Thank you for your videos like this. I’m Andrew. I have a suggestion for workouts … why not just order resistance bands? They’re not quite the same as dumbbells. But they’re not as heavy either. When I move out of my apartment … I’m definitely going to either sell or donate my adjustable dumbbells. I strength train thrice weekly. And right now I’m using the fitness center where I live to workout. But I also have resistance bands. And they’re lighter weight and definitely take up less space.

Awesome video guys! I can tell these insights came from lots and lots of trial and error and seeing what really works best. Also love that you talk about stuff we don't need - not all consumerist focused! Keep it up!!
Hi Nicole and Mico, I love both of your energy. Also, a little SOS, Nicole, have you had your right throat thyroids checked by a doctor? It could be just a camera angle or my eyes, but please go get it checked out just in case, please. Safe travels! Hugs.
Thank you! Yes, I have had it checked out 😊 I had it biopsied last year and it is benign thankfully. I’m continuing to get regular check ups on it as it is fairly large, but so far so good. Thank you so much for making sure I know about it!
Love seeing this video year after year! I've made a few purchases over the years after your recommendations (matador soap case)! Ironically enough I had previously purchased the hanging sea to summit hanging toiletry bag a few years ago and just recently purchased the tripped toiletry kit- taking it on a trip next week!
No way, that’s awesome! That Sea to Summit bag is also awesome. We loved it while it suited us but I’ve definitely outgrown it this past year 🤭We hope you love the Tripped toiletry kit on your next trip!!
I disagree about money belt. I use it for my passport when at my destination and store extra credit card and copies of ids and insurance. Never us a passport container.
I don't use a travel wallet either but I have a system of inner pockets (unless travelling in summer, then that doesn't work cos no jacket), Infinity scarf with pocket and a small travel sling. I try spread my ID + $ + cards evenly thru this system. But if I were to travel in Asia (or anywhere where cash is preferred) again, I'd probably add my bra stash, belt stash + spread cash thru sox etc (Also, possibly tmi, many of my bras have inner pockets that allow for removable padding and as these are bamboo they make for great travel bras) Another option is those running belts - the ones made from Lycra - that have secret pockets
@@susie9893 Me too, money belt for me is indispensable but i would NEVER open in it public. Splitting things between locations is very important as well.
🍁Love your contents! The safety belt is way more safe than leaving your important legal stuff at your accommodations AND you are not supposed to be digging in your safety belt in public. Dividing your important legal stuff is a must, personally I divide everything in 3: purse, belt and luggage. Also, on all information copies I write my insurance # and phone #. 🇨🇦
I agree. You NEVER access your money belt in public. Use your wallet for what your immediate needs are. The money belt is for cash, or backup cards are kept in the event your wallet is stolen
I was curious to see what the gear editing would be for your current travels. One of the best tips I have to remind myself of is to not do "in case of or worry of" packing. If for some reason I may need an item for a special situation after all I can usually find it and then I have a functional souvenir. And I've gotten so much value out of my packable gear such as the Peak Design tote, puffer jacket, and Travelon backpack. I can get all three to fit into a 11" by 6" by 5.5" packing cube that compresses down to 3.5" thick.
In a previous video you recommend the matador for your soap. I ordered that and instantly fell in love with it. I use it every time I travel somewhere. Along with my tripped packing cubes.
Awesome!! We still use the Matador soap packs every day as well. We wanted to include them in this video too but worried it would be too repetitive, but they're just SO good! Love that you love them and the Tripped Packing cubes too!
I can't understand why they didn't opt for resistance bands. That's what I take, and with the added bonus that they can be used for other functions in a pinch (eg bungee cords, clothesline, foot hammock)
@@nicoleandmico guess it depends what your going for. I'm quite a bit older than you guys and I find the resistance bands a lot more sparing to my joints
My laundry recommendation is the IKEA Skubb clothes pegs with hanging loops. I used one to attach my mosquito net to a curtain pole so they are useful for much more than just laundry. I prefer to add multiple pegs to my line so that my washing has lots of places where the weight is distributed and it can hang well. I can also use them on hangers or anywhere else I want a clip. Super useful.
