To be honest, I would rather see Mu vs Rau than Kira vs Rau. The conflict would be a lot more personal and more impactful, I assume.
Well Rau and Kira had a twisted relationship too. Rau was basically the defective freak that was made to get money to fund Kira's creation. They were both made by the same guy, making them sort of like brothers in a sense. And well they have the thematic opposition going on, as Kira is a perfect being, with jesus-level idealism, while Rau is a broken mess that is literally falling apart by the final episodes, thus his absolute cynicism and hate for humanity. And they both make an argument for and against science, as man both created it's savior and it's destroyer in a lab. So they are not a completely random pair up for the final battle.
The irony of that is that in reality ALL men are flawed, and the notion of a flawed being "creating" a "savior" is a joke. There's only ONE Savior of the human race, and He didn't come from the line of Adam, as all the rest of humanity did.
@@porkflaps4717 Yeah I can agree with that, but in the terms of this story, Rau and Kira are opposites because they were created in the same project, but one became the perfect savior (tho I ain't the fan of Jesus Yamato) and one became the absolute destroyer.
Too bad Rey must die... Would be cool to see Mwu and Rey acknowledge each other after 2nd war ended and to see Mwu forgiven Rau and Him(Rey)
@FBI Shinn was good before that Jesus fucking Yamato came out and ruined his entire character. Take away Kira's team and bam, he would be just as good as Kamile.
I wonder how seed would go if Mu was the main character and the plot culminated in one final showdown with Rau.
I don't mind if Mwu lost against Rau if this became the climax of Seed. But I do know that it'd be an epic fight (although not at the same level as Amuro vs Char in CCA).

To sacrifice your allies for a victory that they know that they were going to loose is no Victory play all is no way to win a war at all.
Not gonna lie, Mu is one of my top 5 favorite Gundam characters. He is such a lovable rouge, striking that perfect balance between being a maverick/competent soldier, while also balancing being a military office and a regular human being with empathy. It's especially hard in Seeds ultra strict military. He is that Big brother mentor figure, that all gundam characters need. Also fuck Destiny for ruining his absolutely badass and sad sacrifice.
That being said. Rau is quite honestly one of the best gundam villains ever. He is the best main villain we have gotten in the last 20 years (Durandal, RIbbons, Zehart and Mcgillis don't hold a candle to this man). He is such a magnificent bastard, with ultra great motivations and backstory, a simple yet effective plan, and Mark Oliver delivered an absolute baller performance for him.
There is ONE and ONLY one redeeming factor of Seed Destiny. The MS designs are still awesome, although even most of those don't hold a candle to Seed's MS designs, and/or they are just copy and paste upgrades of existing awesome Mobile Suits. Other than that, Destiny can get deez nuts.

Its been so long since I've seen seed I don't remember what his plan even was. I just remember the way he seemed like he knew more then you at every turn and that was great
I like Slegar Law more than Mu La Flaga.
To be honest, Mu La Flaga is the most underrated pilot in Gundam . He fought toe to toe against the Buster and all with JUST a FIGHTER PLANE. Then went on to fight Rau (Providence) with his Aile Strike. Lastly, he pilots the Akatsuki, one of the best Mobile Suit.
Best part about Seed/Seed Destiny was Mu la Flaga. The guy's personality literally carried the mess of a show that is Seed Destiny. Makes me wish he was the main protagonist of Seed. Similar to Shiro from 08th MS Team. A badass even without a Gundam, and even more badass as a Gundam pilot.
This was probably a canon story, as another game, G Generation: Generation of CE, also had this as the first stage of the Gundam SEED storyline. It was largely the same, with Mu and Rau having a stand off and Mu introducing himself similar to what was done in Never Ending Tomorrow...
I remember NOT having a fun time playing it for the first time since all you have are 5 Mobius Zeros, a bunch of Mobius, a few warships (that cant hit for shit), positioned mostly far away from each other that each group would need to fend for themselves, against about 9 Ginns. 3 warships and Rau's HM Ginn or CGue (I couldnt remember that part). Then I found out you had to play the GSD Armory One stage first so you can bring the Impulse, Luna and Rei's ZAKU Warriors, and 1 Ginn with you in that stage, making it astronomically easier to win
Also, for me, Never Ending Tomorrow wasnt a bad game... but it DID lack the oomph / replayability of Encounters in Space. i did enhjoy the game, but I can see why some people might find it boring
Oh man, I used to play Generation of CE all the time, as my first ever gundam series was SEED and I found a copy of the game not long after I bought my first PS2. Can't read Japanese at all though so I was effectively playing blind. And now I still keep the ISO to play on the emulator once in a while.
I think the first time I cleared that scenario I didn't bring any Destiny unit into the fight, resorting to letting the zeros engage the GINN while the regular Mobius units support them with their missiles.
Later on though I just strap Lacus into my own GINN and let her loose with her monstrously high rate of triggering 100% stat boost Destiny button roll. It's really hilarious when she one shots Rau with it.
Same, I was playing it blind. I had this bravado coming from the fact that I used to play Super Robot Taisen and previous G Gen games without translation. The first thing I thought was: eh, G Gen games are always easy in their first stage. What's the worst that can happen?

