  • @joeyjkim
    @joeyjkim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +58

    Nick's use of words to create a team atmosphere is very smartly curated. From his preparation phases to his races like Leadville, he never uses terms like "Me" or "I," He always uses words like "BPN Team" and "We." He knows and credits his support system very well, and it seems like people at BPN and viewers on this platform notice and respect him for it

      i don't like that he doesn't give credit to other athletes though. it's all about him and his relatively mediocre sports achievement - you'd think he'd won the events rather than coming mid to low range in the results. his cycling ability is pretty poor, his running ability is good amateur but not great. he does well and he's dedicated but he's not doing anything ground breaking or even above a local club athlete.

Remember, Garmin has an advantage of constant readings 24 hours a day. Garmin is shown in neutral studies to be over 95% accurate. Even the treadmill test can have less accurate results because of human error.

      I’m just making an assumption but I feel as if the readily available consumer devices that many of us have now a-days can be relatively accurate. I think the difference falls with in the abilities for those targeted companies and professions to be able to analyze that information and present it in a way that their clients can understand and significantly benefit from. I know it varies significantly per person, but this type of work and info is amazing to me. I’m extremely thankful for the direction this channel is going!

    Great insight as always! Threshold pace based on lactate is the best way to set your training paces and was on point, Vo2max was estimated so it’s not a precise data, you should do the test with the proper mask to know exactly your value. Regarding Training you only need threshold based on lactate but for your own flex and to see what is your maximum power/horse power should be good to do a proper vo2max test at your peak, for sure the number will be above that 59💪

    • @leslie7922
      @leslie7922 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @gallagherii
      @gallagherii 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      5K pace is way faster that tempo pace. For a trained person tempo pace would be between 10K-15K race pace. For an elite athlete, close to HM (1 hour of sustained effort).
