My good sir, it's 2023 and You are still creating content For this Game, and i think it's a puré expresión of love For this old Game, one that it deserved. So thanks You, For doing what You do.
I absolutely love the dancer class. I know that they have atrocious stat growth, but I love the sprite, and when I discovered them as a child, they changed the whole game for me. Also love the mime class, dragoon and ninja.
This is an excellent breakdown video of all the Jobs, nice one! I really liked how you essentially listed only the absolute best abilities of each job, to save time and JP grinding! :D
@@J7Jase are you playing on an emulator on PC? Sometimes they have a way to hotkey like speed up, running the game 2x or 4x faster, which really helps with grinding ^^
Fantastic and concise sum-up of what choices to make in such a complex game. It's good to mention explicitly the "get in and get out" classes. I treat Geomancer as one such, by taking Counter Flood, which can inflict status even when it's not your turn.
1:50 I think I've gotten a Lancer maybe once in Mandalia Plains, nice of you to show that one to the world. I know it's been a while, sorry for my absence I've been binging other games, I'm coming back around to Final Fantasy again lol.
They are so good in locking things down especially early on for sure. Magic is fun to mess with since monsters have high MA so rending their MA can be great jp lol
4:35 I just get level 1 of each element then focus on Arcane Strength and Flare. I've never really needed to use passed level 1 elemental magic in my playthroughs, the only reason I get the upgrades is for the calculator/arithmetician.
I like Thunder personally since not a lot of enemies have a damage reduction vs it. And I personally love the way it looks all around too. in Chapter 2 its great with Rubber Shoes for math tricks though lol
4:50 it's funny how little I end up using ethers in my games, Chakra and Move MP up usually suffice well enough lol. By time I'm really getting ethers I've already got everything else that restores MP.
I can say my favorite jobs were archers, chemists, summoners, oracles, samurais, ninjas, and geomancers...though I tried every job and liked all of them to some degree 😁
Great video! Just wanted to add that you can use Vehemence to increase normal gun damage as well, but it's of course MUCH harder to obtain than Attack Boost since it's relegated to the Dark Knight job class.
Thank you and that is true. I noticed at least based on some of my comments that some people do not want to grind and go for Dark Knight or they just play on the PS1 version instead. I just don't like the defense penalty but I still use it from time to time.
Level 8 for most jobs I train before moving on to a different job, except the ones that are starred around 3k. I’ve never used Safeguard. Nor have I used Auto-Potion as far as I know. I don’t like wasting xp opportunities when I have Items on characters.
That helps with the JP gain on other characters in the long run so that is cool. Safeguard is niche and overlooked and its great vs Divine Knights like Meliadoul. Auto Potion is solid even though it consumes it in your inventory. But there are several ways to play the game so I say play how you like lol
I haven't played tactics yet. It seems so intimidating, but this does help. I don't like using strategy guides, but I hear there is a crazy difficulty spike out of nowhere. I guess I just don't want to get stuck and start over.
Nice and juicy, very well done! Great tips along with the overview as well. This video will definitely come in handy for references. Thanks for all your time and effort!
Monks were one of my FAVORITE job categories for sure! Definitely up there with Ninja's! I liked Calculators a lot too because you could really tear up your opponents, or at the least master all their abilities and use it as a secondary skill with one of the mages.
Ninjas and Monks are life. My only issue with Calculator is that it's their ability that is insane. Like you said put that on a mage and it's time to toast enemies lol
It can be really useful and into the mid early and late game too especially stacking it with things like Defense Boost and Arcane Defense. Solid underrated combos I feel
Playing on the phone right now. Thank you for this video! Glad to see you’re still working hard at this! 8.55k by this comment, not that numbers mean anything really.
Thanks so much g for the comment. I heard you went through quite a bit the past few months. Hope it went well and you are just doing better overall! 💯🔥
I like using an Archer equipped with a longbow and with Arts of War as a secondary in certain story fights (goddamn swordskill users). With Concentration on Support, you're able to get pretty good odds to break weapons from afar and neuter those specific characters.
10:22 Beg is a cheap skill that has a fairly high success rate in comparison to other speech skills, it's a helpful trick for power leveling early game Mediators/Orators
Its overlooked but nice tactic. I usually don't use it that ability with Orators though and just use negative status ailments, reduce enemy stats and focus lol
my favorate class is the ninja with the archer's constrate and dragoons ignore hight you don't have to worry about missing and if you use balls or suriken the catch abiltys the AI start to use because they see ninja will be ignored its not deadly OP but it's still high up there.
Black Mage also crush things without needing to spend MP by boosting Geomancy with their ridiculous MA. It's a decent secondary ability for them that I'll usually run on a character running the actual BM class vs Summoner, just because it's instant and I don't want to hit the buttons to check on turn order in some random fight when I'm grinding. Instant Exp and JP, awesome damage, and a potential status effect on top of that.
It's really overlooked. The damage is quite solid even in the early game too. The range of Geomancy is good and Counter Magic is another underrated reaction ability too that gets slept on
When I played FFT on the PS1 when I was a kid, I love the concept of the geomancer, but I hated how low their damage output was. I didn't really know how to increase it.
Thank you so much for all the comments and glad you watched it all the way through. 👍 Hope you are doing well too and always great to see and have you.
My fav class is a black mage with "Samurai Skills". You equip your mage with all +2 MAG. All "wizard" gear. Low hp but u can full screen Kikimunji from samurai draw out thing. Bam! And u can use chijaraden to have haste and regen, or kiyomori for protect shell. Lmaooooo i havent played tacrics im 15 years but i still love that class
White Mage with Time Magic as secondary is my ultimate go to supporter. All of my playthrough except a challenge playthrough always has 1. Archer is the saddest job bar none. Why give them shitty abilities?!
