It really is amazing how much one can save shopping at thrift stores when you take the time to look at everything. Recycling clothes is also a huge win by buying thrift. You go Momma J.
Loved this thrift store haul.. I thrift weekly finding deals for my own home and my daughters home .. thrifting is rewarding and financially makes sense in many ways. I love you shared this .. all of my clothing comes from thrift stores and a lot of my home decor. thrifting is a weekly adventure setting a budget and finding treasures without going over budget . ❤
It makes so much sense to buy as much clothing as possible in thrift stores, especially with a large family. It's just my husband & me at home now and I love shopping at thrift stores. Sometimes I've found items that still had the original store tags on them and were never even worn! Love your videos!
Thrifting and garage sales are the way to go. The boys jeans look like new and probably are. My children always had really nice clothes. My baby is now 18 and I look for clothes now for the grandchildren. I have 9 children and they are still so very close, best friends. I can see how close your children are and they will be as well when they grow up. I think it is great to share all ways of saving money. SO many have no idea how to save. Each area has different deals. Our Goodwill is expensive but we have other thriftstores that are way better. So yes, share your thriftstore finds.
I am 76 yes old and have shopped at the thrift stores for years. I am as well dressed as everyone else. I buy decor for my home. My home is lovely. Love your channel and your well behaved children.
I've been shopping at the thrift store since I was 19. I am 57, when I became a widow at 39 with three small toddlers I shopped nowhere but the thrift store which saved me literally.
I shop at thrift stores all the time! Everything I wear is thrifted!! I am 77 years old and I dress very nicely!!! I love thrifting!! I was in Salvation Army today and it was so busy! So many people!! I also shop for my brother and find him shorts, flannel shirts, sweatpants and vests!! Hugs!! 🤗❤️🥰
I wear a lot of clothing from thrift stores. Much of it brand new, original tags still attached. One of my favorite jackets was a rather expensive brand, new with original tags, and I paid $3.50 on half price day. Most of the dresses I wear to church - yes, from thrift stores. Thrift shopping isn't just good for the budget; it is also a win for the environment and organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.
I was in Goodwill recently with a family friend. A lady was in line to check out. She had a KitchenAid mixer with several extras. My friend said she saw the sticker price was $19.99. What a deal!
Great deal on jeans. Jeans can be so pricey. I love to thrift my clothes. I find a lot nicer things sometimes, better then the main store!🥰Thank you for sharing Janice.
I have photos of the last thrifting day my mother and I took before she passed away April 2019. My car was loaded from the multi store all-day trip. I'd love to thrift again with her!
I love finding good clothing deals at the thrift shop. I have drawers full of (discount) clothes, so I am trying to NOT indulge for a few years while I gradually wear out what I already have. You are tempting me!!
At my church library there are books by author Gilbert Morris. I have not read the book you purchased at Goodwill but I have read several books by Gilbert Morris that I enjoyed.
Way to GO !! I personally hardly EVER . Shop for new clothes except undies … I would say that 99 percent of my clothes are thrifted … Thanks 🙏 for sharing !!!
When my son was young, 95% of his clothing came from garage sales or hand me downs from his cousin. It was more important to us to save for his college education. I’m proud to say that he paid half with an excellent scholarship he got for good grades and a high ACT and we were able to pay the other half. He is now a young engineer with no college debt.
Same with my youngest, who is now a worship pastor working on his masters.... And he still goes directly to th clearance rack in every store he enters 😁 Yes, I'm a proud mom!
Thank you for the video! It does make sense what you say Janice, dial back from paying full price for groceries and clothing allows you to work on other things, I think also is the fact that you all are willing to save up and "wait" for things like the summer kitchen etc... is a good teaching tool. This is a fast paced world and people don't like to wait and want it now, that's when they go in debt by borrowing. Your family (kids) are learning not only good practices with finance but also patience and not having to have something right now.. I enjoy your videos, they are a reminder that patience is a virtue and we as a society need to get back to that!!!
