This looks like a fun area! It’s funny doesn’t seem like long ago Luke and I were trying to convince you to try a comp and here we are running gates just for fun now. Courses looked legit man, some solid course building with good variety of obstacles. 2 tips I’d suggest is on your reverse entries you should try to swing the front end over before you stop going backwards on both gates you took two reverses where I think a sharp turn right at the end of the reverse and some servo wiggling could save you the extra reverse. Second tip is when you are backing up to reposition take full advantage of the reverse. Back up as much or even more than you need to to make sure you get the reset you need. I like that you’re setting gates hard enough to fail at that’s going to make you a better driver. Great video man!
Oh yeah I've been bitten by the bug of dodging gates. Appreciate the advice for sure. I learned at ECC to make the reverses count for sure. The swinging of the front end on the back-in approach gates is a solid tip. Thanks Logan. Class 3 with CnS Tusks may have gotten ran there as well. Video coming soon. Hopefully get to a sorrca comp soon ish!
Killer little test I have found a lot of guys who wants to get the front through and they go to come through with the back they just hammer down and go sometimes that it gets you in a pickle
Dude I tell you I've learned a lot from West Desert wheeler that dude right there is very technical and contrived very good I'm not the best and I know we're all learning you know what I mean you did a damn good job
I feel like on that one vertical when the rear tire kept hanging up on you and bumps you into the gate if you would have got kind of squared up with it and got the fronts up there just a little bit and then bump that you could have jumped up and grab that ledge and it pulled yourself through
I know it wasn't me driving and I wasn't there so I can't say that I could have got it or whatever but that number one on the second one if you would have cut into the wall to the right really hard it would have put pressure on your left rear shoving it down instead of lifting the left tire so far up in the air I feel like maybe not and maybe not that hard but just enough to kind of bind the truck
Cool crawl spot. That VRD looked great out there. It's always good to set some "winch gates" but try and drive them anyway.
I can see where "dig" would have been pretty handy in a few spots on course two. Great run
