Good to see you brother. I love your videos. Been mia. Wife gave me divorce papers for my birthday this year. Much love and prayers for an amazing 2025. Keep em rollin
I sure miss trucking, done it for bout 35 years back in the early year. Stopped driving round 2005 and started welding for a living. Now I am retired with 6 back surgery’s and in pain all the time, not a day or night goes by I’m not hurting. Keep up the good work and be safe on the road. God Bless you.
@@Terry-u8r2n I had a lower back ablation a month ago. Essentially burning the nerve endings in my lower back. Seems to have helped with the pain. I started with left hip replacement I April 2024 and right hip replacement I July 2024. The pain is just awful. If you haven’t had an ablation you may want to check into it. Good luck and God bless
Outstanding. What a great video. I’ve been around cattle most of my life. This rig makes my 24 ft trailer seem like a toy. Unbelievable loading from one trailer to another. I’ve done it on mine from state to state. I’ve had animals shipped to the farm unloaded from a big rig to mine at a truck stop. Nothing like the experience of a ride along with you through your video. Keep up the great work you are doing. Thanks and God Bless
I'm on late shifts again this week, it's almost 1am and I've literally just sat down with some cold potatos for 'dinner' and just put on the tube to be greeted by this 👍 Excellent timing Jax! 😂
My hats off you and all the cattle haulers. I spent 15 years OTR and I’ve always been haunted by the thought of a stampede while being inside a trailer.
Jax I sure miss those days back in the 80s and early 91 from the sale barns to farms or the stock yards I loved it, it was a pretty good life made good money but ya definitely worked yer butt off. I ran mainly the Midwest some Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.
Hope you and your family had a good Christmas, The last new truck i had on demo here in the UK in 2018 was a Scania 450 i ran it for 10 days on general haulage mainly loaded at 44tons it was a full auto and had an electronic retarder fitted limited to 56 mph, when coming down long hills you set the retarder to hold your speed it worked much better than the normal exhaust brake and could slow down the truck without much brake use. I averaged 8.5 over 10 days running Wales to the Highlands in Scotland also to Cornwall on the south coast.
you haul em on the hoof i hauled them in the box (monfort meat ) out of grand island nebraska back in the 80's...i enjoy ur videos they bring back memories from the m back roads
Wow that’s a great truck wash …definitely worth every penny $$. Glad you made it safely back 😊 Thanks for taking us all along on all your adventures … Have a wonderful week ❤❤❤❤❤ And I’ll See you next year 😊
That "ol slate side" was a 45' Wilson inside slate with a center load gate . Built around early 70's as they went to a driver side door in late 70's . My st trailer wes the exact same wagon - 1977 ... Damn I'm old ...
I’m super glad that you made the comment about the Cummins requiring faster shipping. I’ve only driven my ISX and I watch videos like yours and @truckingwithschmidt and wonder how in the world you can shift so slowly and smoothly. Now I get it.
Speaking of ranch dogs, have you ever seen one load cattle? I used to load calves at a farm where the farmer had his dog herd the cattle all the way into the trailer. Ive got a few videos of it. I never left the trailer, just swung my gates and the dog did the rest. Little dog too.
LOL I sure remember those days and nights sure glad I'm home everyday no hammer down left lane cow mobiling but dowgoneit still gets the adrenaline rush watching your videos and if I want to I can still go Bull hauling but I'm going to leave it to you LOL keep it between the lines happy trails to you just saying 😊.
My 2011 ram cummins has an exhaust brake from factory, my 2007 had one and my 1999 Ford 7.3 had a warm up valve i cut the wires and hooked up to a toggle switch for a brake. All worked extremely well even loaded, all where manuals.
Just stumbled on your channel man. Good stuff. East Helena guy here. Used to haul cattle and hope to get back to it soon. KIT! And if you ever need a hand just holler 👍🏻
Hello Jax, @10:00 Have you considered a power hammer ? A Milwaukee M18 power hammer with a couple of chisel bits might make your job a whole lot quicker when it comes to chiseling out ice. 14:36 I beg to be different 😊 Schnow Like Schtuff... Lol 16:09 Nice truck by the way. Very sweet as a matter of fact. Thanks for the video buddy. Another great video and thank you much.
Steve the owner of that truck wash just put new walls inside that wash bay, its a chore owning that business but he definitely tries his best to keep it up.
Rasp bars but had to be before the rotor combine took over but have a 9510 John Deere will pick as clean as anything they make today just got to set it not just from the seat either lol
Jax, I had a 359 Pete with 400 Cat. I had a retarder and a Jake on it. Pretty heavy tractor. Worked well. Sure enjoy your videos. I remember the old town pump on the curve in town of Big Timber. You could wake the guy up at night and he would turn the pumps on for you. Quite an interesting guy. Love that Pete and the white color is sure nice.
You were asking opinions on engine breaks. Might look into a retarder I dig em. Keep the shiny side up. Love your videos. Thank you sir for taking the time to put these videos out.
Maybe you know this already, but you can have the engine “slow down” for shifting adjusted….. makes shifting the newer trucks way nicer, feels closer to the older engines
"Seat-belts Save Lives" 🤠 - Happy New Year - Looking forward to more GREAT videos from the "Big Sky Country" Are you ever gonna pull NASCAR again ? - Those videos were better than the races nowadays !!
The ISX uses turbo boost for jake braking, if you limit the exhaust flow it will slow the turbo and reduce boost pressure thus limiting the compression for engine braking.
Drove a 60 series, c7, c11, c15, acert c15, n14, big cam 400, and x15. The x was the weirdest one to drive, it liked running higher in the rpms, but that Jake could hold me back coming down parleys canyon in utah with 100,000 lbs to the point I had to give it some throttle so it didn't stop 🤣
Had an exhaust brake on the last truck I drove seemed to work great not as good as a Cummins Jake brake but did the job and had a head go bad after bout 60 65000 miles never was sure if it was from the exhaust brake or not though
An Auctioneer I worked with at Manheim Auto Auction delivered Rodeo bulls around the country until he decided to get out of the business the Bulls were rough on his equipment
I pulled into a ranch with my pickup and trailer to get some cattle. I got out had my flip flops on to get my boots on. The 80yo rancher looks me up and down with my shorts and sandals. He’s not one to beat around the bush and says “you got the right dog,you got the right pickup and trailer but you sure as fuck don’t look like any cowboy I’ve ever seen “. I grabbed my boots out of the back and put them on. I asked him if that helped and he go fuck no I can still see your legs.
Jack, tell me were you think the next big old school truck stop needs to be built in Wyoming. . with 300.parking spots an a livestock wash out with hot water.
We always called them cabbage cutters, designed to catch the air about the exhaust brakes they make more noise than whoa power when I drove for Jim Palmer in the mid 80s they had some on 3406bs not impressed. Uusually on Jake brakes if you open up the settings they will do better, ask Joe about it
I know what you mean with those other bull rack drivers. I pulled a load for a friend whose truck went down. Was going to run with the other guys that loaded but I don’t run my truck that hard. As soon as we hit good highway the pedal was to the metal. I just let them go. Good grief.
Rasp bars off a combine drum for cleats!
Correct
