Considering your expertise & availability, how much would it cost me to pay you to supercharge my 2018 5.7 hemi charger? All parts and labor included? Great content btw
These are great questions. I will make a video on the labor side of things this month and take some time and think about what I would charge. Prices vary wildly and unfortunately install quality does as well
I have watched under two minutes of this video, and it is already clear that you are an intelligent, experienced, professional, voice of reason. Most people seem to focus and worry about just the engine. But there’s so much more to it especially in this age of computer control. Years ago when I was first learning about cars. I was told that the engine is actually the least important factor. Long time, engine builder and drag racer, Henry Jackson from cream Ridge New Jersey told me that the car itself is the most important part. You need a good solid body, chassis, rear, differential, brakes, steering, and transmission. The reasoning: you’re always going to be messing with the engine. I used to be an SRT fan and openly talk about how I hate what’s happened with the SRT culture, however, they did succeed in getting a very good platform out there in the hellcat and up trim. A lot of engineering and thinking, was taken care of so that you could get a very potent capable platform out of the box. Back engineering, a lesser platform is certainly possible but then you have all sorts of other related and downstream things to contend with. At the end of the day, for many dodge owners, the cheapest “Mod”, is an upgrade in vehicle. Hellcats are far from perfect so if you start with one, go after the weaknesses there like traction and put a real differential in the back like the drag pack cars have would be the way I would go if I ever went back to SRT.
Brother, you need to start doing this for people on the side. Definitely make money, but save people money too. You could help a lot of people, you could help them be happy
@darryldz1290 hellcat blower is plenty capable of making far more than a stock engine can handle so it's moot imo. I don't think a 3 liter would make all that much more at pump gas stock motor boost levels. The hellcat blower would be much better for a stock engine better power curve.
Thank you very much, that was a very informative video for someone like me who is new to working on cars. As someone else mentioned your calmness and demeanor are awesome. I brought a 2017 challenger I could’ve gotten a scat pack but I did some research before I brought it and found that the 5.7 engine really responds better if you want to do modifications, compared to the other higher up scat packs and demons and hellcats, I’ve had mine for six months and it’s got 30,000 miles on it. It already had some modifications on it, a deleted mufflers, mopar cold air intake and that’s all I know. I want to put a supercharger on it someday soon, I love it. Appreciate your video!
Very boost friendly! I have a 17 challenger RT too! Want to do the same mod brother. Did you change the CAI or just added the filter to the stock CAI box? I want to get a K&N CAI! Supercharger later on! 😮💨

What a great 4 video segment. I love listening to smart people when it comes to playing with cars. So I have a question Bernie. I have a 2019 new body style Ram 1500, 4x4 5.7 I bought new. She has 85K babied miles on her. 75% highway miles traveling. Never been off road. She has a 6 inch lift and I installed a Pulsar Computer programmer, and cold air intake. I am thinking about a whipple supercharger. Then I found your video. Would really like to know your thoughts about sticking a supercharger on that 5.7 with those miles on her.
Thanks! I have no concerns with supercharging an 85k mile engine. To me, new engines are more of a wildcard than “seasoned” ones. I’ll throw forced induction on a 200k+ mile engine without a care in the world. It’s just everything else attached that may fall apart from abuse. As long as your truck is healthy and your tune is solid, these are reliable upgrades!
Idk why watching that price breakdown felt so scary then you said $4734 and I was very surprised, might have to get started with mine, everything you went through would you say it was in order what to get first to last?

It’s possible but the service department will deny any warranty claim that they can link to your supercharger install. For example, if your rear differential fails - some dealerships will say the extra power from this upgrade was the cause and then refuse to repair for free
You can do whatever you want under warranty but don't expect them to actually cover anything lol. My advice stop worrying about the warranty and just do what you wanna do just do your homework and be smart about your mods.

Hey Bernie is the hellcat supercharge as good as a 3.0 whipple? I’m not sure what should I go with my 5.7 HEMI I want something as reliable as possible
The whipple ingests 20% more air per revolution than the base hellcat blower, but that can be matched with a smaller pulley. Otherwise they’re both great options and you can’t go wrong with either choice
@@CRASHBERN Had one on a 2016 mustang gt and it didn't have that issue. Can I put the hellcat supercharger on my 5.9 dodge ram
@@willcrump2942 not to my knowledge. The magnum 5.9 has a different intake spacing
Greetings! New fan here, guessing you're in Ohio? (Pursuit looks like a Old Ohio SP cruiser) Will YOU take on new customers for installation?
Can you supercharge a 2004 dodge ram?
Not sure why, but 2003 & 2004 Hemis are excluded. I suspect it’ll work but cannot say for sure what the difference is
5k ain’t bad considering the prebuilt kits are like 8k and look no where near as cool as
🎯🎯🎯 Sourcing replacement parts and blowers are a breeze too
So a hellcat supercharger straight up fits on a 5.7 heads with no mods?
Hey Bernie is the hellcat supercharge as good as a 3.0 whipple? I’m not sure what should I go with my 5.7 HEMI I want something as reliable as possible
The whipple ingests 20% more air per revolution than the base hellcat blower, but that can be matched with a smaller pulley. Otherwise they’re both great options and you can’t go wrong with either choice
Could you do my car ?
can i supercharging my 2008 chrysler aspen
Yeah, may be minor differences but they can be upgraded too
Can you help me super charger my 5.7? I'll wrench lol

I f*cking love you dog. Take my like and get out
😂😂😂😂😂
I'd rather just buy a whipple kit and not have to source parts and get lucky...
@@DemocratsRDemons steep price to pay, but I get it. You may still need the luck though, whipples can sound like a box of rocks at idle
@@CRASHBERN Had one on a 2016 mustang gt and it didn't have that issue. Plus the kit comes with almost everything you need including a pcm unlock, security bypass, tuner, credits, and a standard tune. Even includes Hellcat injectors. Traded it on 2024 Hemi Ram and saw they have a Whipple kit for my Ram but not for my year, yet.
Cool Hemi Content You answered questions I had Thnxxx & I Subscribed 🫡😎🫡
