The interviewer skillfully made him feel at ease, allowing him to delve into his approach in great detail, something I haven't witnessed him do with others.
This is the best interview of Mateus on TH-cam, especially for someone who wants to learn his style. I like how Nahre has Mateus walk us through his method and how he thinks about his playing. It *almost* feels approachable broken down like this.
Western classical compositions tend not to leave room for improvisation as the spaces are integral to the composition. The blues have huge holes where the musician can improvise. They are similar to the "raga" which is a melodic framework for improvisation and composition in classical Indian music. Nahre perhaps is finding it difficult to reconcile the two understandably bc they are 2 different animals so to speak.
Can we imagine how much practicing is behind that playing. Like he explained, may be he feel it like exploring harmonies and possibilities not practicing. But still sometimes in the past he was beginner, like everybody else.
What he's just pulling off after deactivating his effects at the end of the video is just the sweetest stuff I've ever heard on a guitar. This guy is just incredible.
Yeah Rick beato is pretty nutshellish character in music. his lesson, critics and praise (interview) is sounded like the music that he called garbage in the chart. Shallow
Brilliant. I love Mateus’ command of the fretboard. Everything sounds so fluid, clear and correct. His embelishments are incredible. Such a chill dude for being so good at the guitar
His neck thumb bass movement/use, especially when its higher on the neck than the diade/or triad /or extended chord is the extraordinary technique IMHO. Cause he even says he has small hands, but his 'thumb joint and rotation is amazing/not easy and I'd love more about that.
Love how Nahre lets him express his approach without trying to coach him (she's a few levels up from him, speaking in harmonic vocabulary and developmental sense). Great conversation!
Im brazilian and never seen Mateus getting the opportunity to be cherished so well into his craft like this, you both suits a very natural ambient for introspective insights to come out. Thank you guys! Love both of your sweet souls/music.
Mateus´s playing never get boring to listen too, such a good taste, phrasing, tone. When I watched him playing for the first time I was so amazed, and still am.
I'm so proud of him, to have a Brazililan to represent us, with a very good guitar style. I follow him since his first video on TH-cam. Pra cima Mateus asato, você é o cara!
Whats nice is that I myself, I'm sure a lot of you as well, have already subconsciously done this to help "color" a cover of any song. Mateus just takes it to a whole other level!
This is one of the best guitarist interviews. Second time I’ve watched it and I’ll probably watch again. Great questions and a ton of helpful information
Mateus Asato is so very musical and the analysis from Nahre Sol is so very interesting as the her classical brain tries to drop in a language to describe what he is doing without thinking...following his ears down the melody line and adding passing notes and even chordal melodic ideas that appear to flow without effort as glides up and down in his very laid back way...almost breathing out the music from his fingers...
Nahre thank you for this wonderful heartfelt interview. You're both two of the most creative and personable individuals I've ever seen on youtube. Thank you for your wonderful creativity and sharing your beautiful gifts. 🙏🕊️❤️
Wow! I am already a Super Fan to both of you just listening how you share your ideas and your wonderful approach to creating your own kind / type of music having a variety of approaches to music making! Keep up the very good work as I will continue to follow both of you! God bless and more blessings!
Very insightful. The man is extremely good at this triads and inversions. I feel like i need to learn some more fills as well. My playing gets stale. Thank you for posting.
Billy Joel thought the same thing when he married a supermodel. The kids would get her looks and his musical ability. The kids showed up 😂😂😂 reverse that lol you just never know what you're gonna get with kids. These two have amazing natural born giftings... I can't imagine if they were to get together that the kiddos wouldn't have amazing ears for music. Great video either which way
27:23 its Instagram filters. Everyone uses the most nutty filter at first, but over time, you find out whats a subtle touch, and when its appropriate to use any at all
Both masters in their spaces but let's acknowledge this is the best Shampoo commercial I've ever seen.
Based comment lmao
😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
And btw I'm a huge UAFX fan. 4 UAFX pedals on my board right now.
The interviewer skillfully made him feel at ease, allowing him to delve into his approach in great detail, something I haven't witnessed him do with others.
The villain from Across the Spiderverse is a good interviewer!
This is the best interview of Mateus on TH-cam, especially for someone who wants to learn his style. I like how Nahre has Mateus walk us through his method and how he thinks about his playing. It *almost* feels approachable broken down like this.
i've been waiting years for this lol

