Imagine just being out in the woods at night, minding your own business, living your best life. Along comes some strange creature, all covered in camo and body armor, carrying strange weapons and flashing bright lights. What a strange and terrifying encounter that would be.
@@DinnerForkTongue It is a good point that if it was close enough to steal the rocks, it was close enough to do real damage if it wanted to. Honestly, the scariest thing about that story was that the men were so deeply asleep that the collapse of the "tent" did not wake them.
This is one of my stories during land nav, but it's the scariest encounter with the unknown I've ever had. During land nav they had us doing night time navigation in pairs, we both had red lights to help us see. As we made our way to the designated LZ I spotted something so I raised my hand for the other guy and me to stop. It's eyes glowed in the dark, it was pale and stretched out. Eventually after a hot staring contest it left us alone, but as we walked and made our way through the forest I could swear it was following us. As we approached a clearing. I saw it in treeline next to us. At this point I was sure it wasn't something I wanted to get to know, so as we walked into the clearing we started to run because at that point we were about half a mile to the designated LZ. As we reached the clearing we could hear it running. UT managed to get in front of us, it knocked my buddy down but he got up and booked it to the clearing. We managed to get put, but it was clear the other guys were in a hurry to get out so I'm pretty sure this happened to them too.
As a retired disc jockey I know voice talent when I hear it. Your dignified demeanor and delivery are impeccable. Subject matter is riveting, background music it perfectly timed. I listen to your stories every night . Thanks again for all your hard work on this channel, it's the greatest.
I’m a 58 year old Cold War era Army Veteran, was stationed in Ft. Sill in Oklahoma. Out in the field, around 03:00, I’d sometimes see or hear strange things or sounds. I remember one time my buddy and I on guard duty, seen 5-6 men in Native American clothing from the 1800’s come out of some woods and charge us, then just fade out before they got to where we were. It was the spookiest yet coolest thing I’ve ever experienced paranormally. We just looked at each other wide eyed and agreed to not mention it to anyone. Few days later heard someone mention that they had seen the same thing, nobody wanted that guard duty shift while bivouacked in that area
Ft Sill does get a little bit exciting. I never had any kind of "experience" any where on Ft Sill proper, or around the western impact areas. The eastern side, well that's another story entirely. Geronimo's burial site... What could possibly happen? Our Barracks were right near I40 N on ramp so there was usually noise. Sometimes though, it got eeriely quiet and all my senses felt like electricity. It was never any kind of decent or calm feeling on the air. Incredible anger. And it always felt like danger.
Thank you for your service! You guys don't get nearly enough appreciation. As for the story, I'm pretty much agnostic in every aspect of life, so paranormal things aren't always accepted by me. But if this is true, it is most likely one of two things. A: hallucinations, caused by anything 🤷. Maybe lack of sleep, or possibly chemicals in the air or food eaten. That's the most "logical" explanation. But it could very well be option B. My first thought was maybe it is the ghosts or spirits of Native Americans who lived on the land years ago, possibly killed either directly or indirectly by colonizers and people who wanted their land. They may have been angry at people camping where they once lived.
I love the mix of terrifying stories and the fact that this guy is telling it more like an actual person, an added bonus that you can see drawing of whatever creature the story is about before they mention it, adding a sense of suspense. Definitely subbing
When you see something that shouldn't exist you just freeze. Normal things trigger fight or flight but the unexplained triggers a flood of every thought and feeling that short circuits your brain.
I believe that's called the "Oz factor." That term was coined by ufologist Jenny Randles. It refers to a bizarre state of mind, usually described by people who claim they've had an encounter with the paranormal. A feeling that things are not quite as they should be, with a strange sensation of having entered a dreamlike state of surreality where the rules of normalcy don't apply and anything can happen. It's difficult to describe if you haven't experienced it. Many people who've encountered UFOs, cryptids, ghosts, etc. have reported feeling the Oz factor. As in, "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore."
First Story: I was also a Marine who went up to Bridgeport for the same training. I even went to the same locations mentioned (via foot & helo). Other than the acclimatization period being over a couple of weeks & not days, there is something disturbingly familiar with that story. BTW, it was the BEST training we ever had!
I'm always gonna listen to our soldiers when they say something felt wrong, or they saw some shit. I don't care how crazy the story, if more than one is saying it, there's something to it.
Ayyy ya gotta admit tho... imagine you're in Afghanistan in a cave, making IEDs with the 105mm howitzer rounds you just stole from a FOB & suddenly a rake wearing a spear point with a sword & Sapper tab rappels down from the top of the mountain and whistles at you to make you look at him...... 😂😂😂😂😂
Dude the sound work on this really adds a lot. Hearing the dude breathing and the sound of something scurrying down a tree trunk while he’s describing what’s happening is way more immersive than just reading the story out loud with a creepy track. Arts super cool too.
@@CrimsonNirnrootAddict666 does that include the sound effects too? Foley work stuff? If so thats sick, I should get my hands on those sound files for dnd games.
I’m here because of officer Dowis from Springfield Illinois. I was in a car accident today and he was the responding officer. He noticed the Bigfoot and mothman stickers on the side of my truck and recommended me this page. So if you see this; You rock and thank you for all that you do 🫡
Love these stories. as a civilian i've had 1 encounter of these, sadly no one believes it due to where i live and they shouldn't exist here i'm told but i dont care, me or my dog that alerted me of it even was near us, i heard nothing, my dog just growled behind us as i was walking it and when i turned on the flashlight, i wish i hadn't, or maybe cause i did im alive still, this "Rake" was 100m/33ft away just mid crawl standing still, illuminated by my light, it was... weird, like it thought if being still i couldn't see it? i just walked backward the next 200m slowly with my dog keeping both our eyes fixed on it and then walked home, which was only another 70m pass the road. I never walked late at night (after 2200) ever again. this was 7-8 years ago, sadly my dog passed away a year later from an illness, i miss her so much.
The Rame encounter reminded me of something that happened to me back at my grandparents house. I was home alone (it was around 11pm) and my mom had been gone for about 15 minutes. I then heard her voice call me saying “Honey” “sweetie”. These are words she never uses and it should have been a red flag but I just responded with saying coming thinking she got locked out. I proceeded to go out of my room and down the stairs and I’m about to unlock the door when I decide. Hey let’s just look out side to see her. When I do I see the field in front of my house she isn’t there, but in that feild are two shining eyes( just like in that video from the guy with the roof). I quickly went back up the stairs and locked the door of my room. Few years later I talked to my grandma about this and she said she had something similar happen. She was hearing some sort of voice telling her to do something (I forget exactly what she said) but to her it felt evil. Besides it being in the same house the biggest simularites in these encounters is that we were both at our lowest points. My grandma recovering from surgery and getting over Covid and me dealing with my mom who was just laid off and we almost couldn’t afford rent. I love my grandparent, but that encounter makes me never want to sleep in that house alone. Even if that house is my childhood home.
I watch a lot of these “scary story” channels, but this narrator is by far the absolute best. As great as the stories are, this guy just seems to give them all some gravitas. I really appreciate the hard work that clearly goes into this channel.
About the second story, I would have told my sarge there was a mountain lion stalking me in the woods, and to tell the others to keep an eye up on the treetops
