrman spares you by killing you
Ember back w a banger
Sir Alonne is an optional boss, he's not a final boss. The final boss if Fume Knight.
Very good video man! I haven’t played any soulsborne yet but you got me hyoed for them so I will play them:D
My question is that what are your pc specs? What machine runs these games and can edit videos like this one?
a potato can run these games lol. so as long as you have a low end gpu and cpu or even a intergrated gpu like on the newer ryzen chips, 1080p 60 fps is no issue,
I just play the games on console and edit with a MacBook
Why is Alonne considered the final boss of Crown of the Old Iron King? You get the crown after you kill Fume Knight, meaning he is the the actual final boss
video idea: giving every boss a rating out of 10, one video for each game
I always thought of the parry for gwyn as a window to heal yourself, more than a cheese strat, that way you can create an opening to breathe in the middle of the battle, the time is just enough to use the estus and go back to fighting
SL1 runners have said that Soul of Cinder is one of the hardest bosses because of the sheer amount of things he can do at once and all the previous "whatever" aspects of his kit can kill you.
Midir not being included for just the sheer spectacle of the fight is criminal.
Isshin might be the single Best Boss fight in gaming in general
Gehrman and isshin in my opinion
Soul of Cinder slept on??? How?
Sword Saint Isshin to this day is the best boss I've fought.
mergo's wet nurse is considered a final boss because of the bad ending of bloodborne where you just submit to letting gehrman kill you
Great Vid ❤
You don't judge the bossfight by The gameplay aspect of it only. You gotta look at the music, the build-up, the break of expectations, etc.
but those breakable expectations become the norm on subsequent playthroughs
But he did. That's how he ranked Gwyn, Gael and Soul of Cinder.
I would've put Fume Knight as the final boss of Crown of the Iron King. Alonne feels more like an extra boss
I was talking to my gf and hung up BC u uploaded
😳 priorities 😏
@@EmberPlays yeah nah I don't have a gf but IF I DID..
On my second playthrough I 1st tried gehrman and I was so proud
Gael is by far my favourite. When I heard about him I thought the hype would be too high, it wasn't. Only boss in the series I've felt so sure of how fair it is. He hasn't got any bs that you can't beat with proper and fair timing. His Moveset is fluid and the flow of the fight is amazing. I really hope we get something similar in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Weird that Yharnam isn’t on the list cause final boss of the chalice dungeons. I get that not a lot of people did that fight though
Bro the defiled chalice took me yearsssssss
Your so close to 100K!!!
Lorewise Aldia as a final boss is amazing
radagon is gonna be so fun to fight when I feel like actually fighting him...
Personally Sword Saint Isshin is my favorite boss out of all Fromsoftware games.
I respect it!
My list isn't too different than yours but it would go like this :
S tier - Slave Knight Gael - best From Soft boss to this day still , Sword Saint Isshin / Inner Isshin ( slight upgrade ) best Sekiro boss do doubt , Orphan of Kos - best BB boss imo and certainly the hardest . Sister Friede obviously the best boss in her dlc , that third phase is awesome .
A tier - Manus - an excellent fight but not quite S tier , Soul of Cinder - one of the best DS3 base game has to offer , Gehrman the first hunter - great boss fight but overshadowed by the dlc bosses ,
Radagon/Elden Beast - Radagon is definitely the better half of the fight but EB isn't bad by any means but can be boring to fight him sometimes , still one of the better remembrance ER bosses , Sir Alonne - one of the best DS2 bosses and one of the rare ones that get as high as A .
4:57 DS2 hitbox appreciation
I would disagree on the Elden Beast. As a mage, it was a cool fight. Not super-crazy, but still fun. Radagon was actually more of a pain in the ass and his arena was not that impressing
4:57 the hitbox😭
Dude I fuckin love orphan. It’s the perfect boss for the hyper aggressive gameplay of bloodbourne
Mergo is a final boss if you let gehrman kill you so yes it belongs
Just beat Isshin for my first time today and can honestly say he was the hardest boss I’ve ever faced. Sekiro two when!?!
Sword Saint Isshin is the greatest boss fight in videogame history imo
it’s like you’ve never even seen toad man
Have you fought Gehrman, he’s also really good
Radagon was an amazing final boss. He’s definitely the final boss and nothing came afterwards.
Strange that they chose Sir Alonne for the finale of the the old iron king DLC instead of the fume knight
Plus you don’t have to do moon presence
You did soul of cinder dirty. He's definently better than gerhman
