Bob, you are one of the greatest treasures in my life. Thank you for everything you are to me, and thank you for everything you have given the leather community and world through your dedication, passion, and brilliance. A wonderful interview to listen to. Thank you Van Plew Co for capturing this legend.

Loved the entire episode, I had the rare pleasure to meet Bob, and spend a couple of days talking about everything under the sun, about tools, tool making as that is one of my passions as well, and life itself. Bob you are an absolute saint, and @AmandaHennessy I still can't thank you enough for your amazing hospitality to an absolute stranger. This Leatherworking world is wonderous gem, filled with the most amazing people that work for passion and the most purest things in life, and I feel nothing short of honored to have been able to meet these people in person.
But now..... I might have to go visit Bob in his workshop as well, as that seems to be a pretty legendary next step.
And who knows we could work together on some amazing tools, lord knows Bob will have some hidden tricks up his sleeve that I didn't even know the existence off of.
Glad to see you are doing well Brother, even though I'm pretty sure you might not read this, but Ill drop you a call again some day soon

Why, when people who need no introduction, the hosts introduces them? Why not just say their name? Yeah Bob Beard is the BOMB!!!!

Everyone needs to be treated with respect while being introduced! Not everyone knows who Bob Beard is, I think it's great!

This is such a wonderful ode to a great human being. He had just relocated to small-town South Carolina and we were seniors in high school and I became his girlfriend in 1969 until 1976 ish. I was there when he grabbed every snake he could get his hands on, climbing on rocks behind waterfalls, floating down the Edisto river, trips to the Tandy store and that first tool made from a nail. Being an artist myself moved me into the position of applying the colorful dyes to his work until he took over that when he left S.C. Can you tell by his eloquent words that he wrote poetry as well as art and some harmonica playing? Creating beautiful guitar straps and belts would get us backstage after rock concerts. His most powerful talent has always been his personal engagement and ability to communicate with humans and nature alike. I learned a lot from him and am so thankful this interview was done. Putting the photos at the end was great. He also has a wonderful son of whom he is very proud and I know he’s so proud of his dad as well. -Brynda Bechtold
