With those plastic air lines, put some of those cheap push lock type end to end connectors in your tool kit. When you get a leak, you can cut the hose right at the leak and slip on the "butt connector" and be on your way in about 5 minutes.
I've seen hose melt at the compressor exit just from the hot air as well. Better to skip that line and use fuel injection rated line. ARB makes a reusable union for the air locker blue line but this looked to be tank supply or something.

Check out John Deere front fenders for their full size tractors, should be easy to adapt them and plenty large enough. They also follow the tire since they mount to the knuckle and won't effect the look of the wrecker hardly at all.
I used to work for a company that made hydraulic hoses for large companies. One of our customer made fire trucks. Some of their hoses required a fire sleeve to be installed. That may be an option as you are going to be replacing that melted hose anyway. You should be able find a large enough size to run a bundle of smaller diameter air line through it. It may also be prudent to install some on any hydraulic hoses that are near heat sources to prevent the oil from thinning out and be less likely to be pressurized. The sleeves were usually installed before the hose was completed, but, if you have a straight end fitting, they should be able to slide over it and on to the hose. Then we used a hose clamp to fasten them to the hose to prevent them from sliding on the hose.
I like how Matt doesn’t even check or test any thing (except the welder) he just goes for it. It says a lot about his character of having faith, the can-do attitude and how he prioritizes actual work. It’s a good thing it left chads fab with what was apparently a decent amount of fuel 😆