I miss getting into town to visit the charity shops (Goodwill). I live near a university and when the students were going home at the end of the year after graduation, they would often take their excess attire to the charity shops and you could find some beautiful ball gowns, evening dresses, suits and tuxedos plus other clothing at fairly reasonable prices. There were also a lot of designer labels to be found too but names and brands don't mean anything to me. As long as the item was suitable for me and fitted within my budget, I was happy. Glad you found some great bargains Janice and I hope Sarah got on ok at the orthodontist. Stay blessed ❤️🕯️🙏🤗🏴
♥️♥️Janice, hi I’m kiki , a Cajun lil old lady from Louisiana . Ive lived frugally due to low pay when hubby in Navy. . Three children later. We still had to lived frugally .now fast forward 9 grandkids , hubby and I retired . We’re living comfortably and yet, I’m still shopping frugal- hitting church thrift stores, clearance sales, !!! Guess bold habits are hard to break but Im loving in saving money!!!! ♥️♥️
I do love thrifting but sometimes it’s more expensive than buying new. I buy most of my kid’s clothes on clearance for the next season. $1 for new shorts and shirts just can’t be beat. It’s also how I afford to donate which is something we are passionate about.
You are using the tightwad gazette form of shoes and clothing. It's a must when you have several children and different sizes. I raised my 4 on a mixture of bargain priced new clothes and garage sale clothing. It's another area that you can control when you have options.
I love going to good will, that’s where I buy a lot of my shirts and pants, but I don’t buy use shoes, I have feet problem and will buy new shoes because my feet are sensitive and need to protect them, and like you I won’t buy use underwear but will go ahead buy use socks are when I good condition.
I love going thrifting. I find amazing second hand stuff all the time...sometimes in like new quality. So take us with you when you go again. I'm here for it!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
Goodwill , yard sales , garage sales is how I got clothing growing up and I also did that for my kids while they were growing up . Nothing wrong with it !! I still refuse to pay full price for pretty much everything!!!! I just can’t ! LOL ! Great finds . God bless !
I wear nothing but thrift store clothes. You can find some good stuff . But yes everything but under garments. You can find purses as well. Nothing like a good thift store find!!!
I applaud you Janice for your thriftiness and organization in this day and culture of 'throw away' mindset - I too, was raised to be thrifty and ''waste not want not' was something my parents always stressed.
Hi Janice I never missed a show and have never commented. I was a single mom I was never ashamed to dress my kids from from the thrift store. That savings provided me in giving my kids a college education. No shame here. Love from southern Ontario Canada
I agree. I’ve bought TV stand, sheets etc there. Very much appreciate the people whom donate. I’m ready to drop off a box of things! Have a great day. Can’t wait till next box opening.☀️☀️☀️☀️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Most of my clothes come from thrift stores, or eBay if I’m looking for something specific. I had an advertisement on this video that was an hour and 49 minutes long on how to set up a drop shipping business - I confess, I didn’t watch most of it, but I’ve no doubt that it made it’s creators very wealthy because who can afford to put advertisements on for that amount of time?!
Enjoyed this video! I grew up on used clothing and shoes as well as clothes my Grandma made us. When I started to school we got a new set of clothes from either Wards or Sears catalog. I may have gotten 2 dresses can’t rem exactly. For the last part of my 3rd grade I went to PA to live with Grandma because our family was planning to move there. I went to a little country school that only had 6 grades. My teacher approached me on the playground one day and told me how pretty my dresses were. She asked where my parents found such beautiful dresses and with no hesitation or embarrassment I replied, “at the rummage sales”. I did not know according to many I should have been embarrassed. This was a sweet and special teacher and I know she was not trying to put me down. I never forgot her. We did not move to PA so I came back with my parents and began 4th grade through Graduation in a county school. I am now 72 and have used clothes in my closet right now. If I knew what size you wore I would send to you. I’ve lost quite a bit of weight so my clothes are likely too large for you. Also I mostly wear skirts and tops. I have never owned a pair of jeans in my life and don’t own any pants either. My sis, Donna, grew up the same as I did. She has lost about 50 lbs and only wears pants so she has tops galore that she can no longer wear. Just sharing this personal info to let you know there are plenty of us who are thankful to find used clothing etc. I read a quote today that said “Remember, what you are complaining about today someone else is praying for”. One more thing…the book about LookOut Mountain…I live less than 2 hours away from LookOut Mountain. It is near the Great Smokey Mountains so I feel sure it is our kind of book. It looks to be Historical Fiction which is my favorite. Thanks for this video. Love you all! ❤️🙏🏻 it is 22 degrees here and about 5-6” snow. Yuck!!!
