    With those plastic air lines, put some of those cheap push lock type end to end connectors in your tool kit. When you get a leak, you can cut the hose right at the leak and slip on the "butt connector" and be on your way in about 5 minutes.

    • @LarsDennert
      @LarsDennert ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've seen hose melt at the compressor exit just from the hot air as well. Better to skip that line and use fuel injection rated line. ARB makes a reusable union for the air locker blue line but this looked to be tank supply or something.

      I was thinking the same thing. That would look the best on that wrecker I think. With the prefab skills they could probably build them. I was thinking they could use old tire tread for the actual finder. It might make them blend into the tire better, and they would be rubber so they wouldn't have to worry about damage.

    I used to work for a company that made hydraulic hoses for large companies. One of our customer made fire trucks. Some of their hoses required a fire sleeve to be installed. That may be an option as you are going to be replacing that melted hose anyway. You should be able find a large enough size to run a bundle of smaller diameter air line through it. It may also be prudent to install some on any hydraulic hoses that are near heat sources to prevent the oil from thinning out and be less likely to be pressurized. The sleeves were usually installed before the hose was completed, but, if you have a straight end fitting, they should be able to slide over it and on to the hose. Then we used a hose clamp to fasten them to the hose to prevent them from sliding on the hose.

    Chad & his guys did an amazing job wiring everything! Crazy amount of wiring! There's bound to be a few gremlins with custom builds for sure, I have gotten to a point that I always heat wrap my exhausts & run turbo blankets on everything. Heat & sound improvements are totally worth it. I soak my wrap in hot water, then once it's dry I paint it all flat black stove bla paint

    Plastic airlines have no place on that beautiful build. Braided stainless lines only with Aeroquip fittings should be the order of the day. Love that build and the show .
