I just used G2 and after watching other vids- was highly impressed with the product. Key points: I used CHLORINATED brake cleaner. The cleaner G2 supplied is Non-Chlorinated and Non-Chlorinated leave a residue. Chlorinated does not. It is completely clean. Also, like you show, I tossed the supplied acid brush and bought a hobby brush (like a Filbert brush) from Lowes. It made such a difference. It was so much different than some of the other vids I've seen. It was like painting with real, regular paint, similar to paint Bob Ross uses to paint his pictures. I almost didn't need a second coat. No bubbles, no brush strokes. Also, I did it at about 65 degress and mid-humidity. Not cold, not hot, not humid.
My reservation with using the powered wire brush to clean is that if you strip off the anodized or powder coating and don't fully cover that with the G2 Paint, rust will seed and start spreading. I just used the brake cleaner, rag, and Q-tips.
They look fantastic! I'm going to definitely give this a try using the same product. I have a 2018 Lightning Blue Metallic so I'm torn between either black or blue paint 🤔
I applied 4 coats of Yellow on the calipers because the paint was not covering. Becoming disapointed with the product. I did have plenty of paint for the project so that was not the issue. The issue was that it did not cover the calipers completely. It just kept bleeding through. Might want to use a primer first.
How long does the paint last once mixed? In other words, can I paint one caliper a day, if that's what I wanted to do, or does the paint need to be used up right away once "activated"?
@@daily_driven Thanks for the reply. 5 coats is def stretching it. Good on the spacers .. you be surprised how many I have seen out there that don’t pay attention to that!!
Great job! Did you put more than one coat on the back of the calipers that aren't seen? I'm painting mine this weekend and was wondering if I should even bother with the unseen parts.
Thanks! 🙂 I tried to get good coverage on the back as well. Probably not perfect since it’s harder to reach. But yeah up to you since people won’t really see the back.
The calipers look fantastic, but I’m afraid you got a little orange peel in your finish. 😹 Not that funny, some may not get the reference. Seriously you now have a higher caliber caliper. Why are they called calipers? I like grabbers better. Probably airplane model paint will work for the 2.3T. My Pony is silver, so I’ll just paint my calipers silver. Wait…
Q: Why would you waste your time and money with this project? A: Because you would like the world to know that you wasted your time and money on shite brake calipers 😳 Save your money and then buy some decent four piston calipers

A soft brush bristle may leave more paint down per coat. Great job!! Gonna do mine now.
Thanks! I'm planning to do this also...just waiting for some cooler weather. It's like 1,000 degrees in Texas.

That slide was funny as hell 😂 you got my like 😂
Looks good!Thanks for the video.
I bought this kit about 2 and a half years ago, I'm finally getting around to doing it tomorrow 🤣🤣in red, yours looks great by the way 👍🏽
I've had the kit for several years now too 😂😂 did yours turn out good after sitting for so long?
Hahaha I JUST finished after having the kit for 2 years
@@Soulstrings0629 it actually turned out good 🤣I was kinda hesitant to applying it being it was stored for so long, but turned really good 🤘🏾😎
@@Slikk750Blokk 🤣how'd it go?

Thanks! Ah cool that’s one of my favorite colors on the mustang. Hmm you could go either way there! Blue on blue would look pretty cool!
Definitely makes a noticeable difference doing those additional coats.

Thay look really good I doing my orange vauxhall mokka the same colour on the calipers
Thanks! Awesome! 🙂
Good job!
Looks good! How are they holding up?
Looks really nice but honestly I would have went with black calipers and orange caliper covers 😝
Hey either way ha. I’m thinking come GT calipers would look good! But just haven’t gone that route yet
@@daily_driven yes that would be cool 😁😁
Looks good 👍🏻
Thanks!!
Did you change brushes between rounds?
Great vid! One question: How many hours did it take from start to finish!
How long does the paint last once mixed? In other words, can I paint one caliper a day, if that's what I wanted to do, or does the paint need to be used up right away once "activated"?
I believe it’s only a few hours. So once you mix it /activate it you have to use it all rather quickly.
Nice job.
I never seen a brake caliper like on this Mustang's front. Are those calipers hides 2 pistons at the inenr side or one?
What metal brushes did you use with the drill to clean? Thanks
Do you think one kit would have enough for SUV calipers?
After some time now, how did it hold up?
I’m thinking of painting the calipers on my TLX. What would be the total time to finish all 4?
I'm thinking of using this lot as well. How's the paint holding up?
Thanks for watching!! Let me know if you have attempted this! 😀
I’m looking to do this! would you happen to remember how long it took in total for everything to dry before using the car?
If I remember right I think I let it cure overnight before driving it. But it was dry to the touch within a few hours after applying the last coat 👍
How many FL.oz of paint to cover 4 calipers for subaru forester?.
5 coats on 4 calipers with one can?? Also, do your wheel studs stick out past the adapter?? I hope that is the camera angle. eeek.
Yup 5 coats. They were light coats though. And no lol they do not! If they did I would have some major issues!
@@daily_driven Thanks for the reply. 5 coats is def stretching it. Good on the spacers .. you be surprised how many I have seen out there that don’t pay attention to that!!
I wanna do my calipers too but I’m so scared haha I might just take my mustang to you bro haha
Haha! Bring it on by! It’s not to bad but I was worried on coat 3 still not giving complete coverage. Thankfully it turned out ok!
You should use white or gray primer before painting this.
Not a bad idea for sure. But not needed with this kit

How's the paint holding up after this time?
Holding up really well! Definitely still recommend this stuff! 👍
@@daily_driven Good to know! Appreciate it man
You should put primer paint first
Don't the kits say they are self priming? I've seen other vids that mention that.
My mustang came with highlighter yellow calipers but I really want to buy red caliper covers from American muscle

Haha thank you!! That was good! 😅 that’s a good idea for the emblem! I might just do that!
Never understood why people want their stock 1piston calipers to stand out.
It was just a fun project to do man, not that serious lol. We then swapped some GT 4 piston calipers on the car and did the same thing with those
Q: Why would you waste your time and money with this project?
A: Because you would like the world to know that you wasted your time and money on shite brake calipers 😳
Save your money and then buy some decent four piston calipers
Why not?? I actually did buy 4 piston GT calipers later on and painted those as well. Some people might not want to do that though, hence the video.
How many *wait time* for each coat?
15 minutes