*plays heaven itself*
y'know
his dry signal SOUNDS SO GOOD ALREADY DAMN
Can we imagine how much practicing is behind that playing. Like he explained, may be he feel it like exploring harmonies and possibilities not practicing. But still sometimes in the past he was beginner, like everybody else.
Man when he started playing Little Wing, his approach to it is so amazing! I've never heard it played in that way before
man all love mateus 💙 from Nepal...Asia
"you're so good its frustrating" lol me when i watch every guitarist that are good
I love the way that Nahre drew out so many insights from Mateus. This conversation is like a window into the mind of a musical genius.
What a guitar player …. Goosebumps.
We are so lucky to be in a time where we can watch the creative magic unfold in realtime!!!
The whole time I can only sense their connected chakra lol.
They have such a chemistry😂
same!!
And that, kids, is how I met your mother!
What he's just pulling off after deactivating his effects at the end of the video is just the sweetest stuff I've ever heard on a guitar.
This guy is just incredible.
Nari is just there holding the space …masterfull interviewing
Man, this is the best video I've seen of Mateus breaking down his playing. The man's a freaking legend!
One of the best guitarists, I ‘ve ever listened
best interview of mateus, rick beato did a great job but the depth of the thought process in this is next level
Yeah Rick beato is pretty nutshellish character in music. his lesson, critics and praise (interview) is sounded like the music that he called garbage in the chart. Shallow
He plays a lot, not too much talk but yes talk integrated with discussion
Mateus is a such a special player. One of the best of the new generation there is.
Best guitarist of this generation and its not even close
I like his chill personality. The great hair and the stoned chill vibe is probably the best combination on the YT circuit of guitarists.
I love the expression "stoned chill"!
@@31leoceara Thanks man. Cheers.
Damn...this is like Spiderman meets Batman.
14:24 This is the first time I see Paul's name mentioned in a context like this to a non-guitar player.
Skinny guitar neck?
Love how Nahre lets him express his approach without trying to coach him (she's a few levels up from him, speaking in harmonic vocabulary and developmental sense). Great conversation!
No matter what this guy is the guitar and not the other way around. The control is out of this world
They are both so nice, cute and chill. it's delightful. Wonderful artists.
Maju deve morrer de orgulho
Im brazilian and never seen Mateus getting the opportunity to be cherished so well into his craft like this, you both suits a very natural ambient for introspective insights to come out. Thank you guys! Love both of your sweet souls/music.
We need a part 2 of this interview soon.
Nahre really asked the right Qs and its a great collab of masters in their own spheres, amazing interview! Thank you both
This interview the other way around would/will be awesome specially with Mateus learning how to play piano.
Nahre is magnificent.
This was great! Mateus knowledge of the fretboard and his feel for music are out of this world!
Mateus is just as much humble as he is an amazing guitarist. What an example for us all.
Mateus plays like ive always wanted to play. even since before i started playing guitar 20 years ago. organic shapeless free beautiful
When he look at her and smile is the most beautiful thing 😊
Whats nice is that I myself, I'm sure a lot of you as well, have already subconsciously done this to help "color" a cover of any song. Mateus just takes it to a whole other level!
Two of the most artists that i listen and aspire in one video. Tasteful!
This is one of the best guitarist interviews. Second time I’ve watched it and I’ll probably watch again. Great questions and a ton of helpful information
That was a great interview. Both the questions and the answers.
The guitar is a very expressive instrument in the hands of the truly capable.
They have a beautiful resonant energy

we need the cover between these two geniuses xD
As a classical pianist myself, from 4 years old, and a self taught guitarist, she hit the nail on the head in thebway she posed those questons
Nahre thank you for this wonderful heartfelt interview.

You are an inspiration ❤

So amazing, I'd like to know about the mutiple effects pedal that you use.
Sangat menginspirasi, terimakasih UAD ❤

UAFX pedals. www.uaudio.com/guitar-pedals.html
Haha ya uad hosted event and a full uad pedal board at his feet …
Ei!, antes de você falar em Jimi Hendrix, ouvindo seu estilo, eu lembrei de Angel, Driftitig, baladas de Hendrix!
Beautiful