@@cristopherespinoza1791 It's a stretch, yeah but infinitely more believable than telling them "Hey, some creepy Gollum creature was stalking me through the woods, tell the guys to keep their eyes up in the trees and brush so it doesn't strangle them for it's precious."
Maybe it’s due to pride and not wanting to be mocked but if I were in the military and one of my colleagues looked as startled and shocked as this guy was. I’d want to know what exactly caused his fear. The military is very big on comradery. If one of my guys was brave enough to swallow his pride and admit he thought something was stalking him through the woods. I’d be thankful he cared enough about his fellow guys to make sure everyone was safe.
Wisconsin has some weird spots. I’ve had odd things happen between Sparta and Elroy on the bike path. The weirdest thing was on the Namekagon River while camping. I’d gone to bed early while everyone else was 15-20 feet away around the campfire. We’d got caught in the rain earlier in the day and I’d hung my clothes on the tent and some bushes to dry during the night. I had been in my tent maybe an hour when I hear something walking around the back side of my tent. I’m good at noise discipline (I’d never heard that term before as I’m not a military guy) and could pick out tiny noises. I figured someone was going to try and scare me or pull my tent down. I got out of my sleeping bag and got right up by the flap ready to unzip it and scare whoever was out there. I was sitting in silence, waiting, and the noises had stopped and nothing was happening. So I called out, “Who’s out there?” A few people around the fire heard my voice and answered What? I said someone is creeping around my tent. They all said they were still around the fire, and the minister even confirmed it. So I decided I was hearing things and went back to bed. The next morning, I realized my pants were still hung up to dry, but my shirt, socks and underwear were gone. I was about to ask who took my stuff when I looked down and saw very small, but human looking footprints in some mud near my tent. I showed my friend but he said I had made them and didn’t believe that I’d heard anything the night before. And that’s how some creepy gnome stole my shit.
the amount of chills I got when I first noticed the entity in the illustration at 7:53! I'm used to listening to your videos while working, occasionally glancing at the screen to look at the illustrations, but now I'm gonna be making an active effort to make time and observe the art! Your attention to detail is awesome!
I’ve done night land nav in fort McCoy. I remember feeling like someone was following me the whole time that I was in the woods. I also saw a UFO there as well.
I was at the MWTC in March of '97. I was there for the Assault Climbers Course. When my A-gunner and I were manning our listening post one night, we heard what sounded like three or more Marines advancing on our position. We called in a SITREP and awaited further instruction. I had my NVG's and was scanning back and forth looking for any signs of movement. I found nothing. The noises were getting closer, we called in a second SITREP. Over the radio our squad leader gave us a heads up that he and his grenadier were coming to join us in our listening post. When got their the noises started up again. He also thought it was either Recon or our Instructors messing with us or testing us like the Marine in the story. He called it in. Our platoon leader came over the radio and authorized us to use illumination. (The class before us had two pogs injured when they antagonized a bobcat at the same Training Site.) The grenadier launched a flare from his M203...I expected a few senior grunts to stand up and start ripping on us for being scared, but instead all we saw was what looked like glowing eyes then something pale and gray dart between the rocks and brush down the hill away from us. The embankment was too rocky and uneven for a human to go down that fast without losing their balance or causing some rocks to slide. All four of us were convinced that what we saw wasn't human or an animal. When we were relieved at 0600, my A-gunner and I went down to see if we could find any tracks, prints or evidence that what we saw was an animal. We couldn't find anything. When we regrouped with our squad leader we all decided to run it up the chain. Our platoon leader filed a report and said we had come into contact with another bobcat. I was born and raised in the desert mountains Arizona. Arizona is the only state with four wildcat species (jaguars, ocelots, mountain lions and bobcats) and the only place that has all four is in the southeast corner where I grew up. What we heard and saw that night was no bobcat. There wasn't any growling or "hissing" like they make when in close proximity to humans. Hearing this story made me glad I we weren't the only ones to encounter this type of creature at Bridgeport...at least now I know that memory is real. Thank you Wartime Stories for sharing it.
I heard stories like this when I was out at CAX. I was with Weapons 1/2, attached to 4th MEB/2 MAR DIV. Gy Sgt Wayne Chambers told us stories from MWTC. They were doing an animal packing course.
I find it interesting how soldiers see weird shit no matter where they are. The jungle, the desert, on the actual base itself. I wonder if these entities feed off the suffering that many soldiers have.
More like the inhuman beings trying their desperate best that us, hmm, "expansionist and increasingly more dangerous" humans aren't as alone and advanced as we think we are, especially on encroaching their special territory.
Or yall all have mild food allergies that you've never been tested for and all those MREs cause allergy-induced hallucinations that take the form of the figures you've already heard about
Soldiers are more likely to see "weird shit" simply because they are training at night whereas civilian campers have their suppers and fall asleep as soon as it turns dark. They are not out moving about as would soldiers training in the field such as land navigation at night.
These stories might just be the answer to what I experienced years ago at night on a very wooded base in Washington. The back of my neck started crawling like it did then. Thanks!
I lived in Sparta for 6.5 years and bow hunted/rode my bike on the 60,000 acres that made up Fort McCoy pretty often. Also made friends with a lot of the CSU researchers out there that were doing environmental studies in the day and at night. While I never saw a rake while out hunting or riding trails, between the stories that have come from the CSU guys, and my own sightings, there is a lot of weird stuff that goes on out there. In 2016 after finishing up an evening hunt on the east side of base, NE of cantonment, that was cut short by several bobcats screaming at each other (super creepy if you’ve never heard it before, especially in the timber with night approaching). I had just got back to my truck that was parked on the road and I happened to look back east, over my shoulder as I’m loading my gear into the bed of the truck, and above the ridge that makes up the east edge of fort, there was a flash of bright amber light. Turning around to get a better look, I see the remaining glow “drifting” north, parallel to the ground. As it goes out a new, bright light illuminates to the north of it and does the same thing, drifts north, perfectly parallel to the ground before fading out of existence. I watch this about 5 times when all of a sudden a rush of noise overhead causes me to duck; 3 helicopters with door gunners are racing towards where the lights were and I was able to make out one guy waving me away from the area. I’ve seen military flares before, and what I saw weren’t those. Also had a different sighting down on Camp Douglas in the same year, where there were rotating, flashing lights in a fixed point above the airfield that, after several sequences, shot straight up in the air at such speed that they were a blur. Lots of strange stuff going on in that area for sure!
I live in Southeastern Wisconsin in a rural area north of I-94 between Milwaukee and Madison. I've seen aircraft pass over my house all the time but there was this one incident on my summer vacation between 1st and 2nd grade ( mid 1990's) where my aunt, my brother, and I were in our side yard looking west one night. I looked at the stars and noticed one that stood out, most stars shine blue or white in color but this object ( about 20 degrees above the horizon) shined an amber or gold color. I pointed it out to my family who acknowledged it but didn't react much more to it. I kept observing it and realized it was moving and leaving a glowing gold trail behind it eventually making a figure 9 in the sky. It creeped me out and asked if we could go inside after that. To this day I can't explain it.
I live in Milwaukee. Me and my pops would drive up to Fort McCoy to hunt small game. And I’ve seen and heard some freaky stuff in the valleys of large hills/cliffs.
