The Brother Innovis F580 | Introduction To Machine Embroidery
I am desperate for a new sewing machine! This next sewing machine will be my forever sewing machine and I need to make sure it's the right one for me. So I am documenting the process and sharing it with you. This is the first in a little series of vlogs on different models and brands of machines. I am lucky enough in my job role as a Sewing Demonstrator @sewingmachinesuk to be able to borrow different demo machines to trial.
My first trial machine is the Brother Innovis F580 Combination Sewing and Embroidery machine. It's a amazing machine and hope you enjoy learning about it with me.
Available to purchase through -sewingmachinesuk.co.uk/collections/brother/products/innov-is-f580-sewing-quilting-and-embroidery-machine

THE best top I have ever made | I'm duping everything !!
มุมมอง 1.5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
As soon as I saw this Dakota top / blouse / shirt from Damson Madder , I was obsessed with it. However, there is no way I would spend 80 quid on it, HA! So what do we do as sewists??? We make it ourselves - woooo!! I used the Silversaga Clara Dress pattern as the base and it worked an absolute treat. Let me know if you have a go at creating this , I hope in even a tiny way it helps to inspire y...

Hey guys! In this vlog I am sharing my next exciting project which is The Springe Jumpsuit by Sew Love Patterns. I have to admit I am slightly scared of this one because a) it's a jumpsuit IYKYK and b) it's working with slippy fabric eeekkkk. But I'm going to be brave and I am collaborating on this project with Sam from @sequingirlie and she is going to hold my hand the whole way. I finally hav...

I've squeezed in a little video just for you guys , as the other project I'm working on is going to be a long one! So I saw this pattern on Instagram and feel in love with it. As usually , however, I started making it and half way through came along the dreaded M.P.D (Mid Project Dread, for those that don't know.) It's the Noelle Dress by Veronica Tucker The Label. It's a free download that req...
Can you make a dress with a bedsheet and a free pattern? | Mal Dress

I have always been a bargain hunter and a thrifty shopper. If I can make something myself and on the cheap , I will. I have made clothes from bed sheets and duvet sets since the beginning of my sewing and they are an amazing way to save money. This is my first time using a Mood Pattern. Some free sewing patterns are a little disappointing but I was pleasantly surprised with this one , however I...

Warning there is a lot going on in the video. I filmed this over a couple of months and I had a mild mental break down half way through ha ha. I had the vision of this dress as soon as I saw the fabric and the end result is so stunning and I am really pleased. If you are a part of my channel already you will notice that I have updated my channel name and branding , I love the new colours and wa...

Sooooo I was super organised at the start of this year and thought I had it all planned out. I was mega pumped to start a project and then it very quickly got out of hand. I would like to say it was something else other than avoidance , but that would be a lie. I've done a lot of other stuff , except what I was actually suppose to be doing. Oops!

