Loved your video! I had the privilege of riding up to the Zugspitze in 1972. Went skiing while at the top of the mountain, then rode down through the cable car tunnel. What a wonderful time in Germany.

I was recently in Germany in June with some family. It had been a dream of mine since I was young to go to Europe. We went atop the Zugspitze, and it was absolutely incredible. I actually shed a couple of tears since I was just so happy to see this. I had also remembered Rick Steves did some shows atop the mountain, and that made me shed some tears as well. It was just spectacular!

I was there many years ago when I was stationed in Bad Kissingen, Germany. My friends and I took a weekend trip there. It is an awesome feeling being above the clouds. It made me feel a little closer to GOD. Thanks for the video.

Fab video, thanks - felt I was there. Too much though.. made my legs go a bit wobbly as, as much as I love going up mountains I don't like what I have to do to reach the top and cable cars and I don't go together well. I usually end up covering my eyes until we reach the end, almost in tears. Bad vertigo.. or more to the point, probably the fear of the thing plummeting to the ground! But the views.. worth it!

We always visit Germany for our winter holidays. We visited this area during the summer on a spontaneous trip from Frankfurt area to Italy. Stunning scenery. Thank you sharing this 👍🏼
While stationed in Schwabach, Germany 🇩🇪 all through the 1980s and 1990 with 1st of the 1st Cavalry "Blackhawks" I had the absolute privilege to ski the Zugspitze! What an experience that turned out to be! "Tucher bier" was the local favorite among the Natives, and we had plenty of it lol It was a sunny morning that day until the gondola started its near vertical climb up the face of the mountain! I had a roommate, Jeff Walker, from Nashville, that was petrified of heights. You couldn't see out of the windows because of the frost but I managed to clear a spot as I was dying to see how far of a drop it would be heaven forbid we were to fall. What a view!! The wind was whipping snow up against the mountain side as the creaking gondola was putting a strain on the cables that were no longer in a horizontal position like they were when we were gliding high above the woods and sloping pastures below. We were now in a vertically climb, inching our way up the face of this scraggly mountain in a crowded and creaking gondola! I was having a blast! Jeff was trying to hide under the bench seats. Needless to say he forgot all about the ride up once we started hitting the slopes. Of course I was being ever so cruel by reminding him that I couldn't wait to ride the gondola back down the mountain side!

Stopped by this video per your recommendation and certainly not regretting it. That was truly fantastic! The scenic views from the cable cars are second to none and it must be quite surreal to venture above the clouds in them. I do regret never making it to the Zugspitze back when I was living in the Munich area and the characteristic pick-nick tables with the glasses of beer placed on them certainly summon nostalgic sentiments. Seems like I will have to go back at some point... Very impressed with your work here, thank you for this amazing video!

Such a breathtaking view from the top. That’s really a jaw-dropping cable ride. So impressive how they built the platform at the top of the Rocky Mountain. It’s a little bit scary with that short climb though.

Fab video, thanks - felt I was there. Too much though.. made my legs go a bit wobbly as, as much as I love going up mountains I don't like what I have to do to reach the top and cable cars and I don't go together well. I usually end up covering my eyes until we reach the end, almost in tears. Bad vertigo.. or more to the point, probably the fear of the thing plummeting to the ground! But the views.. worth it!

We always visit Germany for our winter holidays. We visited this area during the summer on a spontaneous trip from Frankfurt area to Italy. Stunning scenery. Thank you sharing this 👍🏼

While stationed in Schwabach, Germany 🇩🇪 all through the 1980s and 1990 with 1st of the 1st Cavalry "Blackhawks" I had the absolute privilege to ski the Zugspitze! What an experience that turned out to be! "Tucher bier" was the local favorite among the Natives, and we had plenty of it lol
It was a sunny morning that day until the gondola started its near vertical climb up the face of the mountain! I had a roommate, Jeff Walker, from Nashville, that was petrified of heights. You couldn't see out of the windows because of the frost but I managed to clear a spot as I was dying to see how far of a drop it would be heaven forbid we were to fall. What a view!!
The wind was whipping snow up against the mountain side as the creaking gondola was putting a strain on the cables that were no longer in a horizontal position like they were when we were gliding high above the woods and sloping pastures below. We were now in a vertically climb, inching our way up the face of this scraggly mountain in a crowded and creaking gondola!
I was having a blast! Jeff was trying to hide under the bench seats. Needless to say he forgot all about the ride up once we started hitting the slopes. Of course I was being ever so cruel by reminding him that I couldn't wait to ride the gondola back down the mountain side!

From Saturday on we are in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for 14 days, have already walked to the Eibsee! Years ago, we have already been up the Zugspitze with the rack railway and cable car, wonderful! The weather doesn't look so good, but we make the best out of it!

Stopped by this video per your recommendation and certainly not regretting it. That was truly fantastic! The scenic views from the cable cars are second to none and it must be quite surreal to venture above the clouds in them. I do regret never making it to the Zugspitze back when I was living in the Munich area and the characteristic pick-nick tables with the glasses of beer placed on them certainly summon nostalgic sentiments. Seems like I will have to go back at some point... Very impressed with your work here, thank you for this amazing video!

Such a breathtaking view from the top. That’s really a jaw-dropping cable ride. So impressive how they built the platform at the top of the Rocky Mountain.
