The Riverstones are really nice, price point, craftsmanship and, attention to detail. Saw one while in Dallas over the weekend that had the rear bunkhouse and, amazing storage in the rear sliding tray as well. Looks like 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 AT4 coming soon 🤷♂️👍
A backsplash on the bar would prevent drink spills onto the heads of those sitting in the theater seats 🤣 I will agree with you about the lack of power outlets on that desk - that space was really meant for another sofa and they threw that desk in there as an afterthought. Not sure what your fascination is with coffee machine though - I'd use that kitchen counter space for a compact air fryer or grill to expand my cooking options. Grand Design Solitude 390RK - that's the one you need to be looking at if you like this kind of floorplan 👍
Tailgating is fun outside of your watching a sporting event. That said i wish my 5er had an outdoor kitchen because cooking inside is not fun on a hot day lol
I love the desk option but putting it in the living room makes it awkward for one person to work and do video conferences while the other person is in the LR watching TV. I would trade my rig in a heartbeat if I could find one with an office space that is separated from the rest of the rig. (not a toy hauler though)
Grand Design has a new model that is called the “man cave” model. It has basically a 2nd living room in the back. They took their toy hauler and removed the ramp door and made an actual room instead of a garage.
Thanks for showing the different models. Purchased a 39rkfb recently and enjoyed seeing this floor plan. I personally think there is too much space given up for kitchen, but I see how it could be right for some people. They are nice units.
That was a very nice interior. I’ve seen a similar Riverstone with that layout, but this one looked more upgraded than the other one did. The Reserve models aren’t equipped with a Washer & Dryer, or the full body paint, but they are upgrade options. The Legacy models have both standard, but the price is higher too. I agree with you on the living layout that the desk makes more sense than having two couches/love seats. We have the Riverstone Legacy 38RE which is a rear living model and we took out one of the couches to install a desk and make room for more storage.
@@massspike I was thinking that was the case. If not loaded, I’m guessing the weight is on the jack stands. I love the front kitchen design, and I would guess there is quite a bit of weight on the pin, or truck. You would need a dually 1 ton or a 450 because of the weight. Nice unit.
Far too large for my needs/requirements BUT, I love the lay out and office space. I would certainly consider this unit/brand if i was full timing and spending most of my time in rv resorts.
Really nice unit inside and out. I dont care for the front kitchen but its not bad. The decor is superb and i love the bathroom also. Glad to see a suspension equalizer from the factory and also the led orientation on the rear looks really good. Btw, did u almost fall at 12:16? If so, well played sir! If it wasnt for the noise i wouldnt have assumed lol
Another great video JD!! I have a question… I had the good fortune to see a unique RV that nobody ever talks about OR reviews… I would like to ask you if you could possibly manage to do one of your phenomenal reviews on one of the “Spacecraft“ rigs???? You would get to use one of your favorite words “Beast“… Lol! 😀 I was blown away by the one and only review that I saw done by someone who works for that company. It is a mind blowing rig for sure!! And because nobody can review quite as well as you do… I would love to see you present that to us! Thanks again for your incredible knowledge and for sharing it with all of us!!😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️
I realize the Riverstone is probably a higher end model, but Grand Design and a couple other models have this same floor plan which has more storage, a kitchen island and a larger dresser in the bedroom. I really like the lighter interiors in other rigs, although perhaps this one comes with lighter cabinets. I wouldn’t order the unit with the desk, but if I did, I’d want the desk on the other side of the LR as you need to crane your neck to see the tv where the existing couch is located. Having the couch on the other side gives you a far better viewing area to the tv. It is a nice rig, but for me, I prefer the floor plan with the living room where the kitchen is located which would also give you a dinette.
I love this entire model! Looking to go full-time with my family of five, the only thing lacking in my opinion would be some bunks. Is there a model very similar to this layout that has bunks?
Hey JD, I have another question but it isn’t about the Riverstone in above video. How thick are the outer walls in an Alliance Paradigm? We are trying to decide between a Riverstone Legacy toy hauler and an Alliance Paradigm 385FL.
@@TonyBenton0728 I’ve searched the Alliance website but cannot find this info. Since JD has profiled Alliance fifth wheels on here I thought he may remember.
I have just a few question's for you on this massive massive fifthwheel. Why is it only a double axle instead of a triple axle and why are they using 8000lbs axles and not 9000lbs axles if it's so massive massive as you put it. Wouldn't a triple axle be smarter to handle the weight more efficiently
💥💥💥 THE ACCESS PANEL IN THE OUTSIDE STORAGE BAY COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE CHEAPLY MADE. A BOARD WITH FOUR SCREWS? GOES TO SHOW WHAT A MANUFACTURER WILL DO TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS
Yes I have too much time on my hands and I also invite double checks to my math. Having had a very bad experience with a toy hauler with under rated axles, I don’t understand how these axles could possibly perform with a dynamic load of highway abuse. So…. 18,750 lbs. GVWR 2,956 lbs. cargo cap Which would logically equate to 15,794 lbs. empty With a 20% pin weight on the truck of 3,159 lbs. (empty) That equates to 12,635 lbs. on the axles with 6,317 lbs. /axle empty Riding on two 8k lb. axles 79% of axle rated load capacity empty with 20% pin weight AT max GVWR of 18,750lbs minus 20% pin weight of 3,750lbs. You have 7,500 lbs. /axle which equates to 94% of rated axle capacity. If 25% of the weight was pin weight that only reduces the empty weight per axle to… Pin weight empty 3,937 lbs. Weight/axle empty 5,906 lbs. Which is 74% of rated axle load Pin weight of 25% at 18,750 lbs. full load equals 4,687 lbs. Weight/axle fully loaded 7,031 lbs. Which is 88% of rated axle load Is my math correct, and if so does this make sense?
It does look rather silly on the face of it. However, a lot of people that buy these units live full-time in them, and don't move a whole lot. When they do, they pack the stuff on those shelves in the storage spaces until they get where they're going. It's on our departure check-list to stow all of these kinds of things in our rig.
You lost me at Samsung refrigerator, I’d like a refrigerator WITH a warranty. This “Oh no, that unit was sold to Keystone, not you. Samsung only warrants the original purchaser.” Then Keystone says “we warrant the trailer not the appliances.” AVOID SAMSUNG PRODUCTS LIKE THE PLAGUE! ⚠️ ☢️

Like the propane cans together. More functional to me. Also, big fan of anything Cooper makes.
I think a that a dishwasher would be nice instead of those 3 extra drawers next to the sink.
The advertisement board said it had a Truma water heater but that looked like a suburban to me.
How much electrical is needed to run 3 AC’s, washer/dryer. Will 50 amp work.?

One of the better center living room floorplans. The desk is pretty cool, but will the chair sit level once you pull it out and sit at the desk?

How does an RV have a flush toilet? Not that I am criticizing, that is great to be able to have one.
If it has a gross weight of 18k+ but the axles together are only rated to 16,000 lbs, how does that work?
When you are hooked up 3k+ will be on the pin so the axles will never have more than 16k load