I disagree about the Garmin InReach. We are a retired couple and use this all the time while traveling in the USA. And while Europe, Asia, etc. may have good cell reception, there are many places in the USA that are just dead zones for connectivity. Plus it is so small. We travel for weeks in carry-on backpacks and can easily fit this in. So listen to your Mom. Safety first!
Can you use your dry bag as your sea to summit laundry bag replacement (that way you can shake it up while sealed and do laundry even faster)? i was going to try that but dont know if that would disintegrate the dry bag quickly...
I'm guessing the places they stay the facilities are pretty festy. I generally handwash my clothes in hotel sinks as I go but I tend to stay in places where that's doable
Most wallets now have RFID to protect your cards and you can buy purses/backpacks that can't be cut/slashed for quick grabs. I use the comp. tube for a drawer as well - great tip as a lot of smaller rooms don't have dressers, just desks. If I am changing hotels every couple of days, I find putting everything I need for the couple of days in one tube helps keep the rest organized. Thanks for all the great tips! Love the sink😊.
Great suggestions! Thank you! How many passports can you get in the passport wallet? Since you do so much traveling, do your passports have extra pages in them?
Our passport wallets carry one each and we find that works well for us since it has other space for cards and cash and other small documents. And we have a 10 year passport so it has a lot of pages but last year we had to replace it early because we ran out of space. It made for a cool memento of the travels thus far!
You didn't keep in Mico's beloved HeroClip! I still think of him when I hang my bag on a toilet stall door. Don't tell me he's over them now! I'm a desperate fan of more minimal toiletries as I travel frequently rather than constantly so I'm still happy with the Sea2Summit bag that you recommended Nicole, along with the make up removing wash cloth by Erase Your Face. Do you still use that brand or did you change to another one? I see make up eraser in the shops often too.
O that double usage sounds cool. We’ve never tried it before but when we looked into it, we were worried it wouldn’t be able to wash too much at once. Maybe it’s time to try it out again maybe 🤔
I have the allurette delicate Scrubba @nicoleandmico . I wear compression so I need to be able to wash it whilst travelling. I do find that the scrubba works best on small amounts of clothing at once so I don't see it replacing your giant washing bowl. I do like the scrubba as it keeps your hands out of the soap and gives my washing a decent amount of agitation as you roll the bag around on the floor and rub the clothing against the washing "board" textured area inside the bag.
I cannot sleep without a weighted blanket and have a smaller 10 pound travel version. Any tips for traveling with this if I want to avoid checking bags? Thanks!
This is a great video because it shows that what we pack is totally a personal choice. I agree 100% with the Tripped toiletries bad (my favorite of all time) and the packing cubes. I think the dry bag is a total waste of space because I don't do water activities. I used to bring one for wet clothes, then realized that I never have wet clothes that I can't hang up in the bathroom to dry. I also think the water bottles you have are a waste of space. I prefer a slim bottle that I need to refill more times. Thanks for such a fun video. P.S. I take the 5L Kitchen Sink because I use washing machines and only hand wash undergarments. Even the 10L was too big, so I downsized.
I actually use a 20liter dry bag by Seatosummit as my “laundry vessel.” It’s much more compact than the foldable “nylon bucket” you showed. (I was gifted the bucket and ended up re-gifting it.)
I found a TRX strap packs down really small & is pretty light weight, but you can hook it onto any door or tree or pole etc, to use your body weight to get strong with it. Thanks for the tip about the locks that have a bendy wire instead of a solid metal bar, that was really useful. I've added one to my amazon wish list lol.
We have those too haha but the weights were definitely more ridiculous and so made it on the list. We also tried bands with some degree of success. Yes bendy wire instead of hard shackle is definitely much more convenient! Glad you found a helpful tip 😋
I always take/wear my SCOTTeVEST. Tons of inside pockets for valuables, passports, wallet (even an RFID pocket!). One outer pocket even holds a water bottle. While getting on the plane, I WEAR my personal bag! Take it off for TSA check, then simply put it back on and off you go.
Thanks! It would be easy to get through the lock if someone came prepared, but we’ve found it’s been a great deterrent so far. We’re 3.5 years in and no thefts yet 😊
Lol, everyone can get a set of TSA keys online via China or Taiwan. I have 2 TSA7 keys at home and they will open 95% of all these locks. My advise is to stay away from any TSA approved locks if you actually value security 🙈
I carried a compact lighted makeup mirror around Europe for 2 months and never took it out of my bag. Folding scissors tho? Every day! I don't use scissors that much at home
I would really look into the Sarisun Travel Pillows. They attach to the headrest of the flight seat and the eye mask help keeps your head up and in place.
