I FINALLY made it down to Winder Towing yesterday, from Wyoming. I got to meet Matt, Ed and John in person, and to say the least, they are all real great guys. Matt is very knowledgeable about what he's doing, and how he does it. Super awesome guy just like you see on his videos. Even with his phone ringing off the hook, he conducted business and was able to talk with me about this company like a pro without skipping a beat. Ed is also a great guy haha, I enjoyed visiting with him as well. He has stories for days that will keep your attention. From Mining, Oil Rigging, and places that he has seen and been, to what he helps Matt with now, very enjoyable to sit and talk with him. I only got to talk with John for a brief moment, he was remodeling their front office, which looks like it will turn out great. He also took my picture with Matt and Ed, so I want to thank him again for that. I'll definitely get a picture with him as well next time I'm down around that area, I feel bad for not getting one with him yesterday. All in all, it was a great experience to meet these guys and see their place in person. I can't wait til I can stop by and say hi again. Keep up the great videos and the hard work, -James N., from Wyoming.

I'm the snow-chain-type of a winter driving person. It takes me a minute or two per wheel on a class 8 truck to chain it, thus 4 to 8 minutes at an Unimog or Landrover Defender to hhain up all wheels. (The time difference pend on the ground the vehicle is placed on while chaning it.) Yet as allways I'm rather stunned how efficient you Matt are at your recovery jobs without snow chaines.
From my experience in watching other tow channels, you need a 75 ton Rotator with 4 rim-slings and then you can lift the Tahoe up, spin it around and set it back on the road to drive home. Oh, and bring the Yellow Banana too, so you can use it to pull the Rotator back onto hard pavement after the recovery job is done ;)
Great recovery Matt! We had a blast watching you work and think fast!! Thank you for taking us with you on the recovery and all the hospitality during our stay! I hope you liked the Behind The Scenes video of you too! Wishing you continued success beyond 100K!! ❤️🐞
I enjoy watching both your channels! I was noticing your giant grin while riding in the yellow banana and thinking you must be having a ball and realized I had the same grin just watching lol. Here's to an awesome 2020 🍻

After watching several of Matt's videos I've ditched my tow strap and ordered a kinetic recovery rope. It was definitely a sting to my wallet but I have a feeling it will be worth its weight in gold the first time I ever have to use it!
At about 05:00 I love that everyone is laughing, smiling, and having a good time. That's when you know the real professionals are on the job! Even when the Banana is half stuck in the snow, everyone still has a smile on their face.
Very cool to see how you hook to vehicles with no specific recovery points on the front. Thanks for getting the camera in there like that to show us what you're doing. Content is awesome man.
This is awesome. Just tonight my son and I used my Cherokee to rescue another son's Xterra after he high-centered it during a pizza delivery! Can't beat that old Jeep.
@@jamesmac8424 yes, as well as when the Banana is being leaned on pulling through the deep, soft sand. Matt has said that was their function numerous time.
I just spent 9 hours driving a towtruck, collecting scrap cars. For some reason your videos help me unwind my spring. You seem to take your job so relaxed...
Those soft shackles are a revelation. My old man started using them in the rigging of his 30ft yacht, and I was very sceptical till I saw them in action. Amazing stuff and much nicer to be hit in the face with, rather than a galvanised metal shackle, if itall goes wrong =;-)). Another great vid, Matt, thank you.

I've been watching for about a month now. Funny thing the first time i heard you call your Jeep 'The Yellow Banana". It took me back to old days. About 35 years ago I had a 72 Nova that I called the 'Yellow Banana'. Opposite to your Jeep, this one eventually got painted burgundy with 2 white bumble bee stripes around the trunk. I saw pictures of yours before it was yellow and it appeared to be burgundy or dark brown. I just thought it was coincidental. I can relate to some of the snow recoveries you do. In a past life I drove a hook truck for CAA up here in Canada for about 5 years. Good job Matt, I enjoy your videos.
Nice work with the soft shackle. It paired nicely with the kinetic rope on a light tug. Bet those people were getting scared with the light disappearing and temp drop .
Matt, your channel is what really got me interested in off road recovery. Would love to meet you sometime and come out on some recoveries. I have learned a lot from you. Keep up the great work.

