Do you spar? Do you test the skills against someone who not chi sao'ing and who's keeping their distance when you are trying to get on the inside? I believe wing chun is very effective but like anything you have to spar.

The Ving Tsun System, as handed down in the Yip Man, Moy Yat and Moy Tung lineages includes the system of Chi Sao (Sticking Hands) two-person exercises. After 6-12 mo of training, this exercise includes pushing horse (Toi Ma) and full contact application of techniques to the chest, which is safe and great mind-body conditioning, in addition to training distance, timing and how to hit with with force and power, while controlling and trapping hands. Higher levels include other energies and techniques, as well as Mai Sang Jong, in which participants start at distance and immediately close.

@@trondyne3513 There are 3 generations, close to 30 schools teaching under Grandmaster Moy Tung. Some new students have no previous martial arts experience, some have a lot. There are many examples of people in this lineage using this Kung Fu successfully for self-defense in real world fights eg streets, bars, workplaces and homes, as well as improving their lives.

@@ericgraham3344 We train and teach Ving Tsun Kung Fu for health and self-defense, not sparring or competition, but if students want to do that, they can.
Many Moy Tung-lineage students have used their skills for self-defense in the real world, in addition to enjoying other benefits of Kung Fu training.
Pak Sao thru Chi Sao and and Mai Sang Jong are pressure testing, among other other things.
There are well over 20 Moy Tung Kung Fu branches where someone can take an intro lesson to learn more. www.kungfuhq.com/branch-locations
PS In case it wasn't clear, Grandmaster Moy Tung does not necessarily monitor this social media channel; this account is managed by RVA staff.