You might know this but sometimes thrifted clothes can have bed bugs. We thrift and I always run them through the dryer on high for 30 mins. (I'm paranoid!)
I lost over 56 lbs. I went thru all my bigger clothes and gave to Goodwill.Made me feel so good. And yes I got smaller clothes used. Sure saved a lot of money.
Janice, I have always shopped in thrift stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army, garage sales for clothing. I’m retired now, but I worked in an office back when we had to dress up and I found designer clothing at a price I could afford. Plus, the hunt was part of the fun. And I found some amazing things.
Janice. It is a great way to get those clothes. My son wears overhauls on the farm. I bought him a brand new pair and he was working on fencing and tore them. However it is an easy fix. I wish the goodwills had more overalls. I LOVE Goodwill stores.
My oldest daughter and I love to thrift shop. We love getting new ideas from your channel. We have begun freezing a bunch of things to preserve on top of the canning we already do. Thank you for your channel and all your ideas. Also, your ungifting videos gave us ideas to gift to others this year.
There are 2 goodwills that I have been to that are about an hour from me (closest). One in SC has senior discount on Thursdays and the one in NC has no discounts! Apparently every Goodwill is different. I'm 64 and love to shop discounts and my 16 yr old daughter loves old and different looking clothes at thrift stores!
Sweet Janice I have said this before but my dad born 1911 and had me at 57 was a farmer/public worker. And when going to town he'd always say to mama "Alright Ruth I guess we're gonna need to make a trip to town!" I'll go wash the earth off my body and you get out my "Sunday go to meetin rags". I miss them both so much!!
I’m so pleased you bought full price at Goodwill after all it’s a service to the environment by recycling. Not everything can be gifted to your family.
I do shopping at thrift stores. We have one used clothing store where everything is free.cant beat that. Our Salvation Army Store has colored tags too but I haven't figured out if certain colors are on certain days or if it's random. I look at shopping at the thrift store as recycling. ❤😊😅
We had clothes for years that we called "Goat feeding clothes" that were basically farm clothes. We have bought 99% of our clothes and books at thrift stores. My kids are adults now and my daughter said that I ruined her because now she just can't pay prices for new clothes now!
We have a little charity shop a religious charity shop, and they sell all of their clothes for a dollar apiece no matter what it is unless it’s a coat coats they give away also gloves and scarves. And that’s how we make ends meet.
We have a good will 45 minutes from me when i can i go and pickup clothing and other items. Janice we have other stores also that if i can i stop in. I find thay always have great deals.
That is so beautiful you're such a wonderful good-hearted woman and you have a beautiful family God bless you and your family and I love the way you're so organized fiorella from Canada❤🇨🇦
I love going to thrift shops, rummage sales. I went to a good will when I was at my son's in fayetteville, arkansas and found great bargains. I wish we had one where I live in monticello, arkansas. Too small of a town I guess. I am a bargain hunter. I always look for sales at the grocery store.
My family has been less well-off and more well-off through the years and I still buy most of my purchases at the thrift store…it just makes good sense! Let other people enjoy the items when they are brand new…it doesn’t matter to me and I’ll happily wear and use their donated items and the purchase price helps the various charities.
