awesome video as always buddy, hope you had a nice vacation, whats the end goal with $10 challenge (not that im looking for it to end any time soon ha ha) are you looking to get certain consoles/games then end it ? or is it blow the fund on as many games/consoles you can get..........STAY SAFE BUDDY
My dad introduced me and my lil brother to video games at young ages and I’m just glad he didn’t exclude me just because I’m a girl I ended having great memories playing as a child which I hope this will do for your son
I like the way you turn your hobby and passion into a side business. Turning $150 into $800+ is cool. Finding that hidden gem in the stash is like opening a present on a birthday or Christmas!
I love how that Mom just sold all her kids games to you for like nothing....I once went to a ladies house and she was selling someones graphic novel collection, $2.00/ea, I walked away with a on of mint DC and Marvel soft and hardcovers.
Excellent video! Glad you mentioned many times that you have to ask people. To us video games are gold but to some they are useless toys. The way you communicate is very important. Thanks for showing us how it's done Rick!
Great video man! Ever since I found out about your $10 game collection series, I decided to start it back from the first episode. Finally all caught up who knew you could accumulate this much with only $10. Well done and keep up with the great content it's awesome!
In late April I set a challenge to beat the main story to all the Pokémon games, I wanted to do it in chronological order and I’m now on the 5th gen Pokémon games. So far it’s been awesome but I still got a few more games to beat.
Just found your channel, surprised to find a sub count under 100k. The quality here is outstanding! I love these $5, $10, $20 challenges for building game collections. I've been playing Jet Set Radio Future and Burnout Revenge for the OG Xbox! Also been messing around with the PS1 recently.
Dude, you guys are right!! Always ask... My experience was at a yard sale, the lady was selling a bass guitar, i asked playing around if she had any gibson les paul guitars and she went inside her house pulled out a vintage 1960s gibson amp for $10. Best score the amp itself once fixed is worth $1,000 . Sold it, after repairing it. Best advice......always ask the owners ! 🙌🏻
You're so fortunate to live where you do. I'm in Cali and there are no thrift stores in my area that aren't picked clean before I get there. My choices are PS1 games that are worth jack, OR pc games worth jack. Never found anything worth buying. And our mom and pop game store doesn't pay out like yours does. And my other option is Game Stop. So be thankful!
Thanks for the the priceless info Rick! Just picked up a similar bin for $45. 2-Xbox 360s (jasper), PS2, all cords/controllers, games and movies, everything works!
Thanks for the tip on checking in cases. I have a friendly rivalry with another local collector at thrift stores. His schedule lets him get to the stores right when they open and he’s always one step ahead. But multiple times I scored because he didn’t look in the shovelware cases! He is always like “where did you find that!?”
EnjoyIng this series! Phoenix Resale was inspired by this and making a series on getting a switch starting with 10 dollars. I’ve been playing Coffee Crisis on the switch.
I've been playing Super Mario World on Switch, a little bit of Contra on my NES, but most of my "gaming" time lately has been flipping games on eBay. I loved the SEEJAYARE reference he inspired me to start flipping yard sale games and it's turned into a GREAT way to grow my gaming collection for free.
AMAZING find Retro Rick! My jaw literally dropped when you opened the Crash GameCube game and Super Smash Bros. Melee was there instead. It doesn't happen too often but earlier this year, I found a common PS2 game and the Vandal Hearts PS1 disc was in there. It happens! :)
got a sega saturn, ps2, and a ps1 with about $500 worth of saturn games, and like 40 snes manuals with some rare ones that i’ll make about $200 on those alone. got all of that for $50, these videos got me back into game hunting and i love it, thanks again for the content
I Loved this episode I saw lots of my own games Pokémon Spyro 3 all my favorite Crash games you'll clean up good on those titles great finds and my old games is what I've been playing lately.
I picked up a modded NES classic before all the craziness started. I feel lazy not changing out carts, but man it feels nice to have the entire NES library at your fingertips with a wireless remote.
During this time I’ve been doing few pick ups mostly testing, cleaning, and flipping. However, my most anticipated game was Paper Mario for the Switch great game! Spent all day yesterday playing and being a kid again! Hah nice pick up!
I have been playing Skyrim...again lol As well as some OG xbox game demo discs, one of my favorite things as a kid was when the new Xbox magazine would come and with it a demo disc! So I am delving back into that wonderful world.
