Dude is exactly right. I couldn’t possibly keep and store all the things I paint and put together. So I enjoy painting the project and the enjoy seeing it in someone’s hands that will appreciate it. Also it has the effect of getting me to paint out of my comfort zone and on projects that if it were solely up to me I might not have picked that subject matter.
Super awesome. Hobbies like this are definitely meant to take your mind off of the everyday world and put you in another place. Me being a former a former Marine, Space Marines went straight up my alley of addiction and boosted my lore hungry drive.
Am I the only one who's dreamed of playing a game against any of Dave's armies I've been watching his stuff for so long and seen it grow overtime would be awesome to meet him across the battlefield
I agree about the models, It was the Space Crusade advert on TV that got me into Games Workshop, looked like a fun game, it made me go into my first GW store, then the models hooked me. . I still remember that kid in the ad "DREADNOUGHT!!!"
10:21 - So right about dudes and male friendships in general lol. Love your passion man, its so important to keep that excitement alive from our childhood. I could be reading into this too much but I feel like this video had a nice little nuggets of wisdom here. Being present and fully focused on the task at hand can 100% be cathartic. Its one of the special things in life, to be so engrossed in whatever activity you're doing. "In the zone" as many like to call it. I totally get the no music part too, just plays into that 100% focus thing. I know this sounds pretentious and silly but I'm just being honest I really do feel like that attitude even with hobbies can help us with other parts of life, work. IDK I just feel as I age I realize how much influence things seem to have across disciplines, even hobbies and entertainment.
The Mastadon is THE model I would love to have as my centerpiece for my Custom Salamander chapter. Its one hell of a model with a price tag to boot haha. I truly hope someday it too gets converted to plastic as many things on FW have ultimately become. Otherwise I will continue to put that kind of money towards my bills lol
I have a Mastodon, probably one of my favourite models ever to build and paint. One thing that’s meant to be possible is to join them up to make a continuous armoured tunnel but I’ve never seen it done… please do it! Please
My intro was the old FPS called Firewarrior. No idea what 40k was then i got into the lore and holly hell.... Now we have this craziness which kills the hobby...
"Mastodon" seems a little on the nose for a vehicle that looks and has a role so similar to Halo's Elephants and Mammoths. It's kind of surprising coming from a company that's so litigious about protecting "their" IP.
Just a question. At 2:04, How does that Space Marine get back INTO the Mastodon from the top hatch? It doesn't look big enough to get his upper body through.
@@MWG_Dave great question! I have no idea lol, kind of new to the lore and game, dabbling here and there, but this seems unique to what's out there. I personally like astra militarum/Krieg/ Black Templar so anything in that realm would be cool personally, but it's all very cool. Watched your other episodes and learned about abbadon, emperor's children, and the Mastadon for the first time, very cool. I hope the feedback helps
Need more Grey Knight content! I feel like they don't get a lot of love in the space but I mean come on, medieval psykers created from the Big E himself that 1v1 daemons on the daily whilst their leader is in the 9 circles of hell putting the damn doom slayer to shame? They should be far more prevalent D: Love the content though Dave! And huge to props to Scott who to me atleast is the now the Grandfather of Warhammer
Forge world models are so beautiful to me. I don’t think regular GW matches them. Like the new plastic is beautiful, I love intercessors. But I still don’t think they compare to HH stuff.
@@MWG_Dave ok hear me out what if it was a certain Tau character who possess a certain sword.... that may or may not contain a blood thirsty demon who do a conversion of that of him getting..... cleansed
Forge World.....I have purchased some and for the cost? They needed better quality. With that being said, when it was finished it looked pretty damn good. The molds needed to be better.
One of the things i love about 40k is all the sponson stuff, however tactically its like being relegated to ww1 tank tactics haha, turn, turn, turn aaaand shoot, nice, turn turn turn turn andddd shoot, nice. Lol.
Holy Hannah... It's over $600?! I stopped buying anything from GW about 3 years ago. I just couldn't justify the costs of their products to my wife anymore. Sure, they are super cool and I absolutely love a large number of their sculpts, but it's just very hard to remain in the hobby and shell out that much hard-earned money for plastic while trying to pay off the house, normal living expenses for 3 teenagers, while also saving for retirement. So, I'll just continue to live vicariously through you folks. Heh heh.
......for 650 dollers I'd expect a warlord titan not this trash :/ I mean don't get me wrong im not knocking the guy's art its damn good, but that looks disgustingly horrible as a model and WAY to expensive for what it is, just looks like 2 landraiders shoved together with a rhino in the middle :/
"How big's your pile of shame?" "Ahh, its' pretty large..." dude, he buys FW in 3 kits, there is at least a unpainted and unassebled Reaver Titan in his "pile of shame" XD

Is Dave the model collector we all want to be? He has all the cool toys and an enthusiasm which is infectious and amazing.
You're too kind, my friend. All I see is BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! 🤣

Woo hoo thanks for the reference 😁 appreciated, I'm not worthy
Love the model too, I have a 2nd waiting for me to paint atm 😅
Dude, your vid helped me so much! Thanks for your explanation and for the paint job on your Mastodon!
@MWG_Dave I've made it in youtube now 😍
I don’t know much yet but these two dudes are good people. They make it easy for new people to get into Warhammer community.

Ah! I wish I could have one of these for my Blood Angels, absolutely one of my favorite models. Wish we had them around in 40k still!
What a great model to showcase! And fully agree on the Sigismund love!!
Sigismund is a legend no doubt... but not as good as Abaddon. 😉ooops, did I just say that?
Beautiful model, definitely one of my absolute favorites for HH 🥰
Really enjoy these kinds of videos - it’s not often to get a close up look at some of the rarer minis.
That's a very generous chap
Cool paint job as well
this is prefect timing i just got mine this weekend and i've been slowly building it and it is lovely and good job on the video dave
Thank you!
Man, I would love to add a Mastadon to my 40k Dark Angels army! The Horus Heresy vehicles look real good.
I would love if you did a lore video just like the start of this one because now more people are getting into Warhammer from space marine 2
Whoever painted that did a masterclass job.

incredible model and paintjob!
Agreed and thank you. Aspiringchampionpainting did an amazing job on it.
I wish there was more vids like this. Just showcases
that honestly looks like my 2 Spartans if they had an accident whilst deploying and became a single vehicle
I call it my wine cellar and when I'm in the mood I go and grab a good kit.
Into Games Workshop since 1984...that's impressive took me until 1987 to get onboard

I like the mastodon but really only because I love the band Mastodon. That doesn’t seem like enough of a reason to get one.
I may have used a mastodon audio clip on a recent Instagram post.

We're not too far off from someone having 100 years of experience assembling Games Workshop miniatures.
Sigismund mentioned, so here's your reminder that he likely is from the 2nd or 11th legion
