A lot of people are missing the point of the video this is how to get absolutely overpowered equipment earlier in ALL ways, not juat Knight Swords with Gaffgarion. Respect
The Gaffgarion Ninja grind is so tedious that it makes unlocking Dark Knight look like a 5 minute task :D Regardless, that is the only way to get Knight Swords in chapter 2... I actually love poaching, when I'm not grinding to unlock abilities / in story battles I often have Poach on multiple units. I am too lazy to recruit and then poach the offspring, but yeah I guess that makes more sense if you're after specific items. I honestly didn't know the Great Malboro has a common drop of Elixirs, I might have to look into getting a bunch! :D
It took me so long to do behind the scenes lol. Getting Dark Knight with Ramza in Chapter 1 was way way easier. And true that, it is the only way to get Knight Swords at that point. Time to stock up on Elixirs lol. Thanks for your comment and always watching and being here! Also the Stoneshooter Dark Behemoth thing even though I'm not a fan of guns myself personally
@@J7Jase I think I had the Stoneshooter once in the PSX version, and for a non-magical gun, wow does it pack a punch! But of course some unit will waste a turn de-petrifying that unit lol
Wow, the memories! I remember discovering this years ago on PS1 (and later did it on WOTL), and was kinda shocked that no one had this trick listed online at the time (either I missed it or no one was quite as insane as I was). I actually went one step even crazier and waited to level Gafgarion at all until we were at the falls; he still throws Defender swords at the lower levels (until the 70s if I remember), but doing it this way allows you to get the entire Knight Sword catelogue (or katanas, I did it with those once also). I remember trapping him on a corner of the falls ledge with 2 guys and had a catcher just in throw range with a reviver on standby in case my 97 brave catch rolled the 3% and biffed it. I was able to force attacks out of him by moving my catcher out of range and turning one of my blockers' backs to him; I distinctly remember that he refused to attack in the WOTL version unless I used Chakra first for some reason. The whole process took an obscene amount of time (from start of Ch2 to ending the falls battle alone took over 6 hours as I recall, not to mention the time needed to level to 99 and get your jobs in order), but I hold it as one of my grand "no life" gaming achievements alongside getting the Demon Overlord title in La Pucelle Tactics in Chapter 1.
I think there is another video but its not as detailed or in depth I think. I mean I guess that can work but you would need to unlock the job requirements for ninja and etc. a bit earlier and then level him. It can still work and could be better. As for Defenders low 90s and then you can level him up to eventually catch Chaos Blades. It is an insane grind lol but I wouldn't recommend it ever
I did this Knight Sword grind when War of the Lions released. Pairing this equipment with the added Dark Knight class makes gameplay ridiculously trivial.
Im playing on tweak with level scaling. Recently finished this and having control over guests is really a big difference. That version with the lower job requirements made me able to unlock calc in dorter and learn exp up. Levelled up gaff and unlocked ninja in the woods.