Hmm you described something similar to a friend of mines story, but this one took place in washington state in the north cascades. East on highway 2 if i remember correctly. Him an his wife saw a bright light zoom around a low mountain as they left a trailhead while a storm made landing in the area, he claims 30 seconds later a group of helicopters an even a demn jet followed its path. The look in his eyes and the way him an his wife spoke was enough to know he was true to what they saw. As wild as it sounds.
I've seen something similar while driving north on I69 near gas city Indiana, except it was very pale and moved in an arced motion and it moved along north for a bit and then went west.
Loved listening to these stories. Great job! My Marine husband would have loved listening to these, but he passed away 2 years ago. I miss his military ways and jargon. Thanks!❤️
The sound ambiance was phenomenal!!!! Listened to this in the dark while waiting for my babies to sleep and boy did my skin crawl especially with the second story. I'm so addicted to this channel. ❤
I am from northern California born and raised. My step father is a doomsday prepper and well we spent a lot of time out in the wilderness in the region. Where i lived, north of the redwoods, south of the mountains we never went to the northeast..... north, south, west, but never east but twice, one time for the snow and another for fishing, yet we never stayed the night in those areas. This step-father also spent my years until about i was about 12 homeless with my mother, the ateas that are now well known were remote at the time, but i recently asked her if she had stayed in those area's....... she never went deep into the woods up there called the siskious but I recall warnings of the area and to this day ive wondered why so many disappear up there....
You know I used to love that area in my teens and then I was going to move over there last year and I came right back home I drove 6 hours and then drove 6 hours back.
I’m a retired Marine myself and these stories from the Corps sound legit AF. You have a great channel. Also, your animations, voice, and narrations are on point!.. So I subscribed. I never subscribe to $hit lol. Thanks brother!
These rake encounters legitimately scare me. These guys are very clearly intelligent, and intelligence makes an animal, including us, unpredictable. Plus, if the crawlers did really putz around with the tarps without waking up the soldiers, they were - as a fellow commenter noted - close enough to attack by surprise and clearly skilled enough at noise discipline to reach that distance more than once. If one of those things attacked, I doubt it would be out of animalistic predatory instinct. Panicked defensive animosity is a VERY hard hostility to dissuade.
They are probably so fake but they are the only cryptid that scares the shit out of me….mostly bc the stories are so unsettling & their appearance is as well.,.but like, on a visceral level lol i *LOVE* stories about these things!!
@@AverageAmerican did you ever see the video where the guy is inside his house and is allegedly getting a rake on video that’s in his backyard so he calls his pastor to pray with him?? That vid, again could be totally fake, but it REALLY scared me…& im 41 lol nothing should be scaring me at this point of my life but that one creature really spooks me lol if you haven’t seen that vid you should check it out! It’s so creepy!!
i have practiced noise discipline since a very young age (not so perfect living conditions), lol, didn't know it was a skill in the military. makes sense, just funny to hear a proper term for it. i often scare people when walking up and am referred to as a ninja. these are awesome videos, thank you for posting.
It was you up on that hill ducking behind covet, wasn't it? Just admit it dude we caught you. They foiled your midnight mango dancing under the moonlight by snoring near by and you wanted to show them how much you didn't appreciate it. Any response you give other than "yes that was me doing the weird stuff you described" will be immediately disregarded and viewed as a defensive attempt to deny what we all know. Good day 😂
I started walking toe-to-heel because I was extremely clumsy and would drag my feet as a kid, and would step on or jab my feet into sharp objects on damn near a weekly basis; the number of pointy things, nails, pins, and such I've had stuck in my feet is almost funny. But putting my toes down first forced me to pay much more attention to where I was stepping, and before long it became automatic and I didn't even think about it. Now after 20+ years, walking heel-to-toe feels very weird and unnatural to me (it's nicer for walking on cold floors at night, too.) But _now_ it's just damned annoying how every time I walk up to anyone they jump when they notice me out of the corner of their eye and swear they didn't hear me come near, and how often people leave a room I just entered and turn off the lights on me because they say they didn't hear me walk in. I have to intentionally make noise just so I don't make everyone jump. Really, really damn annoying.
I'm a retired USAF security police NCO and now a member of Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. Every branch always bags on us airmen and we honestly find it funny cause we know you all know how good we got it. It's all good; we're all brothers and it's like playing "Yo momas so fat..." joking. I believe its called the dozens. Anyway I'm listening to this story and started laughing when you mentioned us staying at the Hilton. Made me feel right at home and I thank you for that. Love your TH-cam and happy to hear you joined up with Mr Ballen for a podcast. You both are my go to guys. Well Semper Fi to you and please try to color inside the lines with your crayons! 😂
Absolutely enthralled with your stories and narrations. Exceptional work! You mentioned German soldiers seeing things while in the field. Would love seeing it if it is made. Stationed in Deutchland for 6 years and know the country well. Thanks!
Knowing what you have seen and still being unable to tell someone cause you know they wont belive you is probably the hardest thing to endure. the Fort McCoy story feels so relatable.
29:24 It says he’s the narrator “Luke Lamana” and right after that the artist is named “Pykotta” as in the person who does the actual illustrations in the video.
This channel makes me wish I was older when my great-uncle was alive. He was a WWll veteran who fought in the Brazilian Expeditionary Forces, even being japanese he fought in the allied side! I wish I could hear his stories as iF we were in a smok pit chatting.
"Not perfect for everyone..." You have that right brother. Been out of work for year. Got sick and then came back to the worst economy since Jimmy Carter. Final interview in five hours. Woke up at 0300 because I could not sleep. Really need this job. Can't work fast food, retail or manufacturing due to handicaps. And I am really only qualified for one other industry- and it is dead right now. This is the first real solid interview I have had in over a dozen. I know nobody will see this by the time of the interview, but please pray. I know your friends submitting these stories were afraid, but there is another kind of fear. Fear of being evicted. Fear of sitting in a very cold, very dark house because the power was turned off, fear of living on the streets because you got nowhere else to go. Not sure which is worse. Death don't look too bad to me right now...
Ft. McCoy is so damn eerie. Spent a month there with my units recon/sniper platoon and had a ton of weird incidents. Bears following us, a PFC sitting on a sleeping wolf at night, an all white wolf in an open field by our radio tower, the 101st building a gym in the woods…
Bears following you is no surprise. Grizzlies have been known to actively track hunters - there's a number of theories why but the big one is nearly any predator in an ecosystem with hunters knows that a gunshot is usually an advertisement for a tasty meal to scavenge (organ meats from a dressed kill, usually).
The rake was a story from 4chan, a few images of these "pale crawlers" or similar creatures got attached to it later and are noticeably different in appearance from the original description of the rake
Exactly. Even if one believes in these creatures or the paranormal, rakes are 100% not true and confirmed to be entirely made up. Crawlers at least have some 'evidence' for them, even though most of it can also be explained as common animals
Wartime Stories dropping a 35+ minute video on Pale Crawler encounters is so freaking awesome. Thank you Wartime for the stories and content you provide for they are top notch man. God Bless my friend! Merry Christmas as well!!
Just found your gem of a channel yesterday and instantly subscribed. Your style of narrating is captivating. And your marine experiences sprinkled in are great. Greetings from a former German Infantryman and GWOT Vet. Horrido Joho