Technically my family could afford new clothing all of the time but then we wouldn't be able to reach other financial goals that we have made. I can't imagine buying new all the time even if we didn't have financial goals.
Thanks for sharing your index card system inventory for shoes. Good deals at your Goodwill. The Goodwill in a nearby town never has 75 percent off that I have seen. They do the color change every week for 50 percent off. My best score at Goodwill was a chair purchased 2 years ago that is still in my living room, bought for $15.
90% of my clothes, shoes, hats etc (not under clothes) are from the thrift store - there's always a treasure waiting! Let others pay full price and donate them when they're done with them 😂
Thank you sweetie 😘 sweet angle .Great tips bargains🎉great 👍 👌 tips 👌. Great haul .my best sweet frugal family 👪 ❤ .bless u all with joy peace and happiness always keep safe take care❤❤❤❤❤
That was a nice deal you found at Goodwill. I love books too. The books sound interesting, I used to live near Lookout Mountain in Tennessee where I was born, until we moved away. What do you use to clean the inside of the shoes just in case they have something like a fungus or etc.? I know most Tennis shoes can go in the washing machine but what about the boots.
You are correct Janis. Very smart choices. It helps to have more money for other things. I've learned so much from you. I respect you and your family so much. We all can learn so much from you. I Ty for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. It made a lot of sense.
I love thrifting my clothes. I have a very old fashioned taste in clothing and thrifting is how I find what I like.🙏❣
It really is amazing how much one can save shopping at thrift stores when you take the time to look at everything. Recycling clothes is also a huge win by buying thrift. You go Momma J.

I'm shocked sometimes at what I can find in a thrift store. It's amazing some of the things that get donated. But I'm very thankful that they do.
You and me both, Barbara! :)
It makes so much sense to buy as much clothing as possible in thrift stores, especially with a large family. It's just my husband & me at home now and I love shopping at thrift stores. I love collecting rabbit couples and fabric clothed porcelain angels. The lace is antique.
I've been shopping at the thrift store since I was 19.
I am 57, when I became a widow at 39 with three small toddlers I shopped nowhere but the thrift store which saved me literally.
Yes, I'm so very thankful to have those savings available to me! I'm glad they were a blessing to you as well during your time of need.
Hugs!! 🤗❤️🥰
There is no shame in shopping in thrift stores. Look what you have from the savings. I am in awe of the organization you have in place.😊
Yep- Janice makes everything look easy. She is very organized and knows what she is looking for. Her vids are educational.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. That’s what my Mum would say when we shopped at Goodwill ❤️
I wear a lot of clothing from thrift stores. Much of it brand new, original tags still attached. Janice, you are so organized. I can't wrap my brain around all the thought you put into everything every day. Great Mama!
Our goodwill has inflated prices so much its so crazy. Glad your goodwill is still selling prices at good prices
GW in NW Indiana is so high on prices. Shirts are 8.99
Great deal on jeans. Jeans can be so pricey. I love to thrift my clothes. I find a lot nicer things sometimes, better then the main store!🥰Thank you for sharing Janice.
Mi had two boys. They were so hard on their cloths. We had a tight budget and I loved thrifting for them! Great work on the price!!
I have photos of the last thrifting day my mother and I took before she passed away April 2019. My car was loaded from the multi store all-day trip. I'd love to thrift again with her!

I go to garage sales or church sales stead of goodwill stores. Prices are better and the things are usually in better shape.
I love the thrift stores and go every week. My mom and I did this our whole life. Great memories for me.
I love thrifting!! You found some great deals. TFS ❤️
I love when the thrift stores have sales!

Hi Janice & family, you did awesome at the thrift store. You are a smart shopper Janice! Have a great week.❤️
More Goodwill videos PLEASE!!! and THANK YOU!!
Good Will is high where we live.
Janice I enjoy all your video’s I’ve been here from the beginning and I tell people that I follow your family. God bless y’all and keep y’all.