i did finish the stage, but I do remember pretty much limping to the finish. I was down to Mu, a Zero and maybe 2 Mobius and 1 ship by the time I finished the stage.
It was fun what you can do after that, tho. I replayed that stage, giving Mu the 105 Gunbarrel Dagger (which was honestly NOT a good idea bec the innate defense of the 105 was laminated armor, which is useless against the ballistics-only ZAFT suits) to keep the Mobius Zero theme yet has more armor and weapons
My only real complaint against the game is the lack of variety of suits you can use given that it spans 3 timelines: GS, GSD and GS Astray. Many suits, esp in the later half of GSD and most of GS Astray, are nowhere to be found. Also, the game doesnt give incentive to run the weaker units as you can just replace them with superior units
@@wildweurger Yeah, was pretty bummed that my favorite suit, Infinite Justice, isn't available. They just have Athrun ride the old Justice in the Destiny arc. And I really wish I can give the Astray girls some Murasames...
Yup... I really dont get why tho since.. they already put the Justice and the S. Freedom... couldn't they just put in the I. Justice, copy the Justice, and just add more stats.
It was fun, but the game really felt lacking... they could have done much more
But that cell shaded combat animation was gorgeous!
I actually own both never ending tomorrow and encounters in space. EIS is how I learned most of the history of the one year war. Hands down my absolute favorite gundam game. And i still play it to this day about 17 years later.
Mu La Flaga is so cool he is a Sleggar Law clone and a Quattro Bajeena clone.
Edit: and then became a Char clone thats like 3x cooler than the average gundam clone.

Game reviewers are just clowns for hire these days. User made reviews are the only one that still have some semblance of trustworthyness.

well I see that most people here would have preferred that Mu had stayed dead and I agree that it did rob from one of the best self-sacrificing scene in a gundam series if not anime...but personally I just liked him coming back and it was the only good thing that came out of Destiny. It was just nice see Murrue get back together with him.
I really like your gundam SEED lore, it's got a lot of problems but I think it's over criticized and under appreciated.

I didnt always get a chance to play these older games, so it's nice to hear the lore behind them. Like the stuff they had for Sega Consoles, my parents would never buy me one. I was able to buy my own, but that wasn't until the Dreamcast.
Maybe doing the Missing Link story at some point. Hell, you see Fred Reber in the Efreet in Unicorn.

Had fond memories of Neverending Tomorrow in spite of its shortcomings. Decent enough gameplay, okay suit variety, MSV side missions, a survival mode, and the fun fact that Rau was one of the randomly selected characters running the in-game shop. Imagine Mu going to a nearby convenience store on his downtime, probably to get a beer or whatever, and there’s Rau right there behind the counter; politely greeting him and mentioning that the store has some fresh new stock available like the two didn’t have any beef with each other.
Honestly enjoyed this over Gundam Battle Assault 3 which felt like it didn’t know whether it wanted to be a fighting game like its predecessors or some weird amalgamation of Custom Robo and Power Stone with awkward fighting mechanics.
I loved never ending tomorrow as a kid.
I have it to thank for making me a gundam fan.