Appreciate the countless stories that keep me awake while at work or out in the field. I’ve grown up in the mountains of South Carolina right on the borders of North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee for all of my life. The Blue Ridge mountains are notorious for stories of “Pale Walkers”, Bigfoot, skin walkers and shit like that, an they all sound fake until you start talking to the old hillbilly guys that have lived alone up in the mountains for years who share stories of weird things like Bigfoot or skinwalkers or hell even the rake, makes you really wonder what actually is out there.
Saw the cover of this video and was immediately brought back to an experience I also had during a spring package training in Bridgeport attached to 1/7 in 2019. During the entirety of the training there was intense rain, winds and it was extremely cold, towards the very end there was an event where we had to “assault through” on the “enemy”. We were all already extremely drenched, cold, water in all of our gear, everyone was just in the black and wanted to get it all over with. As we came to the end we lost communication with the platoon that was staged in the rear so we took a pause under a tree-line, during this time the rain picked up heavily and so did the winds, it felt as if we stood under that tree-line waiting to regain comms for such a long time, however it may have only been 45 mins. We all were just sitting there taking on the weather, waiting for hypothermia to hit us, as i was sat next to one of my buddies leaned up against a tree, i began to get so cold i gained tunnel vision and stared into the woods. In the very center of my vision coming out of the woods, i then saw what i can only describe as a skinny, bony, pale-ish, nude creature slowly crawling and making its way towards us in a curious manner. I was filled with fear however i couldn’t move. It wasn’t until another Marine finally hyped out and began seizing due to the weather, that one of the Staff Sgt’s began to run around and yell and wake everyone up so we could take the Marine to the nearest road and try and regain comms to get an evac with 7tons.
Love your stories, man. Worst I ever encountered “in the field” was a couple of wild boar in Germany and one rattle snake at Fort Irwin NTC. Never ran into ANYTHING like what you talk about here. If I did, I probably would have 💩 my BDUs. Keep up the great work, bro.
Scariest encounter I’ve had was hearing something scream in the middle of the night in Ft Wainwright Alaska while sleeping in a 10 man tent. It was -40 outside and all training was basically halted due to the weather which was the scariest thing.
@@aletron4750 The Sasquatch in Alaska are supposed to be massive in size, 12' + , and less than friendly. Most of the Bigfoots in the lower 48 are known to hate dogs and it's the same with the Alaskan kind. In one account, a man was traveling in the bush on a four-wheeler with his dog which weighed about 200 pounds and they set up a tent for the night. A couple hours after he went to sleep, he was awakened by his dog that was now under his cot, which he thought was strange, and the dog had a low, quiet growl. He thought it might be a bear or something so he got up, grabbed his powerful handgun, and went outside to look. His dog followed. Where they were met by a gigantic Sasquatch that was anything but happy! The first thing it did was let out a horrible roar that made the man's whole chest vibrate and sent his dog to squeeze under the ATV in fear. So, he pulled his gun up and shot 3 or 4 quick shots right above the Bigfoot's head. Then this thing went ballistic! But it moved away and as it did, it screamed and cussed and ripped up trees, as it went. So, I'm glad you didn't get to see that creature at Ft. Wainwright!
Good work, here ... and to you for the service. Boars a personal fear since Old Yeller decades ago! None in Montana, though. However a lot of drama living outside Glacier Park with bears/wolves ... all positive, thank God. Trigger here was your rattler comment. Now on remote farm in SE Montana. Flanks Custer National Forest so zip other residences x one other cattle ranch so bear, lions, elk ... way beyond assumption BUT the rattlers are the #1 most populous and common hazard. A 10 foot pole w/sharpened hoe mounted outside as standard equipment (plus a gun) turned out a SUPER SERIOUS instruction, not a punk. Except for mowed compound, tall grass became the new Jaws water. Holy hell, 14 encounters in first months, 99% w/o me being aware until on 'em. Yet only had to dispatch one right next to cabin, refusing to leave and engaged me. More a fair fight than thought as its cammo was so good even KNOWING where it was. Passing a grizzly is less frightening than seeing an arm-thick rattlesnake slithering away into the grass you were almost on. But must admit there is little "courage facing constant deadly danger" because those 99% would have gotten me first had they not clearly warned ... with most fleeing. So no Shoot On Sight. Coffee rant, too. You COULD fire in self-defense, right? Unless live rounds aren't carried in training? Rhetorical I guess as a lot varies from place-to-place. Last week at a pioneer dump about a quarter mile away, I was snooping through and found an expanded cave; perfect shelter for a den. Bear was kneejerk thought but put down a flour patch and got a very large mountain lion print. VERY dense, isolated game area; no real worries but reported to warden who noted it and stressed I had every reason to kill it in self-defense but guess jail if I went out to hunt it! And messing around its den is provoking, not defending. Oh. final blab ... strikes me too of the sh@tstorm if it ends up some kid messing around getting shot out of a tree because a guy got spooked. Manifesto ends. Carry on.
This video was completely terrifying!! That second story had me shivering 😮. Just amazing work Luke, this is the best yet 👍. I'm so happy more people are getting turned on to the best paranormal channel. Thank you for your hard work 😊
@jamesmryncza2957 dude what kind of man are you? 😂😂 the story had you shivering🤣🤣🤣 u need to man up bro that’s crazy you sat and typed that. That’s crazy. Non of this shit is real but ur shivering🤣🤣🤣 weak as hell bro
My mom helped a Marine publish his stories, so I love what you've done here man. I know they are true from real warriors. And the supernatural and video animations are rad!! 👍California photographers caught some creepy audio. I can't remember how you can find the video, but the voices mimicked the photographers voices. Truly spooky.
"As I've said, these are not the only stories I've received so far. And quite possibly these two are not the most terrifying." Now I definitely want to hear those!
Soldiers die during training every year some of them are explainable accidents and there's 1% that can't be explained when a soldier is lost during the training.
I was stationed at MWTC Bridgeport and it’s absolute beautiful wilderness for miles. It’s perfect for all sorts of unsightly creatures to hide. The rake is actually based on real folklore and some Native Americans will tell you their Wendigos.
This is quickly becoming my favorite youtube channel period. Looking to be as great as this channel, one day,,with actual video evidence of what I find in the woods.
If you have any doubts on these stories, the natives of North, central and south have bizarre stories as well. My grandfather told me insane stories from the country side mountains in Puebla Mexico. One was him being lured by a beautiful woman at night and started choking him once he got close. As he escaped her grip, she no longer looked like a woman, but a floating demon who was transparent as the moon hit her. Mexico is full of these bizarre stories.
Confirmo, si quieres asustarte hasta el alma, escucha los cuentos de miedo de los ancianos en los pueblos de México, los señores tienen historias que harían que hasta Lovecraft perdiera el sueño
@@GreyWalker-isme And why do you think that is? It's to instill desired behavior starting from childhood, so that the tribe stays together and doesn't venture out and put themselves or others at risk, seeing as they lived in the wilds and all. Believing in skinwalkers is much greater motivation then a bobcat. Lets not forget also, that other tribes are just at much or even more of a threat then wild animals or nature in general.
@@darklordsauron3415 are you used to dealing with kids or something? That was about the most condescending, un-asked for, explanation I've gotten in quite a long time. And to answer your rhetorical question: I think that is, because there are some horrifying and unexplainable things out there that defy all logical explanation to our prejudice and programming of our preconceived notions we have about the mystery we are experiencing. The fact that many cultures, separated by time and space, having stories of shared 'cryptids' adds to the validity that they stem from truth, not from the imagination of parents.
I'm glad I caught this after an hour of it being uploaded! Thank you for bringing these fascinating stories to life! From an Air Force vet, you earned a sub!

