Seth - Les blessures de l'âme Review :: The Heavy Metallurgy Album Club Dissects!

Even though France was primarily known for the stripped down and caustic/underground force of bands/musicians known as The Black Legions (Les Légions Noires) during the 1990's, there was another arm of French blasphemy traveling along a parallel, though elevated course.
Formed in 1996, Seth arrived on the scene with wider ambitions than their plague infected countrymen in Vlad Tepes, Mutiilation, Belketre and the like. With 1998's debut full-length, Les blessures de l'âme, Seth may have borrowed a noticeable amount of inspiration from their counterparts in Norway (Dimmu Borgir anyone?) and focused on more composed and musically advanced songs, but their passion was evident and so was their desire to be heard by a wider audience.
This band's debut statement showed them eager to be more than another lo-fi and primitive maggot in the bloated corpse of French Black Metal and the Metallurgists gather once again to dive deep into the coven to talk about it. Join us!
