Word of caution to all you guys, if you want to bypass the sensor, make sure its a 2 wire sensor and not a 3 wire. The 3 wire sensor has a 5 volt reference to the computer and if you try to bypass that with the wrong wire, it will fry the computer. So make sure you have identified the wiring. A lot of old school guys learned the hard way about it.

My AC compressor in my 04 dodge durango stays on all the time. Well only when i push the AC button. When i turn the AC off the compressor does shut off. But when i turn it on it doesnt cycle. Not even when its cold outside. I hooked up a gauge to the low side and instead of the needle dropping then slowly moving back up high, it stays low and moves so slow. AC in the fornt blows hot and the back blows cool but not cold. I could only find one of these switches on the high pressure side. So maybe my durango doesnt have a low switch?

How do you know the switch is actually bad before you spend 40.00 for a new one.? You didn't say anything about checking to make sure the A/C inside the car was cooling normally once you jumped the low pressure switch and got the compressor running. If the Freon(?)was low the compressor would still run when the plug was jumped but there would be no cooling. If the Freon was low the switch if checked with a ohm meter would would be open(low pressure). A good or bad low pressure switch will act the same if the Freon(?)is low. The compressor won't engage.