Great pick up Rick! Lots of games and consoles to add to the collection and making money too. That’s how we do this. Been playing lots of the switch as of late. Mostly the SNES games that’s part of the online but I’ve been playing D3 on switch as well.
I have been collecting retro consols, games and cards til about 5 years ago, and now im definitely getting back to it thanks to you! Great Chanel man, i love your content keep it up 💪🏻😁
My girlfriend is a big fan of the Atari 2600 and we have been playing those games like crazy lately. The Atari was a little before my time and I thought her's too, but she had one when she was a kid and she has got me hooked on playing those games now.
I've been playing lots of Hollow Knight, Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Assassin's Creed III, and Cuphead. Thanks for the tips, never thought to just ask if people have games and etc.
So weird I saw on Instagram that you were putting up this video today and I have the notifications turned on for your videos but I never got one. Anyway thank you I’ve been learning so much from you. Right now I’ve been replaying Zelda twilight princess. During the pandemic I told myself I was going to beat some Zelda games again. Ocarina of time and Majoras mask are out of the way and I am working on twilight princess right now lol. I remember you had mentioned in a past video about asking for video games while you’re at garage sales and I started doing that and for a while I kept getting nothing. But this weekend it finally paid off. Well at one garage sale the guy was like no I don’t have any but then I mentioned I was looking for older games and he was like I have a bunch of sports games for the ps2 and a bunch of Nintendo and Super Nintendo games and I was like cool I’ll take a look at them. Needless to say it was a dud. No good games and on top of that they all had water damage. So I was bummed out. Then the next garage sale I went to I asked an older lady that was having one and she was like no I don’t have any but her neighbor was standing there with her and she was like I might have some. So I asked her if she wouldn’t mind taking them out and I could make her an offer. She did and a couple had water damage. But most were good. Right off the bat she was like I don’t even know what they are but I’ll sell them for 40. As I was staring to go through them there was nothing good so I was like best I can do is 10. She was like 20 and I was like I can do 10 and that way you don’t have to worry about taking them back in. I was still going through them as she agreed to 10 and the better games were at the end and the very last game was starfox assault for the GameCube so then I started going through the cases to make sure they were there and like half didn’t have games but starfox did. She noticed that a lot didn’t have cases and was like I’m so sorry I didn’t know I haven’t ever opened them. I told her it was ok that I believed her and it’s no big deal. She ended up giving me 5 back since some were missing games. But none of this would’ve been possible without your tips
Awesome fine this week. So I have been playing back through my PS1 Long box collection. Right now I have been playing of lot of Road Rash, NBA Jam T.E and Street Fighter the Movie. Currently playing this on my PS3 since my PS1 died.
Nice finds! I have been wanting to buy a game shark for a while, but they have always been really expensive. Before quarantine hit they were around 100$. Look for those, and most cart based cheating things lice action replays, as most have gone up dramatically in value over the years.
Recently discovered the Darskiders series and have been playing through the original versions on 360/Xbox 1during this time at home, very fun Zelda clones, Darksiders 2 is definitely a must play
I love watching your videos! Your collection is growing, it feels good to see a fellow Arkansan that game hunts!!! Today I learned a game shark I own is worth a good chunk of change!!! Always good to learn some things!!
JUST got back from my local Game-X-Change and got Def Jam Fight For NY for 99 cents in their bargain bin, my local store sells all loose discs, regardless of value, for 99 cents and I'm SO happy. Just thought I'd share.
Just bought a 64 from a guy who has made a living since 2018 off selling exclusively rock band stuff. Its crazy but he is just now getting into retro stuff like the 64 and NES systems but he makes a huge living selling just the guitars drums and other instruments for the rock band series on all systems. Anyway I'm in MN but he sells like 10K units every couple of months. Blew me away. Love the channel!
@@retrorick ya I didn't either but he's apparently so busy that he had to hire 2 people to help package/ship and keep up with the online stuff. Oh the dreams ;)
17:21 yeah, if it's s'posed to be a "game" collection than maybe keep it to one variant per console. Emphasis towards console's with extras like exclusive features and backwards compatibility, imo.
