    Great review on your say about the router.
    I actually have the same router myself and I made use of it during my road trip with my dad (me and him live in Canada). I used that router as a repeater in the hotel room and it's ultra useful.

    I just found the GL.inet Routers, I got an Opal for my work and I love it! I use it with a LiveU LU300 encoder and it lets my use wifi at locations that have a portal that you need to go through to access the Wifi. Since the LU300 does not have a web browser. Although the LU300 has cell modems if I can use Wifi I like to. It works great!

    I use the GL.Inet Beryl router with my Mevos and love it! I usually connect all Mevo Starts, and my Android tablet wirelessly to the Beryl. I then connect my phone's hotspot to the Beryl as the WAN source. The router easily manages all of the signals from the Mevos and the tablet and then the multicam stream is uploaded via my phone's hotspot. That way the phone is handling just one stream, not multiples. Works quite nicely for what I done so far.

    • @ZyxxyDigitalMedia
      @ZyxxyDigitalMedia ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, the Beryl will allow me to connect the Mevos and tablet together in a wifi dense environment without much trouble. I love it! I might upgrade to the AX if the "boss" allows it! ;)

    I have the beryl version of this router and have been using it for a couple of years in my live streams. I have noticed a couple of times it stopped routing randomly, and I think it was heat related. I can't be certain. We are talking about 2 or 3 times out of hundreds and hundreds of hours of streaming.

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bobriley692 In theory, no problem. Some will depend on the size of the field, but at a high school field (Rick and I both stream high school ball) you can set up your router on top of the dugout and get line of sight to center. 300ft line of sight for WiFi6 should be no problem outdoors. I’ll be doing the range test after this next set of rainy days is past.

      Wi-Fi 6 is what extends the range and speed for data transfer of your setup with the Slate router. The Opal you listed is not. On this alone I’d try to aim for the Slate.

    @@JasonHoffmanYT Can you consider a video that explains why this setup would be better than simply buying a new inseego 5g with Wi-Fi 6, or a net gear M6, and using that as both router and cellular internet?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll look into it. First reaction would be to allow the cellular device (inseego/netgear) to only handle cellular traffic. Its cpu will (I think) eventually choke or overheat if asked to handle traffic for multiple cameras AND talk to the cell tower.

      Just replied to your email. I have set up Speedify two ways: On my ipad so it bonds the cell connection there and the ethernet connection from my MiFi device. I have also installed it to the firmware on this travel router so it would combine the same connections. I think the ipad use is easier. BUT I’m working on getting this router to combine connections via its MultiWAN feature found in the web interface.