Anna has great taste in footwear...I love that style of boot!
I use to love thrifting, it's all about saving money 🤑
I have slways shopped thrift stores or garage sales. Unfortunately i think the Goodwill has gotten very expensive for donated goods.
Our goodwill support programs for disabled and homeless people. I still shop the discounted tags too!
Same for us in Florida. I shop our church thrift store which supports local ministries. Keeping it local.
We have a thrift store, here, that sell all paperback books for 5 cents & Bibles are free. Thrifting is fun!
My kids are grown now and I still buy all my clothes at thrift stores except undergarments.. I refuse to pay the price they want in the stores..
I agree. I’ve bought TV stand, sheets etc there. Very much appreciate the people whom donate. I’m ready to drop off a box of things! Have a great day. Can’t wait till next box opening.☀️☀️☀️☀️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great deals!!! We need you over the national budget.
Most of my clothes come from thrift stores, or eBay if I’m looking for something specific.

Buying used clothes is very cool in my book all the treasures you find I love Goodwill have a good day!

My 16 year old granddaughter loves shopping thrift stores
I buy alot thrift clothing. Glad you do the same.

I've never seen a sale at Goodwill. They are outrageous
We had clothes for years that we called "Goat feeding clothes" that were basically farm clothes. We have bought 99% of our clothes and books at thrift stores. My kids are adults now and my daughter said that I ruined her because now she just can't pay prices for new clothes now!
A fun video, second hand clothing is ok with me. You can find some nice things in a thrift store. ❤
I love going to thrift store. I go to a thrift store the clothes are two bucks. I have lots of fun.
Love shopping at ours! Curiously I enjoy hand mending and don’t mind at all if i can improve a garment with my sewing basket somehow.
The Cay is one of my favorite books!! Great choice!!
We have a little charity shop a religious charity shop, and they sell all of their clothes for a dollar apiece no matter what it is unless it’s a coat coats they give away also gloves and scarves. And that’s how we make ends meet.
Those for showing the system! That was helpful!
Can you show your clothing inventory system? Or how you switch over clothes for the season?
We have a good will 45 minutes from me when i can i go and pickup clothing and other items. Janice we have other stores also that if i can i stop in. I find thay always have great deals.
That is so beautiful you're such a wonderful good-hearted woman and you have a beautiful family God bless you and your family and I love the way you're so organized fiorella from Canada❤🇨🇦
You can save so much by thrifting and get so much too. Have you been a good will bins?
Yesss I love thrifting
It made sense.
Yes! I love thrift stores.... Awesome video
Buying from Good Will is the way to go
Good for you
Thanks for sharing your index card system inventory for shoes. Good deals at your Goodwill. The Goodwill in a nearby town never has 75 percent off that I have seen. They do the color change every week for 50 percent off. My best score at Goodwill was a chair purchased 2 years ago that is still in my living room, bought for $15.
I love thrift store shopping. I got a Coach purse recently with tags still on for $7
I have home work clothes and then good clothes. It is very different for people that live in town.
I loved your goodwill video! Actually I love them all! I watch regularly! I would love to see a video on some of your organizational ideas.
I love second hand stores. Please do a video on shopping day.
Love your boots and sneakers, Anna! Every girl needs some cute boots!❤
I love your thrifting videos.
You never know what treasures you will find.
Goodwill is great and this video is very helpful!!
90% of my clothes, shoes, hats etc (not under clothes) are from the thrift store - there's always a treasure waiting! Let others pay full price and donate them when they're done with them 😂
Wish the charity shops were cheap like that over here in the UK. They used to be but the prices have increased terribly in recent years.
Thank you sweetie 😘 sweet angle .Great tips bargains🎉great 👍 👌 tips 👌. Great haul .my best sweet frugal family 👪 ❤ .bless u all with joy peace and happiness always keep safe take care❤❤❤❤❤
I buy almost all my clothes at goodwill and yard sales
Love this Janice! What fun!
Good job mom.