I'm 43 now and aren't really afraid of much in the dark anymore. But I just realized that listening to these stories now when we have had such a warm period that we must have every window and door open to be able to sleep at all at night wasn't a very good idea. Though, I can't say I ever have heard or seen anything spooky in the woods where I live in Sweden. I'm a very analytical individual, so besides me being a bit spooked, I instantly gets curious to how these creatures evolved or appeared. Could they be demons, or lab experiments gone wrong or what? Can the government(s) have gotten a specimen but don't want to alarm the public? So many questions. Nothing really happens in Sweden, but I did get a bit surprised about how many missing people we have when I looked up that after binge watching "missing people" cases on YT. Just wanted to also point out how much I like your story telling voice. MrBallen also has a very good story telling voice, but different to yours. Subscribed this evening, after a few days of listening. Keep up the good work! It's a very cozy yet spooky weather here tonight. As I mentioned, very warm but a bit windy, and now it started raining and there's also some thunder. I love it!

Just found your channel and these stories have reminded me of one of my own: I’m a lcpl in the marines, deployed to Okinawa/korea in 23’, during which my platoon did an exercise nicknamed jdubbs (jungle warfare training). Towards the end of the course you set up a PB (patrol base) and over the next 2 days and 2 nights you practice patrolling/navigating through the thick veg and hilly terrain. My platoon made our movement right at dusk underestimating the time it would take to emplace into our pb so by the time we got there it was pitch black, so dark your hand at arms width would disappear, for this reason we used a long ass length of 550 that everyone grabbed onto when we pushed into the tree line, about an hour or so after we set into our pb fireflies lit up the jungle (my first time seeing them). It was around this time our acting platoon sergeant told us we were good to move to 50% security so we could all set up sleeping areas. I was lucky enough to be right next to a tree that almost grew horizontally about a foot and a half off the ground. So I grabbed my tarp, some 550 I had and my neck knife I used to have on my kit and began building a low profile shelter. (Side note: something that I learned earlier in the course is to dummy cord anything you might need during the night to eachother or to your belt, for example I had my 550 bundle, knife sheath, lighter, tourniquet, and gloves all dummy corded to a caribeaner I had on my belt.) I cut up a long strand of 550 into 5 equal lengths to use as anchor points, 3 to the tree and 2 to stakes I made out of sticks after wards I sheathed my knife and set it to the side and began tying my tarp down, mid way through tying one of the strands I felt a tug on my belt pulling rear wards, I quickly turn around and did a quick scan and saw nothing, chalked it up to delirium and got back to work, a few minutes later I needed to widdle notches into my stakes as I went for my knife I had found that the cordage to it was behind me and the knife was gone. Over the rest of the night I kept waking up to what sounded like rain drops hitting my tarp but after poking my head out would see unimpeded moon light and no rain. The next morning I tried looking everywhere for that knife to no avail. So I gave up and finished packing my gear back up ready to push out. As we were leaving I glanced up at a tree about 10 feet from where I slept and saw my knife stabbed in the tree about 12-13 feet up. I told this story to a guy at a bar in Kin town, near our barracks, and he told me a similar story and told me the Japanese have a story about a spirit named kijimun that are known to play harmless pranks that slowly escalate over time in the jungles of Okinawa.
Been on a few land nav courses - as enlisted and officer. While some of them were harder than others there was always an expectation of safety. Just so long as you stayed hydrated, wore the right gear, didn’t fall into a ravine or mess with the wildlife. The idea of running into something freaky in the middle of the night while out there alone creeps me out.
When I was stationed at Fort Lewis, I fell into a giant ant hill that I swear wasn’t there before. Land nav sucks already but being covered in ants and losing my compass was my worst experience doing it. I’ve had a lot of strange experiences over my 25 years in the army and that one was a mild one and we all had a good laugh at my expense.
I was in Hawaii, doing night land nav at East range, right outside of Schofield Barracks. Dark night, lots of canopy, ran into a family of hogs. That scared me, I said F my point and took the long way to my destination 🤣
I’ve seen a creature like this around my house. As well when I was walking my dog at night I’ve seen it looking into my windows at night as well. Haven’t seen it in a couple years, but I live in the sticks.
I've had them almost walk up on me as I slept , I let out a shout and it ran off, it was speaking a language with a animal voice. I never saw it , it had no foul smell either. Idk wtf it was . Three encounters in the same area.
Came across you by accident. I like these stories! I am a retired Master Chief, and have a lot of respect and admiration for Marines. Thank you, and I will like and subscribe.
God that last story from you was just the most hilarous thing ive heard in a week, please do this more because I know you have alot of funny and amazing personal stories

