Unconventional Firewood Storage That Looks Good! Firewood Dry with Style

  • Tanja and I needed a place for convenient firewood storage and f drying. We are building a greenhouse just over the bridge, and it will have a small wood stove for those few cold winter nights. When building anything now, we try to make the structure have more than one purpose and look good. Why not make it functional and look great? I hope you enjoy watching how we built this cool firewood storage building. It will allow us to dry firewood and look good doing it.

    Awe I just love the unique design and functionality! It doesn’t take up too much space yet it’s beefy and beautiful and will hold up for years to come. I love special, unique outdoor builds like this structure because it isn’t common yet it’s a work of art. Love the bickering and arguing too, that’s real life and it goes to show how hard you two worked together to get through this awesome project

    Only thing wrong with a firewood storage place is that wasps, hornets, but not so much so for honeybees, seem to love to build their nests there. Lots of free and easily accessible building materials I guess for the paper nest makers. Lots of things that the wood surfaces may be sprayed w/ to keep them from nesting and others onto the wood to kill them.

      This little project increased the curb appeal of our property thereby increasing the value of our property. It will also keep my wife from having to go to the back of the property to get wood when she needs wood for the fireplace. I can refill it for her when needed. We are building a park for our family and friends with walking trails and more.

  • @stanwebb3480
    @stanwebb3480 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is pretty and functional but it is not big enough to hold one winter's worth of firewood!!!! Now double it and now you are talking about 24 hours for 3 to 4 months, maybe!!!! Can you add to the back side other columns of wood!!! Maybe half off in the front and half off the back so now you have double the amount!!!

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You misunderstand. We will only need about 10 nights each year to keep the inside of the greenhouse just above freezing. We don't get very cool. This is also not the only firewood storage on the property. Lots of stuff behind the scenes that the public can't see.

  • @gattonpc
    @gattonpc ปีที่แล้ว

    Gosh when i see "builders" putting the wood in the ground with nothing to protect it.. I laugh so friking hard.. YEah.. it looks Good.. and it will rot "with Style". In 5 years that shed must be build again...and that's because there is nothing suporting it above ground.. all the structural poles are in the ground.. 6-8 cinder blocks to rise it up.. and you will have that shed for over 20-30 years. Dang. It looks nice tho`.. lol.

    Never seen firewood storage??? Maybe because it's not actually firewood storage but yard decor. It looks pretty, I think that was the goal, but a 1/4 cord of wood not even sheltered from the rain isn't firewood storage... This isn't homesteading, it's well to do yuppies playing county living and running a youtube business. Genuine homesteaders don't have time for this stuff.