Encounters in Space is great so that makes never ending tommorow....ok
Honestly the thing that drives me up a wall with NET is the 'Leaving the Combat Zone' message that pops up CONSTANTLY when your trying to chase down bosses or enemeies. Unlike in EIS You dont get penilized for leaving the combat area, instead you just hit a invisible wall, course then again EIS Maps were Friggen Huge and hardly ever hit the battlefield edges unless you were chasing something.
Also EIS has a 'Create a Pilot' complete with a Mini Story for em and that makes it 5x more awesome, player customization is a guilty pleasure for me and the fact a Gundam game has it is a special dream, Hell I wish a Gundam Game Existed that was actually Good that had a Character Customization and mobile suit customization....that wasnt either a terrible game or a terrible gatcha game :(

I remember hearing the story of how mu became the hawk of endymion when i first played his side story mission in gundam seed: never ending tomorrow back when i was 14 years old.

This game introduced me to Astray Red Frame my most favorite Gundam
The Mobius 0 was one the best designed Mobile Armors we have seen in a long time and is something that should be given more love. Oddly enough, the Mobius 0 would have no trouble fitting into the UC. What can I say, it is one of my favorite designs from Seed.

Hawk of Endymion: a title that he was never proud of. Especially when the Earth Alliance made everyone within the vicinity of the Endymion crater explode into a cloud of blood and guts
U can say that, this should be the question about the Earth Alliance loyalty when they stab there soldiers in the back when they allow to die in a suicide battle for a Victory that was Coward for wrong blow to the enemy

I enjoyed the video and it was nice mixing gameplay in. NET is a really bad EiS because of what it emphasises on in gameplay. Even with suits like launcher strike with bad melee to get the best scores you need to build melee combo. Id forgive alot of its flaws if on your initial S grinds it didnt make you lean towards one play style.

I always thought somebody higher up in the Atlantic Federation hierarchy got the heeby-jeebies at having this nest of secret Coordinators operating as their elite squadron and ordered them to be 'sacrificed' Alaska Base style. Chasing after Le Creuset would explain how Mu got out.

In my opinion Mu La Flaga & Miguel Aimen should of been the main characters. I hated the fact that Gundam (& most anime’s) had basically kids or teens as the focus. I just want a Gundam with grown adults.
Mu and Miguel are two of my favorite all time Gundam characters.
Miguel was in his late teens when he enlisted. Others like Athrun, Yzak, Dearka, Rusty, and Nicol are just there for morale, PR and avoid Fortunate Son to be played in PLANT if you know who are their parents are.
I hate the fact that characters voiced by Takanori Nishikawa (both Miguel and Heine) got their life cut short.
@@mahiru20ten could've been given to a rookie voice actor that's working his way up in the industry. Miguel would've been Mu's counterpart, as a veteran and mentor to the rookies. Plus, he would've been the one that should be hit by the sword. Remember, Miguel's status is supposed to be a hero to his homeland which makes Kira a hero killer to ZAFT. Heine's role would be the same as Miguel's and should've been in Athrun's place in the Minerva.
You know if Kira would have killed Rau when he faced his GuAIZ with the freedom he would have saved everyone a lot of problems.

Of course as anyone who actually watched Seed knows, this is 100% anime canon. Episode 6 first brought it up, and was mentioned again off and on throughout the series.
Everyone can always agree, Mu is one of the best characters in Seed. His presumed death scene in Seed has more impact to the fans than Kira's "death" in both Seed and Destiny.

what game was that footage from? i thought all the gundam games were not dubbed which si why i dont play them. i cant read suptittles at anything approaching a normal speed due to dissabilities so thats kept me away from the gundam games and other games based on anime i love cause i cant keep up with the speed so id love some gundam games that actually dub the voices