Thanks for tip. I'm always open to checking out anything that might help me sleep in flight. Unfortunately that definitely wouldn't work for me as I'm a very restless sleeper and constantly change position. Unlike Mico, I stopped taking a travel pillow bcos it didn't improve my chances of sleep an iota - I sleep equally badly with or without
I like some of these suggestions like the clothes line and laundry bucket. I disagree about having a water filter for two reasons. Tap water is unsafe to drink when you aren’t used to the region in many places. You need to wash your produce and brush your teeth with filtered water. Downplaying the health impact of this isn’t helpful for new travelers. Also plastic bottles are horrible for the environment and should be used minimally.
The UV “filter” they mention in the video is not a filter. It is a way to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, and Protozoa in water. I agree that this method of water treatment is not practical for long term needs for many reasons. That being said, when I travel, I rely on Sawyer water filters. They are rated to filter 100,000 gallons of water and removes nearly all of the things that make you sick. No one is downplaying health impacts of contaminated water in this video.
The large water jugs they mentioned are refilled many times so maybe not quite as bad as single use. Also the steripen they had isn't going to remove chemicals, metals, or bad taste, so might not be great for long-term use. I do travel with an ozone water purifier but will opt for water jugs whenever possible (in LatAm)
I think you're thinking more in terms of backpacking or camping, whereas they're doing something more like vanlife. I'd totally take a water filter + purifier camping but I'd think seriously (and do a lot of research) about taking a life-straw backpacking. There really is something so annoying about taking an expensive piece of kit that seemed like such a good idea but didn't get used
@ they are traveling in Guatemala and other developing countries where you will get sick from the tap water. This is not an idea, its a fact. There are various pathogens and also parasites. Which will leave you feeling exhausted and unable to digest food.
Glad to hear you spread your ID + S + cards. That is my system too. I misspelled a word in my last comment. I meant to say I Never use a passport container since you have to remove the passport completely when ask to see the passport. Then afterwards the passport stays in my "money belt" worn to the back. I never take money out of my money belt in public. I enjoy your TH-cam videos. "Life is short, Keep on traveling!"
Haha right?! Honestly we felt ridiculous buying it but we’ve been really trying to focus on our health recently and bands and such weren’t cutting it. Still hilarious though lol
Many of the "would not recommend" items are geared specifically for backcountry outdoor/wilderness adventures. That's like saying "don't bring a tent unless you are going camping", seems a little obvious no?
If people can see your money belt, you may be using it incorrectly or maybe it's the terminology that's the problem. A moneybelt is worn under your clothes. I've been using one for 30 years and it saved me from a lot of trouble in Nice when, despite all the precautions I took, I lost my wallet. I keep a small amount of money and one card in a small wallet and everything else is tucked away out of sight. That pickpocket must have been really disappointed with his haul.
By the way, anyone with pliers or a multi tool can cut through that lock in 10 seconds. I wouldn't think of that more than just a mild dissuasion for potential thieves. But better than nothing!
@nicoleandmico Thank God 🙏 me too I had a surgery and removed half of the thyroid gland . I feel its my responsibility to tell anyone about it . Because my brother thanks to him ,,, discovered it .
I have never watched your channel before but I think that Nicole should really have her thyroid looked at by a doctor. It seems enlarged and maybe she is aware but just wanted to point it out in case she hasn't noticed.
Thanks for the heads up! I do have a thyroid nodule but I’ve had it biopsied and thankfully it is benign 😊Thanks for mentioning it to make sure I knew 😊
I'm sooooo glad I watched this. The money belt! D'uh 🤦🏼♀️ Great tip, I'll be leaving mine behind. Bucket/lock/dry bag/packing cubes purchased ✅ Muchos gracias for the tips! 💜
Just came across this channel and like it. Just want to drop a couple of comments to help the algorithm. 04:10 Some time ago I got a lightweight "Sea to Summit" brand 35 liter dry bag with the thought of using it as a manual washing machine and protection if I were to pack a breakable liquid. Hotel room sinks are problematic for doing laundry and my drybag has been Sorry, gotta go
Thank you! I’m surprised we never noticed how visible the lump is when we were filming, but I am already aware of it. I’ve had it biopsied and it is benign 😊
Not to worry 😊 I appreciate people mentioning it to me to make sure I’m aware of it. I know many thyroid nodules go unnoticed for years, and it would be terrible to not know about it and have it turn out to be cancerous. Thank you for sticking up for me 😁
I take an extra packing cube for shortish trips when I'm not going to do any washing, just use for dirty clothing.
