I would add that using the box art as a reference is a good idea, especially in the beginning of the hobby when you don't know much about colors and how they look together. Get the basics of painting down then branch out into creating new and interesting color schemes.
that gun and crew display is really quite nice, I did my Cadians in a Canadian Nato cammo circa 1984I. I have also done some pretty nice gun emplacements as well as some mortor pits too
@@RIGMiniaturesAh…you know what I did? I was so excited to see the end product I skipped the bit where you mentioned Desert Storm 😅. Still, you nailed the look!
Its something I've noticed a lot with new players, they learn about some spacemarine chapter and like it, then they try painting and they simply imitate how they're "supposed to" look, when i began the hobby a million years ago it was all about creating your own chapters and painting how you like. There's absolutely no reason you couldn't paint a Spacemarine chapter with camo patterns or tiger stripes, whatever, you don't have to paint whole block colours
It’s definitely something I was encouraged to do when I started which was to follow the box art, then break out and find your own creative path but along the way the path got covered over, I’m just trying to dust a corner off for people to follow 😅
Im sorry to bug you but i am curious what you would recomed doing for a black and white inverted bug from star ship troopers and for clarification i mean takeing the black making it white and makeing the yellow orange
Sorry chap didn’t see this messages, in what context? Are you after painting advice if so, I’d do a brown base coat of the bug paint it all orange then go over with the black as it would cover all and you can start with larger orange areas and slowly close it in?
Oh wow! I honestly would need to think more and look into it better before giving any real advice! I certainly wish you all the best with it! If I find anything useful I’ll make sure to reply to here ☺️👍👍👍
The camo is awsome! I think I'm gonna try this on my sentinels. Also, if anymore videos on the diorama come up, please update the Playlist. I've been waiting for months
Ayyy a fellow enjoyer of chocolate chip camo! I use it on my infantry regiment's fatigues but keep the armor green to get the desert storm U.S. military look My armored regiment uses grey fatigues and green armor My artillery regiment? People call them Pepsi guardsmen because it's blue fatigues black armor with a red and white patch on the shoulder
I’d completely forgot this kit existed until I saw an army painted in my FLGS with more of a German fleckal pattern and when I went to reference it I was the choccy chip kit 😂😆
I think it depends on the army. Some armies I just think is best and appealing as the default. Space marine chapters like Imperial fists for example, and others like tyranids are prime for custom schemes. Imperial guard I am debating. They are so good as is, and although stuff like this is nice, it can kinda lose the warhammer aesthetic that ties the factions together. I mean, camo doesn't seem like their thing when they just seem to swarm ww1 style in number instead of stealth. More like playing a modern army against warhammer 40k factions. Idk, just depends and how well you execute it so that it fits still.
That’s fair enough, lore wise it’s not unheard of for guards to wear camouflage. Just to name a few 4th Brimlock Dragoons, 122nd Cadian and 180th Cadian ‘stalking tigers’. I’m not arguing that they must be camo and not arguing that they shouldn’t. My point is that guards get treated as one flavour, cadians must be green and tan, kreig must have dark blue trench coats, whys that catachan wearing a shirt! Even a quick dive into the lore shows a rich and varied flavour and also doing what you like and having fun with a paint scheme shouldn’t be discouraged, want a space marine with yellow arms and black armour boom imperial fist successor chapter. Ya know? As I said, I’ve done it for 20 years painted my cadians in the standard fighting fatigues always wanted and thinking of going outside the norms and painting camo… but what if it sucks or what would others think and I’d have to repaint all my cadians, well what if! Why not do it and look… turns out I’m excited to repaint my army this way. Anyway think I’ve gone off topic 😅 thanks for the comment very thought provoking thank you
Unless I can work out a solid easy and effective way to do digi cam then it’s just never gonna happen 😅. Also I’d try that old SF pattern with the Black base and neon green checkers. Can remember which SF force used it I just remember seeing a set of it once 😅.

100% agree with you! Thanks for making that point 👍☺️
If I was painting Imperial Guard, I'd like to paint them in the style of the Green Army men from Toy Story
Simple, easy! I love it but, green or tan? 😅
Might have to steal this fr haha
@BartholomewBee33 steel away my friend
@@RIGMiniatures Probably gonna go with green
@ChaseDaOrk3767 rgr
Lovin' the cammo! Might well be something I try on a few of my angry little men.
It was one of those things that seamed difficult to think about but super simple to achieve
Legendary!!!
Why thank you ☺️

Oh! Canadian kit! That definitely has a sex appeale to it!
Nice results! For the new Cadians in my Guard army I am considering a Starship Troopers homage or the Cobras from GI Joe.
Oooh, that would be cool!
Wow, epic video. Will definitely be trying this scheme!!
Crack on bay!
Has a First Gulf War vibe to my eyes, pretty darn cool. Arctic and urban camo would be an interesting look on them too.
That first gulf look was the aim ☺️

Thank you old chap! 😆😉

do you know about those color inversion pictures where any thing black becomes white and vise versa im tring to do a color scheme like that

Great stuff. Kudos. I like this desert camo scheme.
Thank you so much ☺️☺️
We US soldiers called that camo chocolate chip due to the design
Really cool way to paint camouflage! Definitely looks approachable 😊😊😊
Thanks dude ☺️☺️👍

I have painted the majority of my guard models like the box art. I have stopped since I got the tempestus aquilons
Crank some TH-cam, movies or tunes and get painting 😁

Desert storm imperial guardsman

US Desert 6 colors, aka chocolate chip 😊
Its got a rule of cool to it 😉😅
@@RIGMiniatures you should try tigerstripe!
Love your video's men, i personally feel like i cant go wrong if i copy the box.
You can never go wrong no matter what you paint your models ☺️
I’ve been (twitch) putting my models in the (twitch) oven for years. (Twitch) Never bothered me.
Same but if hawk tuw girl says! Hawk tuw girl gets 🤣🤣🤣
Your pallette looks like mum's makeup bag😂
Only on the weekends 😉😆😏
Box art style looks dated. Also, unrealistic.
And just abit drab, as it’s seen everywhere. Even I’m a culprit of it
If anyone buys and or plays those trash weapons platforms they have bigger issues than color schemes.
Looks good int he display shelf tho ☺️
So you choose the shortest used and second most garbage pattern used by the US Army….. lol
It’s all but a matter of opinion
@@RIGMiniatures turned out great tho!
😉 I personally think so, just got to repaint 20 years of guardsmen now 😅
Also ACU seamed abit complicated for batch painting 🤢
@RIGMiniatures haha ACU the posted hated camo in history. Yeah digital patterns in general are a bitch to paint in 28mm or warhammer scale