This machine looks great. How long did the embroidary take?
All depends on how big the pattern is , the bigger the pattern the longer the time and if more detailed ♥️
I don't always the footpeddle. I use the peddle when I really need to control the speed. Love demonstration, so want one but will need to sell my husband 😂 x
🤣♥️
This machine is just like a combination of my Innovis F420 and NV800E! Can I suggest 505 spray and then you can lay your t shirt on top of the hoop and avoid hoop burn, very useful for stretch and velvet, I’ve also done denim jackets like this as hooping them is difficult with the thick seams you get on parts of them. Enjoy x
Thanks for the tip! I love the NV800e 😍♥️
What an amazing demonstration of a fantastic machine - well done Chrissie !!
Woooo ♥️
This is the only video of someone making this dress. I don’t understand how to make the pockets and all that 😭
It’s probably not very helpful as a tutorial 🙈🤣♥️ just me being silly 🤪
The blouse is so pretty ❣️❣️ I wish I could make that! I struggled with patterns this summer and it was the first time I’ve attempted to make two different dresses… 2 different pattern brands using the same size and one was too big and the other too small…😩😩 So hard to do this on my own…
Sewing is definitely a massive learning curve , making mistakes is all part of that - keep going and it will get better 🙌🏼♥️
Prefer it without the ribbons. The top itself is beautiful and doesn't need the extras❤
It defo looks good without too 🙌🏼♥️
Your blouse looks amazing, how about clear poppers for attaching the bows
Thank you ♥️
I think two ribbons are just right. Looks fab and I love your rambling, stream of consciousness chatter to the camera as that’s just how I work. I need to start a TH-cam channel Tube channel so I can have someone to waffle to when I sew. Love your channel! Thanks to Sam for introducing you to me via the podcast. :-)
Yeah!!! My brain likes talking out loud 🤣♥️
Love the top and looks ok with 2 ribbons 🎀
I think so too 🥰♥️
Gorgeous Chrissie. You could use poppers tot attach your ribbons. X
I did think that but they usually require hand sewing on 🤣🤣♥️
@@ChrissieMakesClothes lol
Christie, it looks lovely. I’ve never heard of Silver Saga patterns. So that was fun. My reaction to the top being reversible was despair. 😩Usually that means the top is not sized for boobs. The front isn’t the same as the back on my body.🫣 Can you really reverse it? Thanks for making me laugh.❤🧵🪡📍
I would say if you have bigger boobs you could wear the back on your front and would probably be more accommodating ♥️
You could also drop the elastic lower on the shirt and add length to to it as well.
@@leighagrant7861 very true I think you could easily adapt 🙌🏼♥️
So good. Love it 😻
Thank you!! 😊
I just love your enthusiasm so much. Great success ❤❤
Thank you so much ☺️
Really gorgeous top. 😊
Thank you! 😊
Love your new top but I actually loved your mock up as well the sleeves looked lovely. Always a cheer me up vlog as well as being inspiring x
I really liked the other sleeves too I’m thinking for the dress version 🙌🏼♥️
Brilliant! You don’t make enough vlogs!!!
Ha ha that’s very kind and I wish I had more time to do more 😝♥️
Such a fun vlog Chrissie Your top looks better than the original 😊
Thanks 🙌🏼 I’ve worn it already and it’s perfect for this weather 🌦️ ♥️
I’ve done exactly the same and put all my summer sewing plans on the back burner for next year. Autumn sewing here we come , knit dresses to wear with boot and tights, jumpers, pinafores long sleeved tops my plans are running away with me lol 😂 xx
Oooo knit dresses with boots sounds awesome 🙌🏼♥️
Omg I’ve only just found your channel I found it after listening to the pod cast you did with Sam and Jess and I’m so glad I did I was laughing out loud at some of your dancing , what a pleasure to watch someone who doesn’t take life so serious I can’t wait to watch your other vlogs. Happy sewing
Yes yes yes !!!! All of these things ♥️ thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hallo Chrissie, ganz klasse rübergebracht. Ich bin dabei auch so ein Mannequin zu machen. Leider habe ich Probleme mit dem zusammenkleben. *lach
This project is not for the faint hearted 🤣🤣 good luck ♥️