Lol at your first duty station and only seeing centipedes. I'm from Hawaii and when I served in the national guard there, we would go to the range to qualify with our weapons and whatnot which lasted all day into the night. One time when we were getting ready to set up for night firing with the tracers and our night vision scopes, the full moon was out and me and a couple people in my unit were sitting in the back of an LMTV getting ready for our turn on the range, and this huge boar comes running through our camp at lighting speed going into the woods behind the range. One of the sergeants yelled "ho look at da bacon brah!" No, we never caught and killed it and ate it. But trust me, as someone native to Hawaii, and given it's history and culture and geography, you'll see way more than just centipedes out there. Great content though WS! I hope you see this and I hope you enjoyed your time being stationed in Hawaii!
Voice acting, sound effects, animation - so you can have a better visual about whats happening - this quickly becomes one of my favorites for scary stories
I wonder why the second person didnt tell the people there. I mean i get it you dont want come out as crazy but you have clear evidence multiple times, if it was just once i can understand that you wiuld brush it off as your senses playing tricks on you, but it kept happening to him, even seeing it again at the end, shouldn't he have told the people there that theres something out there since he was navigating? What im saying is that when something shocking happens you would want to tell someone immediately like having no control of it perhaps but it seems off and unbelievable that he just said "im fine" as if he has seen it thousand time in his life.

