    Probably a good idea if you have a camping site or a lodge somewhere in Wakanda or Kapedo and dont mind dropping 100K setup cost and charging customers more per night just coz you have FREE WIFI on your package.

    playing online games depends on ping and jitter which is quite high as they have said so it wont be a pleasant experience untill they improve on this..dont buy this if u are a streamer or a online gamer🤝

    you haven't mentioned one thing when it's windy or it's raining the internet speed will be so poor that you can't watch 144p videos I am using wired internet and its 89mbps and I pay 800ksh my upload speed is more than 20mbps I can upload 20GB for just 6 to 8hrs but Starlink will take 3 to 4days

    Correction 200MBPS is good for game downloads where modern games are like 50 GB plus, but actually playing online games relies on LATENCY (how long does information take to get to the service and back to you) REALTIME COMMUNICATION DEPENDS ON THIS AS WELL ,SO if star link latency is just too high then it's not a good pick for online gamers like myself

      True. Most testers have reported pings of around 50ms, which is not too bad for gaming, though not perfect.

    Is starlnk preferable when it comes to Internet service providers.... Like can it be advisable to be used to provide WiFi to tenants... What's your take on that?

      Check on terms of service since that would mean you will push more traffic

      Their terms of service dont allow reselling your connection, but I doubt you can be blocked from sharing your wifi password for example, only that speeds will reduce the more people use it.

    I saw a mzungu techie youtuber from central kenya review it. it wasnt all that. unless you live in a very remote part of the country, stick to 5g. its faster, more reliable and cheaper. but if you are stationed in mandera, its alright

      That is a great idea, but first you have to make sure that, they have built a bas station near you rural area. What I mean is that, it's not like you're directly getting a one to one connection with the satellite. By my knowledge they have to have built a ground base station to receive the data and send that same data to the base station so that it can read your data and resend it back to you. So you have to do some research before purchasing it.

    I was happy for this but now NOT happy after going through the comments, excellent download speeds yes, mobility is a PLUS but PING is equally important for me since I do online gaming. Would still be great for my home in shags though. Another Point I was wondering was can we resell the Internet??

      Their TOS doesn't allow reselling, not unless you just share your internet somehow. Otherwise reported pings range from 20 to 100ms... Not too bad.

      Pardon the late reply. In other markets they impose a speed throttle down (not a data amount cap) when the network is congested, not yet heard about that in Kenya.

      Yeah the initial cost is quite high. But once you buy it you dont have to pay anyone to set it up for you.

    Beside the symmetrical download and upload speeds, You haven't mentioned the 'latency'. Very important.

    You missed out the ground station in your drawing. Starlink does need a ground station to operate, but the signal can bounce around between satellites before it has to pass through a ground station. Currently only 2 in Africa in Nigeria.

    In Sudan, our internet is severely restricted. The government controls the internet. We are now ordering via SPEAEX internet.