Great taste and choice I love FFT as well. You can't play it on PS4 but you can play it on PC through an emulator or of course download the mobile version for smart phones
I think you're way off on the bards, man. Put one in a corner, have him continually buff everyone's speed, and over the course of the battle the whole team is gonna start getting multiple turns to every enemy's turn. Especially cuz the Bard's speed buff just ups the stat directly, so it doesn't wear off and can't be dispelled.
Perhaps if you want to grind up exp and jp or use degenerator trap but even then their abilities are a 50% chance, their songs are just so slow, on top of just having bad stats. And in much harder fights like Rendezvous I'll easily take another damage dealer.
Hey Jase, if Black Mages take the gold medal for Chapter 1, what job gets the gold medal for Chapter 2? Chapter 3? and Chapter 4? Please tell me your personal opinion on the winner job of each chapter.
Man this is a tough question to answer lol. Are they mostly restricted to their own or can I mix and match abilities too? But for Chapter 2 I still say Black Mage as well in my opinion. Chapter 3 and 4 it gets a bit tricky to answer to me Sorry for not completely answering
@@mopbrothers I think if you were to mix and match everything Black Mages would honestly still be the top g in most scenarios in my opinion. Because solid MA, you can put Math Skill on them, learn Holy and put Chameleon Robes on them and they can cast for free, instantly and hurt all enemies. In Chapter 2 Summoner is very solid as well. In Chapter 3 because of the Rapha battles, I think Ninjas and Monks are quite solid and also up on the list too because they are mobile, fast and can take care of Elmdor + Assassins. In Chapter 4 if War of the Lions I'd say Dark Knight for sure their equipment and abilities are just so great and can handle the tougher multiplayer co op missions which you can't use Math Skill. But I'd still say Black Mage in the single player to me. Or a female physical attack character with Ribbon and Chantage. Long reply and wall of text though so sorry lol
@@J7Jase Thanks for the reply! Black Mages are good in chapter 2, but I honestly think Summoners start overshadowing them. By the middle of Chapter 2 you start getting enough MP to make Summoners viable. I know Black Mages have higher MA, but Summoners can hit multiple enemies and avoid allies. That’s huge. True they are slower than Black Mages, though you could just use Shiva which has shorter CT. And while Monks are versatile, I don’t think they’re as powerful. I think Summoners win as the best Chapter 2 unit. Chapter 3 and 4 are much more complicated.
I mean sure it can work. But ultimate? I don't think so. Summoner has less MA and speed while you are a Summoner. Black Mage has more MA and Speed as your base primary. So I'm not sure how that is Ultimate.
i gave rafa my excalibur because i was trying to find items faster in deep dungeon, she walks up to slap an enemy, fat 23 dmg lmao i was like damn that must be on a brave multiplier XD
It is possible through emulation on your PC. Just need to back up your PS1 disc or PSP UMD. War of the Lions PSP has inferior sound quality and slowdown and nearly all abilities so that might be a turn off. However there is a slowdown fix and multiplayer and challenging co op missions. Mobile War of the Lions doesn't offer the multiplayer though sadly and some items.
Focus and tailwind are perhaps the most broken powers in WoTL. Making a thief use focus and Ramza tailwind on them you can, if you are patient l, pull thousands of gil a steal gil. Put this on a monk with Chakra and a rez and you'll never use healing items in battle again. Put it on a dual wielding knight and walk through the enemy without fear.
Don't forget to stop by ps3 eshop to get a ton of ps1/ps2 games not available elsewhere. Games that cost hundreds to over $1000 IRL for used copies for $6-$20 each on ps3 eshop. I know its digital and physical media is best, but if there is no other option and for the sake of preserving gaming history. Xenogears, Vagrant Story, all the Suikoden, Parasite Eve 1+2, old SMT/Persona, FF1-9, Tactics, Grandia , Mega Man Legends 1+2, Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Take advantage of the ps3 eshop while it's up. I know emulation is an option, just saying in case. RIP eshops: Wii Wii U DSi 3DS
Equip heavy armor is overrated. Having clothes give other benefits will shine later. As for reviving, you need to be on the same tile for it to work. Very strong but not entirely as face roll
It was so funny when you played the first time and would start raising the faith of your magic users really high, then out of nowhere "I must follow my belief in God and travel the world" (something like that) and they LEAVE your party lol. Welp, there goes hours of grinding getting "Bill" to lvl 8 with all jobs and to lvl 60 in general. Luckily the other way around, in which you lose someone because of low bravery, was something you'd have to do intentionally as well, and I rarely would try to lower a characters brave. Their message is even funnier because they talk like they have total shell shock and need to leave the battlefield. Okay maybe that's not that funny in real life...my Dad fought in the Vietnam War, so he's told me stories of horror.
And yeah those definitely took me by surprise as well. Like a big wtf moment with brave and faith lol. And yeah but man big respect to a Vietnam War Vet!

RIP eshops:
Wii
Wii U
DSi
3DS
Thanks for the heads up good tip for people to get things before they go away 👍
Can i play this game on my ipad?
You should be able to. Check the Apple Store on your ipad
how can you master a job?
Learn all of the abilities or until you see a star and Mastered. Hope that helps
Learn equip heavy armor and put it on your monk and your set through most of the game. Monks are broken. Great damage, can heal and revive
I have max lvl ever job. If you know, you know.
?
True men make an all thief party and win by stealing hearts. 😜
lol so RNG based but a Thief SSC could be somewhat fun
Auto Potion on everyone.
I think your comment is on the wrong video the reaction abilities tier list is elsewhere
So odd seeing FFT guide videos in 2023, I guess we're all in a stir because of the news of a potential remake.
I find this comment quite rude. I've been a FFT channel long before that. I don't band wagon
