This also works for the '06 model year. Only difference is that you don't have to remove anything. Thanks for the video. Half hour job saved me a lot of cash.
Well explained video my friend ❤ but I have a question. Do you think the compressor clutch from a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee v6 3.7L, will fit the 2005 Grand cherokee v6 3.7L? I have already searched Amazon and other sites, but it only shows up for the 2008 v6 3.7L model.
Great video dude. On my liberty the clutch doesn't activates/engages until I tap it soft. After a couple of minutes it stops working again, and have to tap it again pretty annoying. Do you think I need a new clutch kit like yours? Any tip will help dude. Thanks.
I would look at how much Freon is inside the AC lines. 35psi is the sweet spot. Because if there’s not enough Freon, the clutch will not engage. You can measure how much Freon is inside with a gauge from O’Reillys
What symptoms was the a/c doing when you decided to install this kit? Was in not cycling when you turned on the a/c. Why did you decide to go this route? I'm thinking about doing this repair because it was making a noise when cycling and now it won't engage the clutch.
If the AC lines don't have enough coolant in them, the clutch will not engage. My AC was straight up hot air, even though I had coolant inside. Mine had 12v of power going to the clutch but it would not pull in. Check the clutch fuse to see if it's blown. Also, the AC clutch "relay" can get stuck, I would remove it and smack it against a hard surface. The relay should be about the size of an ice cube next to the fuse.
Difficult to say, the AC line might have an air leak, but if there is a loud sound coming from the compressor or AC clutch, I would check the 3 little washers behind the AC clutch.

Glad it helped
How many spacer washers did you use I'm doing 06 jeep grand cherokee 3.7 this weekend?
Hey thanks Rick! Really guided me to fixing this part. Have AC and am very grateful!
Air conditioning is life changing!! So glad to help you out! 🥶 👍

I think you did an excellent job with your video. Thanks.
Did your clutch not have the second C clip on the electrical coil?

@@FixiT-Rick thank you so much
I just installed the part into my jeep and now when i turn it on, its a loud whining sound. Any idea on what it could be?
Maybe not enough Freon. That whining sound, that’s common for the power steering unit. I would check those two things.
Nice Work - thanks for the help❤
My 07 Laredo screams loud from this part and I’ve tried replacing the entire compressor twice and it still does it. What is the problem?

Nice video. Claw hammer made it better! 😂
What kit part number did you use? Thanks
Here is the AC Clutch Coil Kit - amzn.to/3Jt0Y5k
Thank you! I was told a clutch wasn’t available for this compressor. Glad I found your video!
