This was the highlight of the show for me when I saw Silk Sonic in Las Vegas. There were people weeping when I looked around the audience, it was magical.
Yup first thing I did when I got out of that show was try and find videos of him doing it, wasn’t until a couple months that they started popping out and I about dropped everything g i was doing to watch when I first saw one up. He’s guitar Jesus.

It really was. I had goosebumps, had no clue it was coming. Walked out saying I think I just saw the greatest guitarist on the planet and the greatest live entertainer going right now. Just insane
I don’t say this impulsively but this entire solo by Mateus might be the best live solo I’ve ever heard. I’m a huge guitar nerd especially in the Prog/shred genre so there are lots of great players in that realm. But Mateus seems like he can do it all but really concentrates on making sure everything stays melodic. That’s not easy to do. Phenomenal talent this dude.
Yeah, is a very well crafted solo, with the band also supporting him, that's why even the noodling parts fit so well. Mateus is one of the best ever for sure.
Asato, Mancuso, Henson, LaPage, Ostro... It's amazing to watch the evolution of electric guitar in real-time with these young gunslingers. Incredible sound and performance from Mateus, as always.
Never would have expected him to have such stage presence. Most of these modern bedroom guitar sorts just sit there and play. He looks like a rock star up there!
He has paid his dues and graduated from bedroom playing. He graduated from Musicians Institute in California where you get weekly live band practices and performances. You also take classes in performance, stage presence, etc.

Just discovered this guy tonight. I am a guitar player myself so I am constantly searching TH-cam for new and talented guitarists (or any instrument for that matter) that can intrest me. Because it's the hot players that I look at that make me a better player. And I like this guy already because he can shred, but he mixs it with lush chords with a lot of texture with tons of feelings, saving the blazing speed runs for the right moment. A very interesting player I will be listening more of for sure

He’s ahead of our time much as EVH was ground breaking. Any guitarist knows when he was sitting down making it sing was top tier guitar skill. His party tricks looked cool but those chords and harmonics🥹
