So excited to be able to bring you this video!! After sharing my fridge staples, many of you asked to see freezer (and pantry) as well!! I hope this is helpful. XO - Dani
Wow!!! Great job on this, such helpful information. I would love your opinion on the youtube chanel Pickuplimes? Thank you so much for doing this channel! Have a great day.
I've never seen a freezer like yours with pull out drawers and shelves. I've also never seen a microwave like yours, the ones I've seen are white enameled inside and very easy to clean. What brand of freezer and also on the microwave do you have, please. Love your ideas.
@@maryleelux2595 They aren't very uncommon. Go in to any home depot, lowes, best buy, etc and there are tons. Dani's looks similar to this one (in my opinion): www.bestbuy.com/site/whirlpool-25-2-cu-ft-french-door-refrigerator-with-internal-water-dispenser-stainless-steel/5789904.p?skuId=5789904
You are a genius. Your steamed veggies from another show have been my go to almost every day. I think your rice and beans are going to be another revelation. Thank you!
Would LOVE those types of videos! For those of us who are just learning what to keep in our kitchens for healthy eating, these are ESSENTIAL videos. Thanks so much. So helpful!!
Wow, you are truly gifted and organized! I did not know that you could freeze bananas. Thank you for these wonderful suggestions. I can't wait to get started. Bless you!
@@marygrott8095 absolutely! I feel other channels aren't user friendly and seem pretentious. I love this channel. Dani talks to us like we are her friends lol.
This video is going to be INVALUABLE for me! I've got it saved already so I can revisit. Please do one of these for pantry, snacks and spices!! I will watch again and again. Thank you so much!
Yes! Do it up lady, top everything, especially the spices. Spices are the crayon box of the kitchen. Just like when I was a child sometimes I take them all out and organize them in "color order" 🌈🎨
Would love to some scallop recipes as they are my favorite seafood. Also like to see some desserts and spices videos. Dani, love your videos and recipes - great healthy information! Thank you for sharing. 💟
Would also love the scallop recipes! I have a bag of frozen scallops in my freezer and would love your ideas. I am a new subscriber and have a great time going through your older and newer videos and love your overall message. I also rotate many of the same products you use. My husband and I recently had birthdays, 75 for me and 80 for him. We are generally healthy, thank God, but we are uncomfortably overweight right now due to our roller coaster dieting. The last two were keto and Mediterranean.. What we haven’t been actively doing is counting calories and macros. We need to up our protein and lower the carbs. The sourdough bread at Sprouts is wonderful but it must be eaten in moderation. So I am the cook in our home and I am committed to do what is necessary for our longevity. Dani, I am so happy to have discovered your videos full of good whole foods and healthy meal ideas. Thank you for what you share! Have a great day! Dee
I usually have a variety of frozen vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, breads/rolls, a couple of meals that I've batch cooked like lasagna or chili's, baked oats. Occasionally I'll freeze cheeses and lunch meats but only when there not going to get used. I'd love to see generally how you organise your kitchen and your pantry staples. Love watching your videos, they keep me motivated to eat healthy and be organised.
I've only just found your channel & it was the kickstart I needed to get back on my healthy eating journey so thank you! Off to organise my fridge and get prepping ☺️
I love your videos and came across some older ones that I absolutely love as well. Thank you for all the delicious recipes and ideas! You have made meal prep a joy!
My must haves in my freezer are the frozen organic three pepper mix at Whole Foods so I can cook with sliced peppers all the time. Buying peppers always ends with spoilage in my fridge. If I want some for snack dipping I just buy some slices from Whole Foods salad bar. And I also always have Trader Joe’s frozen Brussels sprouts as they are nice baby sprouts size. As well as Trader Joe’s frozen asparagus. It’s really good to take a few stalks out each week for on ham sandwiches without even needing to cook just defrost! Freezer veggies are a single person’s great friend! Opened bags get put into ziploc freezer bags and placed back in the freezer right away without me having to worry about waste
What a JOY! I also keep in the freezer separate portions of PISTACHIO GELATO: 1 Avocado, a section of cooked Tofu, 1/2 C Pistachios, @ soaked dates. 1 T Vanilla all in the blender! I use it for a breakfast after letting it defrost overnight in the fridge. Sharing!