I hope I never buy a vehicle without a recovery point on both ends. It is sad that the car manufacturers make a four wheel drive vehicle with only one recovery point. I guess they sell a lot of repair parts from recoveries by inexperienced hacks who do serious damage.
When I first stumbled across your channel, you were just under 30,000 subscribers. The only bad thing is, the more popular you are getting, the higher the price is going to be for an old XJ. LOL
If each one of the hitches you've left on customers rides were returned to you about how many would that be? Lol Thank for another awesome episode Matt 👍

Definitely enjoyed seeing A Bug's Life enjoy the experience, just as I enjoyed watching it. I'm not a swag man, but I must admit I'd enjoy a Winder Towing zip hoodie, even if only to make my towing buddies jealous. I've worked for two different recovery companies over the years from the deep south to the far north east, and I know they'd enjoy watching you work down there in the southwest. Keep doing what you do, be safe, and continue on!
Good stuff guys cool ya let bugs hang out with you gotta say it’s true what they say on the Patagonia tires they bite down really good as always be safe
Great video! I have been stuck in four feet of snow on a in field playing around in my old truck and spent 4 hours digging non stop and dug my self out enough that I could drive out.
Ya know, I'ma just gonna throw this out there, after watching a ton of these videos after finding this channel today. Bunches of people say "Man they need lockers," "Lockers woulda fixed that." Nope, it's not all about lockers people. There is real skill in driving offroad in snow/mud/ sand. The biggest problem for folks is the better your four wheel drive the worse you'll be stuck. Exaple, see Lost in The Maze when Casey gets up that rock face without lockers, just (mostly) standard equipment.
Thanks for showing how you hook up. Great channel, I always enjoy your videos. To people getting stuck in snow, make a U turn and go back down. If you still want to go up, flip around, and go up in reverse. I've never been stuck in snow like that.
My GM truck came with those same Continental Cross Contact LX20 tires. They are great on wet or dry roads. They are quite bad in snow though. I had to slow right down to make any kind of turn, and needed 4WD to get any decent acceleration in 4" of snow. I swap on some Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT LT winter tires to get me through the winter. Great work on the recovery Matt. I love how the Banana always seems to make progress with enough wheel spin.

AWESOME VIDEO!! Big fan of both channels!! You do a great job Matt! HEY BUG!!! 😍😍😍 when do we get to see your XJ down there playing with Matt’s and Casey’s???
That old yellow banna put that new Tahoe to shame. It was hard for me to watch how far regular SUV'S have Fallon in 20 years. To the point that they get out performed by 20 year old jeep. I figured it was the tires but realized the center of gravity was really low. I guess to do better on gas, but very bad for driving in high snow and medium off roading. Still love the XJ and it shows its worth many years after its production year.
Liked the use of the soft shackle, definitely makes you feel better about it breaking something on the customer vehicle since we know from your gear video that its a little bit undersized. Only concern I would have is it breaking early and sending that yankum rope flying. Might want to just be a little extra mindful about it. As always thanks for bringing us along with you!
Matt you really need to have someone show you how to chain up, preferably a truck driver. It takes minutes to chain up something like your Jeep and makes things so much easier. If I was driving to Tahoe and had chains to put on it I would have driven it out of there and continued on to wherever they were going. I’ve gone into the ditch with my car in 8 inches of snow, got it moving enough to chain up and then drive out again without a problem. Chains are an invaluable tool and quick and easy to use once you have some practice putting them on.
Recently stumbled onto you and can't grasp why I'm so addicted to your wholesome family and friends and these rescues I've seen over many hours of footage. I love the trails you get to go on and the Jeep. Wondering jf you'll ever upgrade from old Cherokee? Get a nice full coilover kit and all that $ on a lil newer Jeep(?) to do this with. Still under a $100k offroad tow rig.
I was on the edge of my bed cause i thought you were gonna get stuck in that snow haha. Love the "I'm just gonna do it" plans! See what happens and fix it if it don't work!
