I make Bic leather lighter slip cases but with a tab at the top edge sude for a brass grommet. The grommet is a screw tigether grommet. Your explanation about the griove line going around the bottom was great. My furst cases I did the same. I know mark stop points with my caliper to dtop each side groove.
Edge tips for ppl: get sand paper, minimum 600 grit and go up from there. Dont have to go too high but you can. Then hit it with some Tokonole. You can find it online, aint cheap, but it lasts a long while. Then use the burnishing tool he showed. Then finish it off with a rub down with a piece of clean canvas fabric. Thats how you get smoooooth edges.
I bought the Micro Mesh polishing discs and sticks which are on a foam substrate for the polishing steps for your edges along with the tokonole from Woodcraft.
18 wow, may you be blessed with a lifetime of happy birthdays and great knives. Details when you start selling your leather slips, I am interested. Thanks enjoy 18.
