I've recently been introduced to Classic World of Darkness and I'm having a blast with it. And this channel has given me insight and interest in the other rpgs you talk about on this channel. Long story short, I love the botch pit and will ride along to the day you get thousands of subs :)

Might want to update or re-do this video once the Signs of Sorcery book comes out. It's nearly out and is a dedicated book for magical tools, artifacts, crafting, familiars, grimoires and tomes.
Oh, I definitely will, and we'll compile that with a review of the book itself.

I'm honestly a bit relieved that I'm still in med-school and haven't had to worry about isolating vulnerable family members from myself just in case. Also it's much calmer here in Aus. I'd like to hear you go over sleeper witnessing magic. The whole breaking point, act of hubris mechanics seems complicated and I'm not sure I got it right. Seems like you can loose all your wisdom in a single fight with a sleeper if you keep casting gross/obvious magic, but I guess that's the point about this system.
Let me ask you this; when you say "this system", are you talking first edition or second? And I'll definitely make a sleeper/sleepwalker vid.

Well, when reading through that part of the book (2e) it seems like one of the biggest banes of mages are sleepers. When forcing sleepers to witness magic you loose your integrity (/wisdom) as a mage and you become more corrupted, because the sleeper might loose willpower from witnessing your magic leading you to roll for act of hubris.
But as I said, I might not understand that part correctly :)
@@Laguna22222 Been a while since I've played Mage, and I realize this is an old comment, but I believe you can only suffer a breaking point for the same thing once per scene.

Chris the Librarian speaking! I have one more Geist Guide coming, and then diving head-first into Mage, perhaps even from the ground up. Some of those Mage Guides were among my first, and well, it shows somewhat. Lol

The system just has too many places to trip up. Until you get a handle on what your character/s in particular do with magic often, you'll be flipping back and forth in the rulebook constantly.

Absolutely! We're just super saturated, but soon we'll have a deluge of Mage content coming. It's going to be one of my (Chris's) priorities.

What kind of dice-modifiers can apply to spellcasting? Our storyteller rarely if ever use them, unless you refer to the standard "Up potency by 3 = -6 dice" ect.
That's something I'll cover in even more detail soon, but you have Foci, Mudras, High Speech, extended casting.... there's some starting points for you! Remember, if you study the books, you can teach the storyteller. Roleplaying is a group adventure, and any ST should be open to getting more well versed on the games.

Our group most often calculate the Mudras, Foci and High Speech bonuses (and the scale, potency ect minuses) individually as to speed up the dice-part of casting. Thanks for the reply man! Looking forward to some more in-depth videos of the casting and lore of MtA :)

Got a big question is the whole of the world of darkness like being revamped? Also does the sepret games die into a larger story or are they mutually exclusive? Like ik there are werewolves,vampires and hunters in some of the games.
The World of Darkness was ended around 2004, came back in 2006, but when White Wolf decided they wanted to bring it back Onyx Path took over that rebooted World of Darkness and changed it to the Chronicles of Darkness. I'm making a Guide to it soon.
The supernaturals all exist in the same world (if you want them to in your game], with no single plot they all follow.
Demesne is actually pronounced "Domain". Took me a long time until I found that out.
What is Mage’s main setting?? Just curious. As in which city does this supplement take place in?
