The "Insider Secret" illuminates the dark hues of academia. Imagine how counter-intuitive is the fact that as a "student" you are expected to streamline, or rather conform your intellectual outcome to the level of comprehension of an "expert/examiner" (while the intellectual disparity being inverse of such an expectation). It is almost like passively imposing a rule of entropy (on students) while presenting ideas, and seems nothing but a dishonest appeal for conformation in lieu of scrutiny. And the question that recursively comes to my mind, as to why there is such frailty in our professors/academicians? (I dont think being scholarly has to necessarily come with such a trade-off). And as an offshoot, I think it is also reasonable to make a case, that Academia itself can be identified with an overwhelming sense of peer gratification and competition, which distorts the scholarly ecosystem and its participants, in the sense that intellectual honesty in our PhDs is hitting a new low. Especially in those who are in the middle of the hierarchy. And as a consequence, their ungratified selves are projected onto the students, as a means to vent. And we may call it ego or human prejudice, but I think we shouldn't let it float untreated or unsupervised. Being a student of technology myself, I can tell that it is really off-putting. If they (as mentors/professors/advisors) are not going to held themselves accountable in materializing the latent potential of students (as oppose to feeling inferior) then who else will be? If they are going to appeal for a strong conformity and validation bias from the students, then it is inevitable to prevent Indian scientific thought to slowly doom. Why does the window of scientific expression offered to the students being narrowed in such premiere schools? Students of bachelors and masters form the bone marrow of Research, and this practice of skewing is only downlifting. Almost like being intellectually corrupt. And I think, this is also where Indian science and technology infrastructure needs to rigoursly work upon compared to global schools. It has become careful in nurturing Industries, and consequently dogmatise our ways of thinking, ignoring the research quotient of the minds.
Respected Sir, I am SURAJIT SARKAR, 4th year B. tech in Mechanical Engineering from Kalyani Government Engineering College. It is very helpful for me. Thanks a lot sir.
Wow sir....you are also getting to know how to create videos......tharun is learning engineering from you and you are learning video creation from tharun......how I get to know by (insidal secret)
Nice video sir. I have found that making a brief presentation of whatever I am reading helps me, myself understand it. I whenever I read a paper, I summarize it in a PPT for future reference.
Sir why cant the gate exam be postponed sir??? Covid cases will be in its peak in the month of feb and moreover many students are demanding postponement of gate exam in twitter and other social media sir..some students are about to file a case against iit kgp for postponement of gate exam sir...it is unfair to conduct gate exam amidst this pandemic sir...kindly reply sir
Silly mistakes were the bane of my life when I was a student myself. I will share one trick given my dad which kind of helped me. You have to REVISE your work. But when doing so, pretend that you are not going through your own work rather the work of someone whom you want to beat ... so the more mistakes you can find the better it is for you! :)
Sir we non iitians are lucky to have found you, these are really helpful, we need your guidance sir, please do not stop making videos, thank you