Yeah. His storytelling really helps to suspend disbelief and just get hooked by the tales he shares!
The volume, timbre, and balance/leveling of the narrator's voice is beyond exquisite
Imagine just being out in the woods at night, minding your own business, living your best life. Along comes some strange creature, all covered in camo and body armor, carrying strange weapons and flashing bright lights. What a strange and terrifying encounter that would be.
That could be an April fool's episode
That is pretty funny.
What a twist
Nothing you can do but steal its tent boulders. That'll teach them.
I never went back to California for land nav again.
Wow! Thankyou for sharing!
Sorry I'm not an Army guy so what does UT stand for? Excuse my ignorance and a scary experience.

Cool story 😊
Very cool story! Thankyou for your service!
Thats the walking sam bro. Us natives have known him for a while. It's not Geronimo.
Normal things trigger fight or flight but the unexplained triggers a flood of every thought and feeling that short circuits your brain.
good way to put that
Bingo. 😊 My first time seeing an apparition, my body literally froze and I had a bad tunnel vision that took a bit to zoom out of. Crazy
"shouldn't exist"
Eh, the arrogance of human mind...
Because we have been lied to that Cryptids and other Paranormal stuff isn't out there, when it actually is...

as a civilian i've had 1 encounter of these, sadly no one believes it due to where i live and they shouldn't exist here i'm told but i dont care, me or my dog that alerted me of it even was near us, i heard nothing, my dog just growled behind us as i was walking it and when i turned on the flashlight, i wish i hadn't, or maybe cause i did im alive still, this "Rake" was 100m/33ft away just mid crawl standing still, illuminated by my light, it was... weird, like it thought if being still i couldn't see it? i just walked backward the next 200m slowly with my dog keeping both our eyes fixed on it and then walked home, which was only another 70m pass the road. I never walked late at night (after 2200) ever again.

That's a Skinwalker problem you got there.

Yup. I feel like I’m there and also, unlike other stories, he just makes them sound like what would happen in real life.
About the second story, I would have told my sarge there was a mountain lion stalking me in the woods, and to tell the others to keep an eye up on the treetops
Mountain lions aren’t very common in Wisconsins, there’s about 20 sightings per year. So it would be hard for him to believe that
@@cristopherespinoza1791 It's a stretch, yeah but infinitely more believable than telling them "Hey, some creepy Gollum creature was stalking me through the woods, tell the guys to keep their eyes up in the trees and brush so it doesn't strangle them for it's precious."
@cristopherespinoza1791 could've been a bobcat though.
@@St3a1thsniper32 Spot on! Why keep a potential predator a secret from the rest?
So I called out, “Who’s out there?”
A few people around the fire heard my voice and answered What?
I said someone is creeping around my tent.
They all said they were still around the fire, and the minister even confirmed it.
So I decided I was hearing things and went back to bed.
The next morning, I realized my pants were still hung up to dry, but my shirt, socks and underwear were gone. I was about to ask who took my stuff when I looked down and saw very small, but human looking footprints in some mud near my tent. I showed my friend but he said I had made them and didn’t believe that I’d heard anything the night before. And that’s how some creepy gnome stole my shit.