Great idea!
That’s what I do as well and it works fantastic
!!!ZIP LOCK BAGS!! great for wet cloths. Even better for packing snacks from the breakfast bar. We've gone days just noshing on breakfast bar stuff.

After scrubbing the clothes, let the water out and rinse all. Another laundry hack is to put clothes and soap into a dry bag, then agitate the bag. A clothesline and toiletries bag is a must have and the ones you showed look like winners. Soaking your toothbrush in mouthwash reduces germs if you don't have a fancy UV toothbrush case.
Unlike Mico, I stopped taking a travel pillow bcos it didn't improve my chances of sleep an iota - I sleep equally badly with or without
I've been thinking of just using trail running shoes or adidas terrex shoes in black.
Those sound perfect! Good for adventure, city sightseeing and travel days.
Idk bringing dumbbells along in the car doesn't seem like such a bad idea! Should be able to get in a more effective workout vs bands.
What jobs they have to pay for travel
Get a TRX for exercise while travelling. You will not regret it. I don't even go to the gym anymore with the TRX. Try it out.
Very helpful video!
Glad it was helpful!
The weight….dumbells…hillarious! Carrying this will have made you two so fit! 😂❤
I let out the loudest omg! 😳 When Mico came out with the dumbbell set lol
🤣🤣🤣
@ it was hysterical! My guess was completely off. I assumed it was an air fryer for Airbnbs lol
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice.. thx 🙏
Welcome 😊
LOL i was not expecting that dumbbell set xD
Haha right?! Honestly we felt ridiculous buying it but we’ve been really trying to focus on our health recently and bands and such weren’t cutting it. Still hilarious though lol
Many of the "would not recommend" items are geared specifically for backcountry outdoor/wilderness adventures. That's like saying "don't bring a tent unless you are going camping", seems a little obvious no?
You'd be surprised
You can use a thick plastic bag for washing... Free with duty free
Yes! Such a good idea!
The toiletry bag would take up half the space in my carry on...
You two are cute. And very enjoyable to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very helpful. Glad to say we already have some of the same items that you feel are useful. Take care and God bless.
Love hearing you find some of these products awesome as well!! 🤗
If you will plane to visit Sri Lanka let me know! ☺
By the way, anyone with pliers or a multi tool can cut through that lock in 10 seconds. I wouldn't think of that more than just a mild dissuasion for potential thieves. But better than nothing!
Yes it just keeps good people honest and works as a good deterrent. As you say, better than nothing 😋
I hope you see my comment.
I noticed there is a swelling in your neck .
Make sure to see a doctor may be its the thyroid gland .
God bless you all ❤
Thanks for mentioning it 😊 I’ve got a thyroid nodule that we found last year and is benign 😁
@nicoleandmico Thank God 🙏
me too I had a surgery and removed half of the thyroid gland .
I feel its my responsibility to tell anyone about it . Because my brother thanks to him ,,, discovered it .
How do you afford to travle for 4 years?
Mostly TH-cam now 😋
I quit using TSA locks because TSA ALWAYS CUT THEM OFF!
Not to mention that anyone can buy a set of TSA keys online. I have sets at home and they do work.
Bucket/lock/dry bag/packing cubes purchased ✅
Muchos gracias for the tips! 💜
Glad you found it useful! We wish you a great time wherever you travel to! 😋✈️🌎
Hotel room sinks are problematic for doing laundry and my drybag has been
Sorry, gotta go
I hope Nicole knows she has a right anterior neck mass
I don't follow this TH-cam couple, but when I saw 30 seconds of this video, I wondered if she knew. Hoping all is well with her. RN since the 90's
Maybe you shouldn’t be so rude and heartless. There are nicer ways to point things out and they already did a whole video on it many months ago.
I do, thank you! It is benign but I am continuing to have it monitored 😁
