- Kunal Kushwaha talks about how he cracked GSoC in First year of college and then became a GSoC mentor. He gives tips for how to crack google summer of code, how to make a proposal, what programming languages you should learn and also an uncommon method that helped him get selected in GSoC.
Google Summer Of Code or GSoC is an open source event in which organizations take in college students who work on open source technologies under a mentor during a 2-3 month long period and it is deemed as a daunting task by many.

I really tried hard this year for gsoc, but our colleges started late and I started coding after my 12th exams, and I didn't get into gsoc. But the experience matters a lot , the contributions I made increased my knowledge drastically and now I know exactly what to focus on, so yeah even if you're not ready don't get stuck in the I'll learn and apply phase.
Hi. Please give some guidance and also tell about your mistakes.
Right now , I have completed my class 12th and I guess my college is gonna start next month(same as you , it's late)
So can you tell me which language should I learn first??

My relatives still believe that computer will make me bad😂
I really cried out for a decade for a computer since 2011(when I was in class 5) but you know the bad side of society who provokes parents in a wrong way.
2020 Feb was a great month for me someone helped my dad with good mentality to get me a laptop and yes I am learning 🙂
The mentality of our society even today my relatives and Father thinks that CS is not a degree worth enough (except my mother who supports me) so I guess we can't do anythingt instead just work hard enough and get rich and let the society be jealous
@@hammadsar746 Lol, CS is the actually one of the degrees that is worth more than most others ! xD
@@sayankundu2092 IKR but who can make these people understand.
it took me around 15 yrs to get a laptop
Computer is bad in small age , you will learn less and play games more
And parents are afraid of you getting addicted to games leaving behind your studies.
You are Literally doing good work for the community... And updating people with such good program. 👌