Thanks for this video. I got some new ideas for healthy, delicious eating. I always have your egg sammies or muffin cups and protein balls in my freezer. I never thought about frozen rice, but that would be a time saver and I'm going to try it. Also, the fridge video was eye opening. Ever since watching that I wash and cut up veggies every week and put them in a glass bowl that is lined with a paper towel. I would have never thought about adding the paper towel, but it absorbs so much moisture and the veggies have been staying fresh and not slimy all week long. I would love to see a snack and pantry video. Always love your ideas because you keep it doable for those of us who aren't gourmet chefs and who are pressed for time.
I always have vegetable scraps (carrot tops, celery, extra greens, whatever) for broth and bones for bone broth. We like sausage to put in lentil soup, or with cabbage and onions, or just cook up to eat.
Your videos are always such an incredible resource yet still extremely practical. I appreciate all the hard work on this video including sharing some recipes too!!
I bought a small upright extra freezer when was on sale….and it has paid for itself many times….for additional quick meals for 2. I make lots of homemade veggie spaghetti sauce and freeze portions, etc. Thks Dani for your great instant meal and smoothie ideas. Ahna
Thanks so much for this video. Definitely would love to see the scallop video as well as the pantry, snack and spices videos as well as all the videos you make. You always give me great easy healthy delicious ideas to try
Frozen riced cauliflower is a must have for using as is - quickly dehydrated and used in place of bread crumbs and even flour, Peas definitely won't last long with kids and grandkids - they love creating their own smoothies, Mushrooms are not only super nutritious - they fill that missing spot in most soups, coctail onions are super cute and clever way to get that "sweetness" fulfillmentin a child pallet without the freakout, mostly berries with an occasional melon cubed or even pineapple, the truth with the fruits and veggies that we freeze? After a while- we dehydrate them and store them on a pantry shelf for much later on down the road - clever hack for also pressure canning nutritious soups!! Greek yogurts for sure & we even shred our own favorite cheeses for the freezer. I loved your ideas on the tortilla and the flatbread!! I need a hidden freezer in my room. Lol.
Thank you for sharing! I just recently discovered frozen avocado chunks at the grocery store and now they’ve officially become my freezer staple as well! I also keep bananas, frozen fruit, cauli rice, broccoli, boo boo packs (nice to know I’m not alone in this), and meat in mine. The rest is a bit junkier stuff for my husband and son.
I cant live without my big upright freezer! Beside most of what you mentioned here, (and I have that stuff in bigger quantities) I also freeze homemade sauces, such us pesto sauce, pizza sauce.. Homemade pie/quiche crusts, a variety of homemade breads and sweet or savory pastries.. I like to cook big batches of food and freeze for the busy days or even lazy days 😉. It gives me peace of mind, a comfortable feeling of I am ready and covered, food wise, no matter what..
I always have English muffins on hand, I definitely done the quick pizza idea or just a little butter, shredded cheese of choice (cheddar works good for this but I use lactose free marble) with salt and pepper, let it get melty and serve it up with some tomato soup. It's like an open faced grilled cheese.
Thank you, great video 😊 I also freeze my bananas but I dont have the space to do it your way. I put then in a large bag and just make sure they lay flat with space between them. If you want a creamy smoothie you can also use large white beans, I freeze them the same way.
Yes to scallops! Have some in my freezer. Great video. Your pumpkin oatmeal breakfast muffins are a favorite breakfast item here. I always make a double batch! Love your videos. They inspire me to eat healthier
Carrot onion celery par boiled potatoes chicken. Thighs so i can put together chicken potato soup, frozen bell peppers chillies brown rice and quinoa garbanzo beans/chickpeas black beans cannillini beans spinach and different types of cabbage I buy everything fresh, and blanch the veg but fully cook the rice and beans in a stove top pressure cooker. Pitta bread tortillas 😊🌟
Loved this~thanks so much! Going to share w/some friends as this one of the most helpful ones for me. Going to check out the fridge video. Love the new recipe for the pb, oatmeal cranberry bars! Yummy success!
Never thought about frozen peas as a snack cool idea. My son when he was younger uaed to want frozen french fries( not so healthy). I also keep my nuts in the freezer so they dont go rancid.
also frozen fruit is picked at its peak of the season so you have usually weigh more nutrients in it than you do having fresh fruit say in the winter time as here in Canada fresh fruit travels thousands of milesand is usually artificially ripened on route. So fresh fruit is usually more expensive and frozen fruit is consistently the same price throughout the year usually
