❤ love watching your videos, I think you are a brilliant sewer and you encourage me to keep trying. We can always be our worse own critics. Love the blouse. X
Chrissie your blouse is just gorgeous, the colour blocking has definitely elevated the look 🥰 I feel your pain, this is how my sewing goes, you and I have the same machine and as yet I haven't tried to make button holes, but I have a note to myself on my table telling me to practice button holes because I am going to be making The Mallard Coat (The Sewing Revival) and the Patina Blouse (The Friday Pattern Company) over the next few months ( yes I'm a really slow sewer🤪) and I can't finish either without the buttons 😆 You are so right to walk away and come back to it another day. Thanks for sharing your journey ☺
Hi Chrissie, I have found you through Liz at The Baker that Sews she has given you a shout out and I'm delighted she has. I will definitely be following you, I like your upbeat attitude and will look forward to watching your sewing journey 😊 Susan ❤
I have the same problems on buttonholes, great on scrap fabric then all to pot on garments. Sometimes rebooting the machine helps - but not a lot! Great blouse though.
So pretty! Those colors are gorgeous ness! I feel your pain, my friend. I just finished a button down shirt for my hubby. It's a supposed 3 hour simplicity pattern. What a laugh. I've been working on it for about 3 weeks. From interfacing to the collar to the cuff and placket to the wavy hem and buttonholes. Yikes. So maddening. I'm finally at the final step of adding the buttons. I just got my button presser foot in the mail yesterday so I will finally be done tomorrow. I miraculously made it through the buttonholes but I had the push and pull the fabric through for one of the million or so buttonholes. So frustrating.
I mean, buttonholes are from the devil! You pour your heart into a garment and the button hole demon is sitting on his hands squealing with delight knowing he’s going to get to play with your mind 🥵👺 Aim for the joy of beating him 😄 Gorgeous pleats n the collar btw 👊
Buttonholes … the nemesis of many an unsuspecting sewer, I have doe button holes on one garment…. Let’s just say it’s a great top to wear around the house 🤪! But the blouse is awesome and can’t wait to see to see it fully finished.
I'm a bit late with this comment, but in case anyone else got curious too, I dug around and found this interview ( watch?v=z8yAcGScZ0I ) with Kaffe Fassett where he says his name rhymes with Safe Asset

🤣🤣 #wehatebuttons ❤️
I think I would put the blue buttons on the black part of the blouse and the black buttons on the patterned fabric
I’m pretty sure I now dislike all buttons 🤣
@@ChrissieMakesClothes you could put poppers on they're easier than buttons and button holes 😁
