I saw your video and read some of the comments. I think it's interesting. Multi tasking in its tiny, middle, large way. I need to be hands on with that first. July just released their new truck colors and trunks covers. 😲 😱 OMG
I have this bag, it just arrived in silver. One of the bottom aluminum pieces was bent, no biggie. But as for durability, just do not crush the rims or the bag will drag on itself when you raise or lower it to resize. But it is so so so heavy. MINE was also 11.8 pounds. If you go carryon only, with US domestic, you should be okay weight wise. But good luck carrying it on overseas airlines. Although it is very well made and the interior is plush, that internal fabric is a dust and cat hair magnet. I love the idea, but for me, with the weight, it will be relegated to car camping or travel. Also the dimensions do not comply exactly with all US luggage bins due to width and depth. It's a great idea, but they need to rethink the polycarbonate material, and do a lighter weight version. It is just too heavy.
I would love a lightweight version.
@@ItsTheKellys Me too, Lauren. They really have so many ideas right on the money. Love the wide handle not only for lugging around, but it also makes for easy packing. The absence of the grand canyon of rails in the middle of a suitcase is such a great packing feature. I dearly hope they come out with a version 2 as I do believe they are on the right track. It took Nomad Lane 4 versions to achieve perfection on the Bento bag. Thank you so much for all of your honest reviews. You really are the best!
This is super helpful info. I was thinking this could be a good item for a 4 week European summer trip with our family of four, but knowing that it‘s significantly heavier than a typical carryon, I will have to re-evaluate my options.

Does anyone else have a hard time cramming everything pack into their suitcase even if they’re not a shopping? I swear, I can never get my stuff as compact/compressed in the road as I can at home. I often have to release the expansion dipper on my bag just because the clothing side of my bag (which doesn’t have any new items!) swells in size enough that close my bag has become so difficult. I keep telling myself I need to leave more space in that half of my bag when I pack, but the temptation to add more clothes so that I might be able to get away with not doing laundry is too great!

Lauren when I saw this last year I was so intrigued - thank you for getting your hands on it with your awesome review. I'm worried it will be SO heavy though filled and expanded and now with airlines being even more strict about how our luggage is placed in the overhead bins I'm thinking i would prob only take it as a checked bag on longer trips with major commercial airlines. thank you for the durability test, the handle test and showing us how it actually expands and compresses ❤!
This luggage looked so interesting. I actually just bought a new medium suitcase in the beginning of December. I was taking a car trip so size didn't matter and I knew I was going to need warm weather and cold weather clothes. I could have made them fit in a carry on but just decided to get a medium bag instead. It looked really durable too, although I gotta say I was looking forward to you scandalizing the neighbors by doing it outside.
Wow, what a great idea for luggage! And as usual, your review is very good and very informative. We just went to Italy and we bought a bag while there so we had room for everything we wanted to bring back. Then we checked one of our other bags on the way back home. This would have solved that problem.

Very cool! I don’t know how I feel about the lack of handles. It’s hard enough for me to get bags in the overhead bin as is 😅 I like to bring food items like jelly and honey home, so I usually end up checking my bag on the way home
There are grooves on the top and bottom instead, but yes it’s something to get used to
You have outdone yourself with this review! It’s an amazing concept and I’m interested as I tend to need more space for souvenirs on the way back 😅. I usually stick to small souvenir items because of space issues but if I had extra space I would definitely pick some type of home decor to bring back home. I finally received mine but it does not conform to carry on size so the reason I bought it flew out the window. Total waste of money unless I want to check in luggage, and I have high quality, lighter-weight luggage for that.

This is cool! But I worry about the weight and no true handles to lift or grab the bag from the overhead bin . Or in and out of the car? I have been looking into a 14-16” carry on size rolling luggage. I’d be interested in a review of smaller hardside carry on sized bags 😊

Yeah. If they added a 0.5" dip on top and side for those flat handle it would be much better

I like that companies are thinking outside the box for new innovations. But, the lack of handles would be a definite No for me. I understand that the indents can be used to lift the case into the overhead, but there are other times that a suitcase needs to be lifted. Sometimes there is a short flight of stairs, maybe at the entrance to an Airbnb or when taking public transportation to and from the airport, and lack of a handle would be a problem. Even at home before and after my trip. I come home from a trip and want to take my suitcase upstairs to unpack in my bedroom on the second floor. I need a handle. And, the other drawback is the weight of the bag at 11+ lbs. I respect the effort at the new innovation, but it would unfortunately be a No for me. Thank you for scouting out and reviewing all these new carry-ons and personal items.
I like the idea. However, my main concern is the weight. I usually travel with a carry on. But with that weight, it means I might be already "overweight" without putting much inside
Yes, when we think carry on, that is alot of weight, but when we think that it’s also a checked bag, it’s average, so it’s hard

It is clunky - so clunky most airlines won’t accept it as carry on. I bought it🤬
Buyer Beware!!! I bought the Velo, also loving and falling for this amazing concept. But what they fail to tell you is that virtually NO major AIRLINE will accept this as carry on. It is too deep to be accepted by Air Canada and a number of US airlines. They will reject it and require it to be checked in. Great concept but poorly executed- you have been warned!!!
