I travelled throughout Bavaria, including Garmisch Partenkirchen, a few years back. Absolutely beautiful scenery, and I would thoroughly recommend spending the day at Zugspitz with the exhilarating cable cars.

I have been at the EDELWEISS a number of times ( 5 ) for the European-Escapes tours ( Mostly the December " 4 times" Christmas Market tours) and sadly the last one in December 2015, A few times in the past they had back to back ( 2 ) Christmas Market tours. I was happy to hear this past 2019 that we military retires can use it again ! I also have traveled with Bavaria & Beyond tours. EXCELLENT ! Looking forward to maybe ? getting back to the EDELWEISS this December ? 2020 ? The tour listing is suppose to out late summer ? early fall ? So I was told 3/6/2020 . The prices $ for the European-Escapes tours packages are excellent at the Edelweiss, Garmisch, beautiful ! hotel personnel , location, cafes, pool, hot tub, stores , TOURS etc I was stationed in West Berlin (COLD WAR ERA) so know the traveled to locations well, some new locations at times in the past tours. Go ARMY

Did your done go over the FKK strand at the Eibess, this is the nudist part.
To say Lake Eibsee is silly as it is Lake Eib as "see" means "lake" in German, they make it one word unlike in English.

I have been in Garmisch Partenkirchen many times, but I have never experienced the george. I would love to go there on my next visit.

OH YEAH .. CAUGHT A TAXI TO INNSBROOK AUSTRIA ; WHICH TOOK ONLY A FEW MINUTES.. ATMOSPHERE WAS MORE RELAXED AND WELCOMING IN INNSBROOK.

Really great vid, but you can only ski on the Zugspitze during Winter (December-May) Always depending on the conditions as well.
I think there was a time when you could do it all year round, but unfortunately it's not possible anymore… Still, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is simply gorgeous and you made a nice video :)

Starting in 1975, I lived there on two separate occasions for a total of 8 -9 years . (don't know for sure as one loses track, must be the beer! I wrote a book on my travels inc Garmish/Part on a website: afrcski.com go to downloads.Book title is 'Bavaria and Catalonia on a gallon a day'. It's free download! Only in English.
Go to the Frauendorfer if you want to be a regular tourist. If not, explore elsewhere. There are so many more interesting places in GAP......

Sure. Gasthaus zur Schranne. Zum Wildschütz, Steakhaus Zur Waffenschmiede, Mukkefuck (careful about the pronunciation) in Garmisch. The Taj Mahal (for indian food) & the Berggasthof Panorama in Partenkirchen, and for Italian, go to Da Nico in Farchant.....
There are quite a few others. Vaun, Bei Marcus, Akrams, The Husar.....all high quality eateries......

You must have super duper eyes to be able to see Switzerland and Italy from the top of the Zugspitze.
Thats Austria, ONLY Austria. Trust me on that, I used to live there, for years.

Your guides really need to learn their geography. Or just look at a map.
You cannot see Italy or Switzerland from Garmisch at any angle.
Please learn to pronounce the german words and place names.. Otherwise great vid! haha
Skip the Frauendorfer, unless truly Bavarian kitsch is your thing. You have to pay the kid slap dancers (or at least encouraged to do so).......
Garmisch is love and life. There is no place more perfect. It is seriously like a movie. By the way, this lady's pronunciations are making me cringe.

Jeremiah Brand, next time you visit Bavaria, check out Murnau am Staffelsee. Located about 25 km N of Garmisch. You can take the train. I grew up there and really never appreciated (or took for granted) the beauty!!! I too felt like I am in a movie...❤️