TL:DR Your channel is awesome and I'm loving this series! There is a potential market through an alternate avenue you could take to increase your spending funds. Read on to see. I randomly stumbled across one of the later videos in this series as a recommended and watched a little bit of it. I instantly decided to come check out the playlist to start from the beginning and so far I'm only here. But I'll definitely be continuing the rest! I don't really comment on a ton of videos and I'm sure the giveaways are long gone haha but I just couldn't not comment any longer. You skipped over a game and inside it was the receipt from the purchase at Hasting's! My mom worked at one for 14 years so as a kid that was my store for everything gaming and movie related. The entire store franchise went bankrupt and sold off everything, similar to how Blockbuster did. So every time I see something from Hasting's I feel nostalgia and I've seen so many of those used wrappers and stickers throughout this series and it is severely making me miss that place. Anyway, depending on what it is, there may be some collectors looking to buy stuff that has the name on it if you're willing to go that route to add some extra cash to shopping funds. People in my area of Texas go crazy for anything about Hasting's because that was all we had. When our local store shut down and sold off literally everything in the store, I'm talking everything from the shelves that held the vinyl records, to the blenders used in the cafe ... I bought a couch, a table, some chairs, a rolling cart even the signage from the gaming sections and put them into my personal shop. Everyone that came in saw it and instantly knew what it was. Anyway, you could keep an eye for random items that either have the Blockbuster or Hasting's name or any other business that closed down and potentially make some extra cash. The couch that I had bought, that was in the store, that people would spend hours and hours at day after day for years, I was offered $300 for it. I only paid $50 but declined. Sentimental and nostalgia can be very dangerous and potentially exploited if you're willing to go the extra mile. Any ways, I'm loving this series and It's inspired me to start trying to hit up the goodwill's and SA's in my area to see what is out there. Thanks! I hope to see this series continue for years to come!
The pandemic actually pushed me towards retro collecting. I even have a brand new Oculus....but I've been playing Marvin Strikes Back on my Gameboy. And Luigi's Mansion on the Wii. Barely touched my current gen stuff.
Y'all remember the tv series from the 90's called ( Round The Twist). Ended up finding it on the prime video app and figured that I watch it since I love the Retro Vibes and been hooked on it and can't watch it LoL.
Retro Rick been playing a lot of crash nitro kart and got a pikmin 2 game with it as well. Been looking to get Mario kart double dash, I’ve heard it’s a really good game
I think the game I have played the most during the pandemic is Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy for the Switch. As a huge N64 fan, I never really played the original games on the PlayStation so it’s been fun to play the remastered versions on a modern console.
Thank you for posting this Would have passed up a craigslist that had the GBA Gameshark and two AR Max with two GBA SP for $40. The deal had 5 GBA pokemon games! Now to start up an ebay account and get them out of the house before my wife gets mad.
Well...I learned something new as well man! I had NO idea that a Game Boy Advance GameShark was worth that much. That's insane...but it's great news for you!
Watching a Tatted Collector vid a couple weeks back and he picked up "Among the Sleep" on PS4. I thought it looked cool so I grabbed a copy, was not disappointed. Amazing pick up this week man!
In March I decided to see how many games I could beat in a year. I’ve been all over the place of games. Mostly Mario, Zelda and lego games. I am currently playing legend of Zelda ocarina of time on the 3ds. I’m also playing lego Batman 3 on the ps3 with my girls.
During the pandemic i played Resident Evil 2 remake/remaster for PS4, Resident Evil 1 remake for PS4, Metal Gear Solid 3 for PS3 and just started Donkey Kong 64!
I found harvest moon a wonderful life for 20 bucks and since those games are somewhat uncommon, I snatched it. I’ve been loving every second of it. Also, lots of Mario odyssey
Just scored a Gamecube with no cables or controller with a copy of wind waker (disc only) and a copy of super mario sunshine with case but no manual for 15 dollars using your tip! Thanks!
played and beat about 50 games in the last 4 months lol pretty much beat my whole xbox one switch and ps4 library now its time to go back and beat some of my 300 xbox 360 games lol. also been enjoying the wii u
I have made a promise to myself to play through 1 game at a time and complete all games I own. I keep collecting but I was only playing online stuff like COD or Fortnite. I have not played Fortnite for 2 months now and I totally don’t miss it. I revisited horizon Zero Dawn and attempted to do all the side missions and collectibles etc. I scored Zelda : phantom Hourglass on DS for £2.50 from FB marketplace (about $3) and Oninusha 2 on Ps2 for 50p (about 1$). I get good little deals every so often and have a modest collection going on, just gotta keep grinding!