Glad you’re back. “Do a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”!
I have a lot of work years left and I want to enjoy them 🙌🏼♥️
Great to see you back & thanks for the hack idea of the Me2016, I’m definitely going to try this. I want to make a needlecord version for winter & was worried how the pivot points would go so this hack will be perfect for it 🤩
Oooo that would be lovely 😍♥️
Welcome back to the cyber sewing world.
Thank you it’s good to be back ♥️
So pleased you are back and you have your dream job as well .
It feels like a dream come true 🥰
What a great job, congratulations. I used to work in a patchwork shop and we sold sewing machines as well, that was my best job ever
It’s made me love sewing machines more than I thought I did - especially the cool old ones 🥰♥️
Good to see you back 😊
I forgot how fun it is 🤪♥️
For a person who enjoys all things sewing you got yourself a perfect job. Congratulations and I’m sure you’ll do a fabulous job.
Thank you so much! I’m ready to learn everything there is 🙌🏼♥️
Great job! I just bought and cut out the pattern for mine. Thanks for sharing!
Good luck - it’s such a helpful tool to have for garment making 🙌🏼♥️
Hope your okay Chrissie 😊 miss you loads 🙂
I’m still here !!! I promise - life is currently crazy 🥰
@@ChrissieMakesClothes that's fab! 😊 No pressure and look forward to your next vlog when life isn't so hectic, also sending you a virtual hug in case you need one 🤗😁 x
Hi Chrissie, new subscriber here. Thoroughly enjoyed your video. I am just back to sewing after a long absence and have been thinking for a while that I would like to do this. I was very hesitant before I watched your video but now I feel that I can do this so thank you so much. Take care Norma from Newcastle x
It was a little daunting but it can be done 🙌🏼 thank you for watching ❤️
The 1st few minutes made me laugh🤣🤣
Always here for the fun 🙌🏼❤️
Stunning..... would i have to line the top? ❤
It is fully lined inside the bodice ❤️
So interesting it is with feet measurements when I’m used to the metric measurements of cm. Have to look it up every time to have a chance to understand. 😊
I have no idea what 3/16 of a inch is 🤣🤣❤️
@@ChrissieMakesClothes and what happens when your length is between two different feet measurements 🤣😂🥹
Spray starch will be your friend when it comes to slippery fabrics. Starch the whole fabric after washing rather than your cut pieces as there is a chance it will shrink in one direction (personal experience). Good Luck
Oooo this sounds like a great plan - thank you 🙌🏼❤️
So fun! Good luck!
Thank you ❤️
This is great. Love seeing you guys together and hope to see many more!
It’s going to be fun for sure 🙌🏼❤️
Hi Chrissie. Wow -- jumping in with both feet on white polka dots and thin fabric! I've only sewn with rayon knits and one disastrous rayon blouse I made for a friend. I don't have a serger, so the edge finishing takes a long time on woven rayon. I love the collab and am looking forward to future episodes and how your lovely jumpsuit progresses, Antonia
Thank you so much , I am definitely a bit nervous how it’s going to come out 🥴❤️
Great vlog Chrissie. I’m a short wheel base person . Good friend is around your height , so we area bit of sight when we’re out ! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the collaboration.,I really enjoyed following the process and discussion you and Sam had. Picked up a few tips and nice to be part of conversation a bit like a fly on the wall !
I just hope the jumpsuit actually comes out ok 🤣❤️
Really looking forward to this series. Im short 5 ft half inch lol and my sister is 5ft 8 will be interesting watching the fit for both heights 😊
Exactly !!! I have a feeling it’s going to be funny 🤣❤️
Aww ☺️ It was me 🎉🎉🎉 I just knew Sam would get your vibe. ❤
Yeah !!!!! Thank you 😊❤️
I’m starting to work on bootstrap pants form. I did a toile version while I was on vacation just to get hang of sewing it. How about the name Abigail or Abby for short. I have one of those mannequins with the dials and no it wasn’t good at all. I called her Hazel. I also want to do the dress form.
It was definitely an experience 🤣 but it was worth it ❤️
I'm a bit late with this comment, but in case anyone else got curious too, I dug around and found this interview ( watch?v=z8yAcGScZ0I ) with Kaffe Fassett where he says his name rhymes with Safe Asset
Ha ha brilliant 🤩 ❤️ thank you for sharing
I was rather disappointed initially, because it was giving tent or nightgown vibes as you said. After you shortened it & added the belt, it truly improved your dress. I’d probably add shoulder straps because I recall some wardrobe malfunctions with those elasticized tops back in my younger days.🥴😂
Ha ha they are a bit risky 😂❤️
Yes I remember stepping onto a bus my foot caught on the hem and my dress pulled down flashing my boobs to the driver lol
Very pretty! I love free patterns too!
When you get a good one 👌🏼❤️
I would be careful with pockets in that dress. If you just put your hands in them it would be fine obviously but if you put something like your phone in them it would drag the dress down on that side. Usually dresses with functional pockets have waistbands that the pockets hang from. Very cute though. And I do see the chitty chitty bang bang vibes lol.
That’s a very good point with the pockets 🙌🏼❤️
I sewed this dress last month and loved it.
🙌🏼❤️
Looks good. A ruffle on the hem would balance it out.
I would add ruffles to everything 🤣❤️
It looks great! I think trying it on over your clothes made it harder to see initially 😊
Thank you ☺️ ❤️
It is very cute! I was surprised how great it looked as I had seen the pattern somewhere else & thought it was a tent but you have changed my mind. Thanks I loved your video
It took a bit of working out 🤪❤️