Not gonna lie, when he talked about it twitching and he felt like it was looking toward him? Immediate goosebumps. Good and creepy

Or yall all have mild food allergies that you've never been tested for and all those MREs cause allergy-induced hallucinations that take the form of the figures you've already heard about
Sleep loss can make you see some crazy stuff, especailly paired with the stress of tasks
Soldiers are more likely to see "weird shit" simply because they are training at night whereas civilian campers have their suppers and fall asleep as soon as it turns dark. They are not out moving about as would soldiers training in the field such as land navigation at night.
Military also plays in some of the last remaining frontiers above the ocean.
@@doccholo905 yes, Fort McCoy is in the vicinity of both Sparta and Tomah.
People out here finding Gollum from LOTR!! Great stories and perfect storytelling! Enjoying the channel!
_"If one of those things attacked..."_

@@galatians-2.20 Mango dancing? lol
Now after 20+ years, walking heel-to-toe feels very weird and unnatural to me (it's nicer for walking on cold floors at night, too.)
But _now_ it's just damned annoying how every time I walk up to anyone they jump when they notice me out of the corner of their eye and swear they didn't hear me come near, and how often people leave a room I just entered and turn off the lights on me because they say they didn't hear me walk in. I have to intentionally make noise just so I don't make everyone jump. Really, really damn annoying.

Appreciate the countless stories that keep me awake while at work or out in the field. I’ve grown up in the mountains of South Carolina right on the borders of North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee for all of my life. The Blue Ridge mountains are notorious for stories of “Pale Walkers”, Bigfoot, skin walkers and shit like that, an they all sound fake until you start talking to the old hillbilly guys that have lived alone up in the mountains for years who share stories of weird things like Bigfoot or skinwalkers or hell even the rake, makes you really wonder what actually is out there.
shits very very real, lived on a wood line my childhood. seen some crazy things
This is my first video on this channel and the way this guy tells the stories is like a friend telling me a story on a FaceTime call! And I love it!
It was -40 outside and all training was basically halted due to the weather which was the scariest thing.
i was stationed at fort irwin for a little bit, do not miss it
@@aletron4750 The Sasquatch in Alaska are supposed to be massive in size, 12' + , and less than friendly.
Carry on.
Enjoyed your coffee rant ☕, thanks man, cool read

If you have any doubts on these stories, the natives of North, central and south have bizarre stories as well. My grandfather told me insane stories from the country side mountains in Puebla Mexico. One was him being lured by a beautiful woman at night and started choking him once he got close. As he escaped her grip, she no longer looked like a woman, but a floating demon who was transparent as the moon hit her. Mexico is full of these bizarre stories.

Better be careful sometimes we'll bump into that situation

Great stories, love hearing all these stories that are usually kept under wraps by command.
Came across you by accident. I like these stories! I am a retired Master Chief, and have a lot of respect and admiration for Marines. Thank you, and I will like and subscribe.
I've been binging your channel for the past few nights and I gotta say, I'm hooked. You do an amazing job of telling these stories! Keep it up.
God that last story from you was just the most hilarous thing ive heard in a week, please do this more because I know you have alot of funny and amazing personal stories
These and the tales from the grid square stories are the best. You guys make the stories so much more chilling
I'd love to hear more about these crawlers for sure... thanks. Peace
I've followed this channel since the very first one. Intensely interesting and I've had enough family and friends in the military, that these stories are definitely true.
Thank you for your time and effort to bring us these stories.
May you and yours have a happy, joyous and safe Holiday! 🎄💖✨
6:40 - Every detail in this story is so well thought out. Loving it! 😍
Dude has THE BEST voice for narration I've ever heard!!
imagine a game with the premise being different encounters like these. would be sick!
I love this one. The stories, the narration, the pacing, the artwork... all superb.
Some of the best ghost stories are told by soldiers and sailors. This is a good one. Author, Where the spirit leads, haunting stories and poems.
Your channel has very interesting content, and you’re a great narrator! Thanks for sharing your cool stories.
This is definitely one of the best narrators I’ve ever heard for these. I love his voice
I love the way you tell stories it’s just like a buddy telling me a story after a night out or something it’s great
Lol at your first duty station and only seeing centipedes. One of the sergeants yelled "ho look at da bacon brah!"
No, we never caught and killed it and ate it. But trust me, as someone native to Hawaii, and given it's history and culture and geography, you'll see way more than just centipedes out there.
Great content though WS! I hope you see this and I hope you enjoyed your time being stationed in Hawaii!
i knew this story was going to be about pigs as soon as i hit "hawaii". no one told these guys in the video about the pigs? theyll fuck you up
Voice acting, sound effects, animation - so you can have a better visual about whats happening - this quickly becomes one of my favorites for scary stories
Keep up the great work man, I get goosebumps from every video looking forward for more stories
Who needs sleep when you got great content like this
0:58 Nice Air Force callout. It gave me and a dew of my relatives who have served in the other branches a good laugh XD
Dude the second one is the scariest story I have heard in recent times. Your illustration even makes it even more compelling and realistic.
