@@badimpulses17 no worries. I know wat you mean. Had my 1st E Scooter accident last year.
My fault speeding back and forth on my street. Suddenly got a speed wobble and flew Superman forward onto rough Tarmac surface. Wasn't wearing proper safety gear.
Gots scrapes to my right hand palm coz the gloves I wore weren't good. Scrapes to my right knee. Hip thigh and Right elbow. I was wearing long pants and a hoody.
My left wrist got badly sprained.
      No broken bones.
My helmet Thankfully saved me head.
I now wear full safety gear wen I ride. Gloves. Knee and elbow pads. Sometimes I wear motorcycle jacket or body armour jacket.

I have the NanRobot, which goes 40mph. I fell when accelerating because I took my hand off the handlebar to scratch my face. Six weeks in a cast and a metal pin in my thumb. I had learned that scooters can't really be ridden with one hand like bikes, but because I was used with decades of riding a bike, after a week of not riding the scooter my instinct kicked in and my brain thought I was on a bike. If I need one hand for something else when riding a scooter I have to lean with my abdomen on the handlebar, not accelerate or brake during that time. Getting dressed or having a shower with a cast on is not fun, nor bravery. I was only going around the corner and didn't have my helmet on. I was lucky. It still puts a smile on my face the fast scooter

Very nice scooter. But for $3000, Ill pass that up. Im satisfied what I got. Made it myself. 3 different electronic speed. 80 amp 3000w controller. 52v 20ah battery, 40 mph range, average 35 mph, 35 mph top speed. Still working on LCD display. And this got allot of torque. Even I install electric cruise control. Headlight with the horn, and Im having a blast with this scooter. Most attraction are the kids. They love my scooter. Im getting a lot of question about my scooter. Because they can't find one like the one I made in the market. Took it to the mountain, and this scooter attack about 5% grade climbing 4 mph going uphill with bearly no struggle. And put about $2000 back in my pocket. And thanks for your book Micah. That does the trick. Im gonna order a electric motor cycle book soon as I get back on the road again.

I fell off my Scooter, with a top speed of about 14MPH, when my back tire clipped an inner curb that I couldn't see because of overgrown grass. Broke my elbow and sprained my wrist. Had a huge gash on my helmet that could've been on my forehead. Took months for my elbow to be fully "normal" again.
I always wear elbow, knee and wrist pads now, even though its a paid to suit up every time I go to the store.
Definitely, wear ALL the PPE when driving one of these. Jesus, I can't even imagine falling on one of those.
    Looks fun though. Be safe.

I've been hurled over the handlebars of my little Razor scooter a few times, injuring my shoulder each time from the impact of these low-speed falls. I sure as hell wouldn't wanna hit a pothole at 50 mph on this scooter w/ wheels that are WAY too small for any road I'm not already really familiar with.

Plenty of torque to ride up 20% inclines at 30mph. Cork is a hilly city. But just because the bike can do 45mph doesn't mean that's how i ride.

I've been commuting on my uberscoot 1600w for a 16 months now and it can hit 45 MPH no problem. With the 50 Ah battery i made, it comes in at just over 100lbs as well...
Oh and it also only cost me a grand total of $800 (that includes the second hand like new price of the scooter) to get it up to speed.
upgrading my 48v's to 52v's would put me over the 50 MPH mark. I wear a full face helmet, added turn signals and mirrors as well as LED strip lights covering the back and underside so that other people see me in the dark.
Pro Tip: I also always use the seat....The seat changes the center of balance entirely and stabilizes the ride. Even at 45 mph on 11" wheels I still feel completely in control.

other thing is miniscule disk brakes are not the best idea at high speeds, but also reling on balance to slow with big brakes would be poor. this is the modern sucessor to the idea behind a motorcycle, minimum parts to make a veichle. But it needs at least moped style suspension and tyres and probably a seat to emergency brake on bigger brakes from 50

I definately use my rear brake a LOT on my 365 pro but its not got the strongest e brake ever, and for me if you're going to have teeny wheels on a relatively fast veichle then you better have both physical and E brakes (to extend range and help stop!)

Escooters are good for what they are, but IMO if you intend to go faster than 20 - 25mph, ebike is more appropriate given the bigger wheels that can better tackle abruptly steep bumps and pot holes both unforseen. Nighttime usage increases the risk and I tend to avoid ecooter use at night; ebike would be more appropriate as well.

  • @thegee-tahguy4877

As an early fast escooter driver, I'm happy to hear you give warning about high-speed escooters. I believe us escooter owners are sort of ambassadors for the introduction of EVs into the mainstream. Driving responsibly is of utmost importance at this time, because our actions ARE being judged. It only takes one moron to go head first into a pole at 50MPH to make headlines across the country. Then watch how the government over-regulates escooters til the end of time. It's also concerning how fast "pocket rocket" escooters with voltages that would light up a city have come into existence. I think eBikeSchool has a duty to teach escooterers to respect the road and others. Just sayin'

I’ll never ride a 100 lbs scooter 50 mph, not even 30 mph, let alone pay 3k for one. Ebikes are safer, no need to worry about potholes leading you to eating from a straw for the rest of your life.

  • @yvanpajevic9680
    @yvanpajevic9680 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Fell off my scooter at around 20mph. Nearly broke my elbow and had to take 3 weeks off. My arm was completely immobile and radiating pain....even my hand started swelling. With such small tires, things get sketchy over 15 mph. Sounds like nothing but trust me: if you hit the street at 15mph (or more) you can WRECK yourself. Pavement is WAY HARDER than the human body (lol). If you want a faster toy, then get a bike. The larger tires are safer.... especially at high speed.

Just because it goes 50 doesn’t mean you have to drive it that fast. Cars go over 100 and we drive at less than half of that. It’s good to have that power for an extra boost when you need it though and the durability and range will be much better with a scooter of that caliber.

  • @mkay8698

That looks like a blast. I'd never use this as a commuter vehicle though unless I could guarantee dedicated bike paths because city roads are too dangerous imo. Without better infrastructure for vehicles like this they'll remain as toys.

Apologies for being a tad dimmer than usual but aren't the headlights set at too high an angle? Seems to me they'd seriously dazzle anyone/everyone heading towards you? The "See and Be Seen" criteria makes sense, so the lights should both illuminate what's ahead (road level) and serve as an advisory of your presence. Just observin'.

Very nice! And you said, “Used”? Hey! As long as it doesn’t run on gas, doesn’t scare the birds or campers, should be good in parks too. Then again, most parks have a speed limit. Still have to suit up. (My street has speed bumps!)

If you come off on tarmac at much above 30mph and you’re not wearing protective motorcycle gloves, you could have injuries to the soft tissue in your hands that will make everyday tasks such as using a keyboard or a smartphone etc quite challenging for a long time. Know the risks, get educated, be safe.

I have a generic version of one of these fast scooters. It also does 50 MPH. I must confess, I'm a thrill seeker, and I get a rush out of riding mine at full throttle most of the time. Of course, living a a City with way too much traffic, both cars and people is not an ideal environment for such a fast scooter. But as I mentioned, I'm a thrill seeker. And you only live once. I'm sure one of these days they will scrape me off the road, oh well, you only live once, so I'm gonna make it count.