During the pandemic I have been playing Pokemon Go with my son. When society was shut down we would walk around town together as a family (my wife joined us on the walks) and he and I would catch pokemon. Never gave the game much thought but started to enjoy it. Was a bit too old when pokemon games were popular back in the day and always considered them for children. Now I know better. Now I play it everyday for a bit just small tasks because we are back to the regular grind of going to school and work and such and that free time is now limited so the walks are a bit shorter.
By far your best pick ups have been from local meet ups. I do none of that. Till now. Local networking is where it’s at. Been playing Nes Mario games and Mario kart on snes and n64. All with my 2 boys who love retro gaming.
To answer your question of the day. I played Bloodstained Curse of the Moon and Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 2. I love 8 bit modern games. They are both Castlevania style games. Im know playing Origama King.
You need the Space Jam Starting line up figures! Taz is one of them! I have four of them on card,I think i’m missing one,but i do have the Taz and Jordan, and the Bugs figures!
I honestly just played minecraft and among us because those were the games my friends played and I wanted to keep in touch and keep hanging out with them
Ys origins is a new game available on switch eshop. It is supposed to be an origin story for the Ys universe. Ghost of Tsushima is a new PS4 exclusive that is getting 10s in most reviews sites. Supposed to be awesome. If you like stealth games with lots of hack and slash action then play it

Im the same...in fact ive been wanting to play back through Luigis Mansion!
@@retrorick it's my first ever playthrough and I'm really enjoying it!
Y'all remember the tv series from the 90's called ( Round The Twist). Ended up finding it on the prime video app and figured that I watch it since I love the Retro Vibes and been hooked on it and can't watch it LoL.

I've been playing shovel night on the 3ds. It's a lot of 8bit fun.
Shovel night is so so good!
I have been playing animal crossing new horizons, mario party 3, zelda a link to the past, and mario kart 64.
Mario party 3 is so good!
Been playing Conkers bad fur day, Pokémon silver, Star Wars racer, and halo 1. Oh and a ton of Tony hawks pro skater 1, 2, and alittle 4.
Well...I learned something new as well man! I had NO idea that a Game Boy Advance GameShark was worth that much. That's insane...but it's great news for you!
I have been digging into the backlog of PS1,PS2 games, BG: dark alliance, Mega Man Legends just to name a few
I learn something new every video! I love your channel man!

That first sold listing for the GBA GameShark ($189) was mine!

In March I decided to see how many games I could beat in a year. I’ve been all over the place of games. Mostly Mario, Zelda and lego games. I am currently playing legend of Zelda ocarina of time on the 3ds. I’m also playing lego Batman 3 on the ps3 with my girls.
Ive never set a goal like that for myself but sounds like a ton of fun!
Picked up Spyro Collectors Edition for the Playstation the other day. Keeps me busy during COVID!

Thanks!

I have been playing the game I always go back to Final Fantasy 11. Love that game. It's never boring.
Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World has been our saving grace during this pandemic and I definitely recommend both of them.
I can't believe you found Totoro! Studio Ghibili movies are amazing. You should have just kept that one.
Kya dark lineage. I play it once a year or so for the past 15+ years. One of my all time favorites ever!
You need the Space Jam Starting line up figures! Taz is one of them! I have four of them on card,I think i’m missing one,but i do have the Taz and Jordan, and the Bugs figures!
Ive been playing Best of the Best Karate on Genesis the most. Super fun and very challenging.
I honestly just played minecraft and among us because those were the games my friends played and I wanted to keep in touch and keep hanging out with them
Great episode. I'm currently playing Mad Max on the Xbox One. I'm working on 100% the game.
I've been playing Golden Sun, Started in the first one in GBA and completed the DS version just yesterday
One of my favorite series! Good call
I’ve been playing Mario Kart Wii the most however I’m currently trying to get more games for the Wii like Donkey Kong or one of the Mario’s.
I have been playing Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary for the Xbox 360. I just beat the Champaign yesterday.
I've been playing ghost of tsushima and ys origins (:
What the heck is that?!
Ys origins is a new game available on switch eshop. It is supposed to be an origin story for the Ys universe. Ghost of Tsushima is a new PS4 exclusive that is getting 10s in most reviews sites. Supposed to be awesome. If you like stealth games with lots of hack and slash action then play it
@@mkmclm1 Nice! Thanks of the info Michael!
Hey collectors luck. How are you doing? Sub and big fan!
Hello Retro, I’ve been playing Namco museum for the ps2 and 2011 NCAA football for the Xbox 360😀🕹
